    D'angelo Jimenez

that could impact on our season depending on how that plays out
  3. a cell phone is about as tracable as an thing one can throw - how stupid is that? might as well throw your wallet with all your id - dip s***s - and throwing stuff at players should be severly penalized -
  4. best parts of game for me: 1st inning was a lucky inning, errors and misplayed balls by the Tribe - what I liked is we maintained intensity and doubled the score before it was over - we never relaxed - that was the best news we could ahve for the attitude of this team Stewart didn't look like he would last (and what a scary 1st inning he had) but Cooper coached him between innings and JS listened and he appliued it - unusual to see a pitcher so coachable mid game - I was very pleased there I thought D'Lo should have been safe on that play - wasn't sure if he got a slow jump, ran slow, or was it a great throw - replay looked like he was safe but you aren;t going to be called safe ona hand tag of the base like that - I was not happy with his slide hated to see Koch give up the home run - a bit concerned about him
  5. that's Heather's job! You've already laid claim to Mags, Olivo, and JB - that's enough players for you!
  6. damn straight! I am very honored by being asked to do this. Thanks to everyone who thought of me, who have confidence in me. And I point out the since I was asked to be a moderator, the Sox are undeated!
  7. 35 pitches so far, with no outs in the 2nd - he is laboring -
  8. and take it as a real compliment that so many people noticed right away and that so many people cared! The entire discussion on S&R was about how we were missing our soxtalk fix!
  9. that was an incredible swinging 10 foot hit by Olivo -
  10. damn I wish I were there - being the day before Easter I couldn't get away and damn I wish I were there - what a great first inning thus far -
  11. that was a terrible swing on that single for a run driven in and putting him on base so he could score he should have taken that pitch and his swing is just horrible
  12. I couldn't get through from about 12:30 am eastern daylight throu about 2 am - I didn't try before 12:30 as I was out with the kid - the S&R boards had quite a bit of traffic last night since a bunch of us went there - check the times we were posting at S&R and that would tell you when this was not able to be accessed

I understand and appreciate Tupac much more now than I did when he died - and I do think he is dead. And I also think we should have a separate Rappers Paradise forum because it is is so great to see rap fans posting but the metal head stoners will always be bashing! witesoxfan, impressive work on Tupac numerology and what happens in September for you to find out anything other than the 7th anniversary of his death? The real villian in it all was and is Shug Knight and I think a lot of LA cops were in on the murder of Notorious B.I.G.
  14. for at least a few hours late Friday early Saturday, Cali, Heather, HSC, CK, and I were unable to get in - was the site shut down for a while? Or were we banned?

I have responded in the off topic area as we have moved so far away from CLee that even he can't hit that one! Unless El Caballo has an interest in 19th century American poety and German opera that we are unaware of!

    ho yo to

BrandoFan, I am answering here because we have moved way off baseball. Ho yo to, or more fully ho yo to ho, was the immortal lyric by Wagner from Götterdämmerung, Act III. ho yo to ho You spoke of William Cullen Wadsworth-Longfellow. I think you ran two or three American poets together. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Longfellow poetry may also have used the ho yo phrase, now that you have said that, I have to think about it. He was not Canadian - he was American and wrote Son of Hiawatha. Longfellow bio William Cullen Bryant is a website for William Cullen Bryant, another American poet. He wrote "Thanatopsis" which first appeared in the North American Review in 1817, and Byrant was inspired by William Wordsworth, which is where a combination of Wadsworth and Wordsworth could confuse anyone not immediately steeped in 19th century American literature - which as we all know, most of us aren't! Damn I knew paying attention in college english would pay off some day! I bet I have bored everyone now! It is obviously my deep love for American poety that makes me such an Eminem fan! Now let's see if WSI has an off topic thread like this!

I think if you take the Marshall mathers and Slim Shady's LPs (in reverse order) and view them as a whole, the theme is indeed operatic, which was my first attraction to it, opera buff that I am. And by the time Em reaches the age of Wagner - Wagner, who wrote about really disgusting things in the Ring, all that incest and bestiality and filth [and that can't be denied] - I think Em will have achieved that level of musical complexity and scope. And none the less, ho yo to indeed. That line is laughable making every allowance for 19th century Germanic operatic tastes. The combination of the brilliant music and absolutely dismal lyric is what makes that scene in Apocalypse Now work so wonderfully - the contrast of the banal and the deep on the one hand with the fine arts and death on the other. 50¢ does a great Puffy imitation on the 3rd track (I think) of his newest. I am not a fan of Em's remixes although his Dream On thing he did last year in concert (off Eminem cd) was hysterical - "let's all pretend it's the 80s, get your lighters out, wave them high." And Puffy wishes he could have done Sweet Home Alabama before Em did. Not that Detroit rap takes a stand between the Puffy-BIG vs west coast thing. And Em is a huge Tigers fan - bringing this back to baseball. On that I disagree with him. But then he stole a riff from the UM Marching band for White America so I forgave him the Tigers s***.

I like Mozart operas more but the Mozart Requiem is a valid choice as his best work although I prefer Verdi's Requiem. I could go on and quote some brilliant lyrics - anyone could pick a line. Wagner wrote "Ho yo to" in Valkyries and repeats it 1,000 times - you gonna rap (get it, rap? ) on him next? I know 50¢ said what I quoted him as saying because I have the c.d. Not sure about your quote.

we can all agree on that. But if you one shot, one opportunity, to say everything that you ever wanted... wouldn't we say: We can also all agree that Marshall B. Mathers, III is God's own troubadour, a divine angel sent to speak to us all in the most blessed wordplay in brilliant lyrics since Shakespere and Christopher Marlowe's time with some of the most inspired music since Mozart's "Le Nozze di Figaro.". (but maybe in the non baseball forum...) And as 50¢ says, "Em, you know you're my favorite white boy." And mine, too! Ghost of Wayne Tolleson, that one is for you!
  20. If not for both Pedro Martinez and Nomar, than I ain't trading him.
  21. it would appear that I cannot sign the petition as I am not a resident of Illinois. Howver I did talk to my sales rep on Wednesday. My suggestion was a moat filled with aligators ringing the field as well as sending Mayor Daley's bulldozers from meigs Field up to Wrigley to put x's in their field as kind of a pre-emptive attack to warn them to stop sending the weapons of mass destuction to our stadium... my next step would be some shock and awe on those roof top drinking clubs
