No more bling
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 12:22 PM) I don't mind it a whole lot, but it is pretty stickler. Shaq's outfit would be in violation of the rules, in the picture below. Why? I thought it said no "baseball caps" or something like that. I think Shaq would be fine with what he's wearing. PIMP.

Can anyone confirm or deny this rumor
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 09:43 AM) I think it would be bigger then the Bulls, no? No, the bulls used to draw 500,000+ to those rallies. They were held in the begining of the summer when nobody had school and the weather was favorable.

QUOTE(SouthPaw @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) Wow, that is awesome...makes you realize that the Sox dominating in the postseason isnt really a big surprise. Well I mean for people that arent sox fans. We of course knew what the sox were going to do once they got to the playoffs! Yes. Playoff sucess is guaranteed.

NLCS game 5
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:08 PM) Seriously, did anyone NOT expect Pujols to hit a home run in that situation? It was just setup too perfectly. I said to my dad, "There's no way he goe's 0-5. This series is heading back to STL," before he even stepped into the box.

I have two questions for you guys...
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 03:09 PM) That's f***ing highway robbery. $10 for a trib. GMAFB. I know the Daily Herald is putting together all of the sports sections (front pages at least) and packaging them together... I don't have the URL available for where to get that deal though. I read it at lunch. -- I don't subscribe to any papers anymore.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX PLAYOFF WINNER
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 12:58 AM) By the way, random note...did anyone see me on tv last night. I did an interview with ABC (Chicago affiliate) I think after the game by the dugout. I was contacted by an ABC reporter who wanted to do an interview with me. I told her I wasn't news, but she could talk to me in 4 more wins.

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 06:46 PM) The funny thing is that a ton of ND fans are b****ing that they got screwed. The whole game, they were the definite benefit of a majority of the calls. Kudos to the officiating crew for keeping their composure in the last few seconds, and making the right calls. I watched more of the Michigan game, but there was one call where I nearly threw my remote at the TV. ND had 3rd and 20 deep in their own end, there appeared to be a fumble. And a huge scrum ensued trying to get the ball. -- Players from both sides were pulling the other teams players off the pile. I saw punches thrown and one guy appeared to kick another player who was on the ground. The whole time the refs were trying to figure out who had the ball. Eventually they ruled ND had recovered. 4th and a bajillion. -- Oh wait there was ONE personal foul on the play. It just happens to be on USC. First down ND.- Official College Football Thread
QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 06:39 PM) As freaky as that ending was, the refs seemed to have got it exactly right. I just question where they marked the ball. Isn't supposed to be where the ball goes out of bounds? Where did it go out?- Official College Football Thread
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 06:25 PM) That Michigan game was the greatest college football game i have ever seen. WOW! Care to revise that statement?- Official College Football Thread

The Big Ten is teh Carazy Iowa, tied for first place.- Official College Football Thread
I didn't understand why they didn't just run around, waste some time, and take the safety. Iowa had a similar situation last season. They led Penn State by 4 points with about 30 seconds to go. They took the safety, held PSU on three passes, and the game was over. Minny's situaton was a little different with just a 3 point lead, but punting from your own endzone turns into 3 points by the other team about 60% of the time. -- They were looking at a probable overtime situation anyway. -- You should take the safety, and the extra 20 yards that come with it, and play for the win. Giving them the ball at their own 30 with :25 and a 1 point lead is a pretty good chance at victory.- You're the GM: White Sox edition
QUOTE(3E8 @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 05:51 PM) The 20 year old who hit over 40 homers in high A? Don't think he's going anywhere. With 50+ doubles. He hit 4 HR in a game the other day in the AFL. He has 9 HR in 9 games out there.- Official College Football Thread

QUOTE(Purdue129 @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 04:54 PM) Purdue's setting themselves up for a serious beatdown by the Hoosiers Agreed on that. Iowa just played Purdue in West Lafayette, and IU in Iowa City, and I can honestly say that I thought that IU was the better team. What happened to the defense 129? I know they returned all 11 starters from last season. - 1973 NLCS
