not soon enough - I want baseball - I want Sox baseball - appreciate the countdown!
-
Dolphins are 2 wins, 2 losses or do have a 3rd loss - I don't remember but that is 2 wins and the only perfect season in NFL history. You think that is equal to the 0-4 Bills record? Our history is not all I want it to be but it is good enough, better than some!

oh yeah he would - go check my reply to you on the other board -

Only if we are speakling of Bo Schembechler!

1997 I was at the Baylor and Iowa games. I was raging at the the halftime of the Iowa game - my language was too obscene even for this forum - something about "we are going to blow it all" - but it all turned out well in a great chess match game of field position. There is more in the will than anyone might suspect - and it does include all my unused (because I died) tickets for the White Sox, UM, the Lyric Opera and Eminem concerts. (I loved the little bit of sampling from the UM band that Em does in White America - "look at these eyes, baby, blue, baby just like yourself" - cadence direct from the band.) I remember watching the Wisconsin game - that as an incredible season, and Charles was and will always be a favorite Wolverine of mine. I have his picture on my wall, the only UM player ever so honored. I remember very little of the Rose Bowl game other than the pooch punt on our last possession. I was just too nervous to remember anything, just too tense. I was touting Tai originally because he was from the Chicago area. When he turned out so well, I looked like a prophet to all my UM friends. We have a receiver whose name I cannot remember now, #8 I think, or #6, a kid from Carver I think - he reminds me of Tai and I think he will be our next big play receiver. I think my favorite game of the 97 season was the MSU one - everything that rivalry is about, the unbelivable interception for Woodson, and a game that was not so damned tense. I sweat away ten pounds in the last 2 minutes of the OSU game. How'd you get tickets for Camp Randall? Post-post edit - the Penn State game was my favorite on reflection. I loved the way we went to Happy Valley and just destroyed them when everyone was saying that was going to be our downfall! Hail to the Victors Valiant!

if you want to knowledgable and educated, yes and make informed chocies, yes.. Those who do not learn from the past are condemned to making the same msitakes over and over. this country deserves better than that. And so does every living human being.

I am at work and don't have a lot of time. I am getting fed up with 22 years (speakling generically) who have no recall of anything that happened beyond their memory and not studying the issue in its full complexity. When Dole went to Iraq as Bush 1's representative, Saddam had already gassed the Kurds and committed all kinds of unspeakable acts. Nothing Saddam has done since hadn't happened before. 10 years of US aid to Saddam under Reagan and Bush 1 put Saddam where he is. Dole in Iraq Under late Bush 1 and Clinton all sanctions were put into place and Saddam became no greater threat than he was. But Saddam did all of his evil and became the threat he became because of US assistance. In other words, if Saddam is guilty of criminal acts, every one of the Bush 2 adminsitration who served under Reagan and Bush 1 is guilty of complicity in building up Saddam and turning a blind eye to his acts of outrage because he was "someone we can work with." When the same people who created the conditions bleat on about those very same conditions, the hypocrasy is just too much to bear when lives are at stake. All the elephant tears and political posturing now cannot hide the fact of who built Saddam up and who ignored his outrageous acts - the same people as are now putting American lives on the line (as well as Iraqi lives) as a direct consequence of their own policies. And it is people like me who objected strenuously over US approval of Saddam all through the 80s and 1990, the same people who are getting condemned now. The only thing that has changed is expediency. Saddam has been very contained as a threat to the US or other nations. This war is about $$ - contracts have already been given to Hailburton and other companies and the conflicts of intertest of Perle and others is criminal, in my opinion. This is suppsoed to be a wra on terrorism - then go get bin Laden, not go to war against a nation that had nothing to do with September 11th. And to deal with Saddam now - we had a variety of ways other than war. A whole variety of ways. It was this administration that blotched all diplomacy and has turned allies into opponents and has squandered our national moral collateral with this war. There will be prices to pay for years to come because we did not resort to the other means possible to take down Saddam. Everything apu has been saying is right. I give him much credit for doing the research.
-
but apu is right. Remember Bob Dole toasting Saddam in 1990. It was shoert sighted foreign policy then under Reagan and Bush 1 and it is short sighted policy now under Bush 2.

That al Queda is going to blast the US for invading Iraq is proof of what? That is hardly news. Iraq is not linked with al Queda - bin Laden considers saddam an infidel and do you think the extraordinarily secular state of Iraq would tolerate religious extremeists, especially after Saddam watched religious fundamentalists take over neighboring Iran? Now Pakistan is a state that has very hospitable to al Queda. Saddam had no ties to al Queda. Polar opposites. This link is kind of like saying that I cheered for Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl. Yeah, I cheered for Michiagn's hated rival to win against Miami for the glory of the Big 10. That is all this article is.

vote results Michiagn 2000 Search for yourself. Michigan had about a 62% voter turnout and Detroit was in line with that.
-
county by county 2000 Michigan election results Look up Wayne County, where Detroit is, Given the total vote in the mid 700,000s, that would be maybe 55-60% of the registered total. If 95% of Detroit voters did vote, than almost no one in the rest of Wayne County voted at all. You think that is so? Again, whatever source you had for that lied because the Detroit vote was no where near 95%, no where near. You might recall that in 2000 Michigan's secretary of state was Candace Miller, Republican, and Republican John Engler was governor, and Engler has promised that Michigan would be a "firewall" to protect G. Bush in 2000.
-
It didn't happen, baggio. The Detroit turnout was good, even heavy, but it was no where near 95% of the vote, no where near. My recollection is that it did not even reach 60% of registered voters. Anyone who claimed 95% is an absolute liar, so I would advise never to watch that news source again.
-
could you substanitate your claim that voter turnout in Detroit was 95%? I live in Michigan and I do not believe that claim.

I actually do preach peace and I do protest this war. From the book of James: And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace for those who make peace. Those conflicts and disputes among you, where do they come from? Do they not come from your cravings that are at war within you? You want something and do not have it; so you commit murder. And you covet something and cannot obtain it; so you engage in disputes and conflicts.
