Hahn wishes he could make the cheap pickups the Twins do year after year. He gets bums like Castillo, Alonso, and Jay. The Twins acquire Cruz, Cron, and Schoop.
McCann is still a good acquisition but I still think it's hilarious that some posters thought he somehow changed into a superstar after 4 mediocre years with the Tigers. Grandal will definitely be a guy the Sox should look at in the offseason and they can bring back McCann as his backup. It sure doesn't seem like the Sox want Collins catching much.
I won't be upset if they bring Abreu back for a year or two on a team friendly deal but the idea of Vaughn at 1B, Eloy to DH, and acquiring a better defensive LF'er with some pop is intriguing (Ozuna?)
True, but we really don’t know what we have in Mendick. Kemp could be a decent option starting at 2B until we call up Madrigal a few weeks into next season. Then, Kemp could assume the utility role.

“Many scouts also are looking at Nova, and Marlins closer Sergio Romo, who tossed a scoreless eighth.”
Mazara is basically Alex Rios Lite. He has been a consistent .745 OPS guy for years.
I guess he could improve because he’s still young but what would anyone be willing to give up for him? The Rangers probably always want pitching. I’d give up Jonathan Stiever but that probably isn’t enough.
Why do the Sox fall in love with players and always try to acquire them even after they have proven themselves to not be as good as expected?
Did anyone remember that Mazara was one of the guys who the Sox wanted for Sale but the Rangers wouldn’t part with him?

We may as well resign Nova if that’s the route you want to take. No, they need to sign some good pitching, not take more fliers on trash. We have already seen year after year how that goes.
