GameThread: White Sox(24-25) vs Athletics(19-29) 7:11 CSN
rackemup replied to Kyyle23's topic in 2009 Season in Review
QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 07:57 AM) From Paul Konrad's Facebook: Look for storms to return later this afternoon. Some could be strong with heavy downpours, hail and strong winds. High: 77 More rain tonight, tomorrow and tomorrow night Totally thought that said Paul Konerko's Facebook , so i searched and found nothing except a bunch of fan clubs. Guess Konerko doesn't have a future as a weatherman after all. -
Per Rotoworld Junichi Tazawa-S-Player Oct. 30 - 10:00 am et After asking teams not to select him because he wants to pursue an MLB career, 22-year-old RHP Junichi Tazawa went undrafted in the Japanese amateur draft Thursday. "I'm very relieved," Tazawa said. "I was very nervous right up until the end of the draft." Japanese players must play nine professional seasons before being eligible for free agency and bypassing that route means that Tazawa faces a three-year ban if he returns to Japan after playing elsewhere. However, with reports of a mid-90s fastball and several MLB teams already scouting him Tazawa will likely have no trouble landing a long-term deal. Source: ESPN.com

a little off topic, but is it just me or are Crede's legs performing some kind of optical illusion in this photo.

Yeah, it was not the same without gene there today. Another thing hopefully fixed for weds is the missing pitch speed indicator in right.

Make a wild or bold predicition for the 2008 Sox
rackemup replied to santo=dorf's topic in Pale Hose Talk
As the thread states, make your mostly bizarre, partly realistic predictions here. I'll get it started. Early July, Jim Thome goes down for an extended period of time in a heated pennant race and in a surprise move Kenny Williams makes a trade that nets us Frank Thomas, who proceeds to go on a terror that leads the Sox into the playoffs. But it all comes to a screeching halt with a first round loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. -
Official How Many Games Will the Sox Win Thread
rackemup replied to maggsmaggs's topic in Pale Hose Talk
not on the poll, but 102. you win 60, you lose 60, and we win the other 42 this is 60 less wins than i predicted last year, so hopefully my lowered expectations help them relax a lil bit -
I am trying to set up a 4 team for fun league between friends that does not involve the top 125 or so players. On yahoo or espn as league commish is there a way to delete players from the league before an online draft, or do you have to have an off line draft. But, even with an off line draft the top 125 would end up on waivers, and i don't want that. I am having trouble finding a player pool you can edit. Any help would be appreciated. thx

I want to believe everything will be alright, but i think that is all up to Josh. Doesn't hawk always say that baseball is 90 percent mental. In a game where the greatest hitters of all time succeed far less than fifty percent of the time, you have to have the ability to say you are gonna get em next time. If you don't have that ability, you are not going to be as successful as you could have been. If every at bat is followed by the doubt that you are not good enough to even be playing the game, than there is a problem. Superstars like Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods use their failures for motivation to train harder and succeed the next time, instead of fearing failure even more until it builds to a point beyond control. This does not just apply to fields, but every player in every game. If he goes through his whole career in fear, he can still succeed at a certain level, but how much better could he have been. Hopefully his mental toughness matches his raw abilities one day, unless he winds up playing for the cubs

anybody got a Chumbawamba cd we can send to Josh for inspiration

Who's Tom Brady? Google search results Tom Brady - 728,000 Tiger Woods - 18,200,000 I pick Tiger, plus I don't think Tom Brady is all that great at football. He looks unstoppable this year because of his receivers, but I never felt the Patriots won their first couple super bowls because of him. He benefits from a well rounded team. While Tiger gets all the credit for what he has done and is projected to do. Not to mention, Tom Brady does not have billion dollar potential, he is stuck being a millionaire.

13 pages is a lot to read through, so do not punch me instead of AJ if this has already been posted I was just punching AJ and got tired of typing things in and realized that hitting the backspace button returned me to the last page with everything filled out except the validation code. I then realized that you do not even need the right validation code for it to accept your vote. It let me keep voting without ever even changing the number. So I am pretty sure that you can just vote, click your backspace key, vote again, hit backspace key, vote, ect... This seems to make voting go a lot faster
