QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 05:04 PM) It was the latter. He did receive a suspension but has not chosen to come back since. Thanks. I just knew he was serving and was hoping nothing else happened to him.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 01:21 PM) No longer a member. Since we're on that topic.... Nuke Cleveland?? Anyone ever hear from him? Did he get banned? Leave on his own?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 08:31 AM) I like responding to being yelled at by calmly posting graphs. I disagree with about 95% of the things you post, but I will say this....you are always calm...at least you come off that way. You're like the Lovie Smith of Soxtalk. I'll let you decide if I meant that as a cheap shot or not.

QUOTE (Soxy @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 08:20 AM) If I make my points in all caps I CAN'T BE WRONG! Why do people get upset at the Caps in posts? It's just adding extra emphasis on something. The same you would do if you were conversing face to face. Now if it's all caps...you're just yelling and I won't stand for it.

So about 1 mil to each team... Cubs-White Sox series to have its own trophy Posted by Ed S. at 4/26/2010 9:30 AM CDT on Chicago Business The annual White Sox-Cubs series now will have a trophy attached to it. Both teams, though, will win by walking away with more than $1 million in a unique sponsorship deal, according to a top sports marketing consultant. The teams announced this morning that the winner of the six-game series will receive the BP Crosstown Cup. This follows the college football tradition of traveling trophies such as Little Brown Jug (Michigan-Minnesota), Old Oaken Bucket (Purdue-Indiana), Illibuck (Illinois-Ohio State), and the ever-popular Floyd of Rosedale (Iowa-Minnesota). The teams obviously want to add more spice to what already is an intense series. The winner of the most games will be awarded the Crosstown Cup in a trophy presentation following the final game. If the annual series is split 3-3, the Cup will be awarded to the winner of the series' last game. It is a creative idea, ensuring the losing team's fans will make a beeline for the exits prior to the trophy presentation. However, this unique partnership between the two teams is about more than a trophy. There are sponsorship dollars here, and BP will be paying a premium. Marc Ganis, president of Chicago-based SportsCorp, said both teams will receive in excess of $1 million in the deal. BP will have several promotions surrounding the Crosstown Cup. The company will be the presenting sponsor through the 2012 season. "It's an additional revenue source for the teams," Mr. Ganis said. "It's also a way of promoting the teams even more when all the activation is done by BP. This is the kind of sponsorship arrangement that has benefits across the board, including those for fans." Here are the statements from the big guys in the release: “Cubs and Sox fans have always been passionate about this rivalry. The BP Crosstown Cup recognizes the excitement of winning the crosstown series,” said Chicago Cubs Executive Chairman Tom Ricketts said. “In addition to bragging rights, fans will have a chance to win prizes through this promotion, which will make the series even more fun.” “Thanks to Chicago’s baseball fans, this city is such a passionate baseball town, particularly when it comes to the White Sox vs. Cubs in interleague play,” Chicago White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf said. “We think the creation of the Crosstown Cup, made possible through this unique, two-team, one-city partnership with our friends at BP, will elevate Chicago’s summer baseball rivalry to a new level for fans on both sides of town.” What do you think? Is this a good idea?

The only time I ever went to that site was when this one went down and I didn't know what was going on. I knew a few people from here posted there, so I signed up to see if I could IM anyone. Really haven't been back since. I'm loyal to this place and there really can't be anything they offer that soxtalk doesn't. This place has it all, highly intelligent posters, jump off the cliff posters, hang on the fence posters, logical and illogical posters and my personal favorite...Soxtopian posters...it's a perfect blend. Not to mention the Sports Pub, Future Sox, SLAM, Fillibuster.... To each his own, but I certainly don't see this place as a backup plan to WSI.

You're going on a first date with a girl. It's either a blind date or a girl you barely know. Where do you go??

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 05:09 PM) Like BigSqwert said, where does this happen? I've been using PCs for about 12 years, and I had exactly 1 hard drive die on me. The only OS I had problems with was Windows ME because it was a piece of s*** OS that MSFT is ashamed of admitting responsibility for. Vista wasn't anywhere near as bad for me as everyone says it is, especially in this thread, but I have 7 now and it's great. The only time I had a bad spyware problem was when I was messing around with software/websites I really shouldn't have been. i.e., porn

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 12:13 PM) And a bunch of guys in the lineup are hitting well below where anyone would expect them to hit for a full season. The offense may not be good enough, but there is zero chance it stays this bad. .220 AVG and .196 w.RISP isn't going to last. Agree and when the hitting gets better...unlike other years when we needed the HR to get runs...we should actually see more runs produced simply with that better hitting.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 10:00 PM) Nothing to do with the season, but started watching Rescue Me on Netflix. Long way to go. I watched the first 6 episodes today of Season 1. I have no lilfe. Awesome show.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 09:01 AM) Google rubber playground mulch and toxic. There is plenty of stuff out there on it. At the end of the day, it is tires. There is a reason no one can figure out what to do with them. They are toxic in any form that comes with human or plant contact. Thanks Mike.
