2 DP's for Alexei today. Never thought I'd see that.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 13, 2008 -> 02:24 PM) Whose numbers are even worse than Jose's. Rich Harden would have been nice and with what the Cubs gave up, we actually probably could have nabbed him. Burnett is miserable in Toronto. If we got him and paired him with Coop, I could see dynamic things.

If the Twins are going to hang around, we can't truck Jose out there every 5th day, can we?

Wow, quick hook. Hope Ozzie took notice.

Jimmy continues to rake. Hopefully Ozzie will have a short leash with Jose here. Masset should be up at first sign of trouble.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 13, 2008 -> 02:35 PM) Hawk actually died in 2006. It's been a robot ever since. I knew something was up.

With the exception of the actual game play by play, you could just have a bunch of Hawk quotes and replay them every game of the season. We know the surface is fast, Hawk.

Bad park rule. If it hits up there, it should be a homer.

How was that not a homer?

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 13, 2008 -> 02:26 PM) Agreed. Thome has really been playing well. Keep making me look dumb Jimmy, keep making me look dumb I was with you on the Thome thing. When he mixes in doubles with homers, it's nice for some reason. Hitting to all fields, it's beautiful.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 13, 2008 -> 02:18 PM) So Thome already has a double today. Lets say in his next 3 ABs he goes 2-3 with a HR and a single. And finishes the day 3-4 w/ HR, 2B, 1B. That would push his OBP to .379 and his SLG to .521 which would put his OPS at .900 for the first half of the 2008 season. Good stuff. Kudos to Jim for bouncing back the way he has. We need him.

Don't feel like watching Jose pitch today so will probably be flipping thru other games when Texas bats.

I was one of the few that liked certain things of St. Anger. I'd love to hear an album like "...And Justice For All", with a bunch of 8 minuted mind blowers.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 13, 2008 -> 11:45 AM) Johan got screwed. We could keep going on which pitchers should of been selected instead.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 09:53 PM) On Baseball Tonight, Tim Kurkijan talking about how underplayed the whole Rick Ankiel story is. What bogus? Dude was on HGH with proof. That ain't a great story, that's a dude who cheated and was caught. Geez. We can accuse all we want, but he is a guy who was caught ordering the drugs. He's a cheat not a great story. Josh Hamilton is great story -- for now at least. I thought Ankiel was on perscribed stuff. I could be wrong.

2008 Chicago Cubs Catch-All Thread
Give em the division now. Cards bullpen tonight was brutal as was Milwaukee's. Cardinals were up 10-4, give up 4 in the 9th to Pitt and go to extra's tied at 10. Glaus homers, than St. Louis gives up a 2 run bomb to Michaels for the win. Can we give the Cardinals Mike MacDougal. It wouldn't hurt them. Gagne got booed out of Miller Park.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 08:21 PM) Anyone see Hellboy 2? Looks darn entertaining from the previews. I was one of the few that didn't dig the first one too much. Maybe I should watch it again.
