Cuban outfielder Guillermo Heredia has left his native country to pursue an MLB contract, per Ben Badler of Baseball America.
Heredia, 23, was the center fielder on Cuba's World Baseball Classic in 2013 and is known for his defense. He will be exempt from international bonus pools, which is good news for his bank account. Heredia is a plus defender that will likely play center field in the majors, but his bat is a question mark according to Badler. It's uncertain when he'll be cleared to sign with an MLB club.
We don't really have room for him, when I think about it.
