this is not terrorism this is an overloaded generator in the NY Niagra area - all the power grids are interconnected I am on the cusp of the blackout but the right side of it this is just another power failure as has happened before and before and before in years past the biggest effect of this: every blackout NY has ever had, 9 months later, the maternity wards get very busy

I saw that play on the tvs inside the club level hallways after the Bruce concert - your comment about St JosE6 "run us out of the inning" Valentin are calmer than mine were, so I will agree to yours. (But why do we keep him? His fielding? His hitting? His base running? )

and might I say, that is what is wrong with a lot of fans and these boards. You are pissed because a debut player goes 0-4? The very best hitters have 0-4 days. What would you call a player who came up as a rookie and went 0-50 plus? What names would you call the manager who played him? The rookie was Robin Vetura who was lucky that his career started before the the attention deficit disorder "got it have it now you better hit 9-10 and I'll say f*** you about the 10th at bat" style of fans that the internet has brought out. If a player is good, you wait them out. We did with Robin and it payed big dividends. If I were a player, I'd be pissed at the fans for being so lacking in baseball knowledge that an 0-4 debut is a problem. In fact, I am not a player and I find a lot of the fan trash talk of our own to be tiresome and totally lacking in baseball reality. If we have to ever let a player go 0-50+ again, ala Ventura, I hope we have a manager who who will have the guts to do it and I will probably skip these boards the entire time because baseball sanity will require it.

wasn't Valentine - since sent to Cincy - called up and then sent down by the Reds without an appearance?

How many fans, posters, will we lose with thread titles like those? Many ways to criticise players without such in one's face stuff with the "f***" word in the thread title. Although actually the combination of, in the original thread title, "f*** Neil [sic] Cotts" and ""give it up to Danny Wright" presented a verbal picture of a most unusual sexual fantasy.

no, tonight's game is a microcosm - we handily beat a team on the road that used to crush in their home park. never get too down about a loss or too up about a victory and no one game is an omen, really. You should get rid of that damned Michigan picture and use this advice as your sig. there are many Michigan pictures I can use - I simply use the prophetic one

I am looking at your avatar right now and scared s***less of who we call up next
-
between those who want the title changed - and the alternative of letting this thread pass off the main board on its own - and the ample other places to dsicuss Neal Cotts - I am closing this, uncensored (other than last night when I corrected the spelling of Neal), but so that it will move on off the main board
-
sign me up for the good things to say about Cotts band!
-
so here's the question - change it? I am most uncomfortable with it but - at least for now, those who strongly object to it should be very clear - a little peer pressure might be best now - but do it in another thread so this one will pass off the main baord

I have tried to email you through here and it fails every time don't you have $80 and want to see Bruce Springsteen on Wednesday night? I gotta shut down - email me back please and delete this waste of a thread asap!

spelling our own players' names right is kind of important, I certainly agree baseball is a game of stats and spelling is one of them otherwise Berry/Barry trades happen!

WELLIN sayin thats is crap because everyone my age hates classic rock....... what does your age have to do with it? and aren't you the person who started this thread looking for classic rock suggestions????????? I am my age and I despise classic rock as a format or genre and will not allow it on anything I own but despite it being the Lawrence Welk format of my generation (what ever happened to hope I die before I get old) their is a lot of great music from that era and Deep Purple gave us some of it - there is great music from every era and one should appreciate it all and not limit one's self - but classic rock as a format is for old people who refuse to learn anything new - IMHO (and watch me get flamed by a bunch of future AARPers for that!) and Deep Purple rocks!
-
I agree - I feel the same way you do - I think I will correct the spelling though
-
the one thing I saw that puzzled me was sending PK home from third on a wild pitch or passed ball - of course Mr. Speedy was out - and just before Sandy doubled too - cost us a run - Harris on third (which would be nice but when will that happen?) I'd send him, but not PK
-
Danny won 14 last year - I certainly would let him have more opportunties to start - but I would try Cotts again next time we need the 5th starter - Danny is young and has time and Cotts showed enough today to merit the next chance and if it helps Danny to bear down watching Cotts start, great!
-
a coach's decision must be above question - at least for financial interests - every time he held a player, or sent a player, or did anything - he simply can't ever coach or manage again I hope he and Art Schlichter (spelling, it has been a while) can enjoy watching games from the favorite OTB site though
-
i picture rose on a cell phone placing bets while coaching the advent of 21st century technology gives rose all kinds of new ways to get his bets down on the playing field or in the dugout if you are betting $5,000, press 1 if you are betting $10,000, press 2 if you are telling everyone to swing at the first pitch, press 3

i prefer the movie JC Superstar soundtrack to the original release - how about you? I think the movie sountrack version is more lively
-
then you have no taste Hush is one of the great songs of all time Smoke on the water kentucky woman the list goes on and on
-
we have two correct answers here: bingo, yes, Golden Earring is correct I'd suggest some real music though - if you want to live in the past, Janis Joplin - early Neil Young - the Hair soundtrack - everything by the Beatles - CSN and/or CSN&Y - and the brand new re-release of the Who's Live at Leeds that now for the first time contains the entire Tommy performance

you never ever get the best seats from ticketmaster - and the window will always do a better job, always - they are far more on top of things than the software program at ticketmaster that is trying to sell the hardest to sell seats but then again, at ticketmaster, you get to pay the extra charges too!
-
the one and only Blind Faith album is fantastic - Winwood sang lead on that, Clapton, Baker, and Grezch made up the rest of the band - saw their one and only tour and glad I did I think after his last solo hits and he has kind of stepped back - whoever posted he started in Spencer Davis Group is right about that as well as him being 16 at the time - no one could ever sing like Stevie

the thread title has intrigued me all day - have we had any ELo doubters here since maybe the 3rd game of the season? ELo has been the one player we have all agreed on, as I recollect it
