The way I interpreted the end was that he kind of came to the conclusion that he just isn't going to find someone who can handle the real him and that he's done with the love connections. I'm really anxious as to what the hell any kind of plot could be in season 6. And for those craving the end-of-season cliffhanger, that ONLY happened in season 4 with Rita/Trinity. Yeah. All the seasons end up being wrapped up. Even Ritas death was not really a cliffhanger. We knew who did it. I felt unfulfilled by the finale but enjoyed it. Glad Lumen left and Dexter saving Quinn's butt was kind of unexpected.
