  1. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 08:11 PM) Red Raiders Suck! http://www.2dorks.com/video/ringmybell.wmv
  2. QUOTE(ThinWhiteDuque @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 08:10 PM) My last post regarding the crowd: I don't care what the score is. This is the ALCS. Act as if you're somewhat interested. Red Raiders Suck!
  3. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) Byrd looks really good. He's Timoriffic.
  4. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) Giles OPS+ (148) also ranks better than Konerko's (136, IIRC). More than anything, though -- 119 walks. That's amazing. That also has to do with Petco's absurd park factor.
  5. Anyone post any jinxing broom smilies in here? -- I deleted anyone who prematurely posted them in the ALDS threads, but I don't really wanna read through 15 pages going on smilie patrol.
  6. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 03:05 PM) Woe unto him who lets this yet-unconfirmed news fill him with confidence. Even sin Colon, LAA is a deadly team. Poopy
  7. QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) Have to blame Crosby...Bernie Williams woudn't have gotten within 30 yards of that ball. Yeah. The Yankees defense really cost them last night. -- On that play Rowand and Dye would have been to the spot and been able to play a best of 3 set of Rock/Paper/Scissors to decide who would catch it, but the Yankees look Wile E Coyote running into a cliff wall. Sheff also let Vlad go from first to third on a "single" that's safely in the web of Dye's glove 95% of the time.
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 12:11 AM) We'll take him. ARod would 65 HRs at the Cell.
  9. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 12:16 AM) Trust me, the Angels aren't gonna be tired from jet lag. Maybe if it were a regular season game, but no team is gonna be tired for a post-season game. Adrenaline is all the energy they need. BAN THE ANGELS FAN!!!
  10. So look up the CS% when Buehrle/Garland et al are on the mound.
  11. QUOTE(3E8 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 12:00 AM) I like to tell myself it's because Timoniel started one of the games at first base. Best.Decision.Evar :banghead
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) Ya, Count was awesome that game. He was pitching like he is right now and than McPherson just hit a total bomb (Dallas was the only guy to do anything off Jose that night...he had a hit earlier in the game IIRC). McPherson also took him deep in the rematch at the Cell... In Anaheim it was an 0-2 fastball. In Chicago it was a hanging splitter.
  13. QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 11:45 PM) The Sox have their hands full. There's a reason why the Angels won the season series 6-4. They are very, very good. Yeah, Contreras vs. McPherson. -- We didn't exactly get the best of that matchup.
  14. Oh Noes!11! Sean Douglass is now with the Tribe!
  15. Yeah, the #2 and 3 TV markets aren't big enough.
  16. Shaumburg High School
  17. Irony: 0 posts before post-season. almost 200 post after post-season starts.
  18. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 03:10 PM) It won't happen. I'd be somewhat optimistic about our chances, if it were here. I know we've split our last two appearances there, but we're not going to win in Iowa. I haven't seen IU take a single snap this season, but I know they've got Hoepner in there, and they seem to be putting points on the board. You could use a blocking sled for your O-Line, and your QB would still have all day to throw against a zone defense with a 7 yard cushion. I'm sure U of I will be favored, but I'll probably be making a play on IU plus the points.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 07:15 PM) And I stand by my comment...when I told you they were way over-rated when they got into the top 25 based on that win against Iowa. Iowa is starting to figure things out too. Solomon stepped it up today in a big way and the defense looked a lot better. They may be a sleeper later in the season and while I dont' think they will finish top 10, they are a top 15 team and could even turn into a sleeper in the big 10. The D did not look a whole lot better. Purdue just shot themselves in the foot because they were dumb. Iowa gave up 450 yards of offense, and had only one sack and QB pressure (that was in Purdue's final drive when the game was out of hand) In the first quarter Purdue's RB had 50 yards on 6 carries. He only got 7 more touches the rest of the game. Iowa's defense had nothing to do with that. Stupid play calling did. Iowa plays a 2 deep zone, and relies on pressure from their front four to force a QB to make bad decisions. Their current D-line is the worst in the Big Ten. When you play like that against a team with a good QB, you're going to get shredded. -- Iowa better watch out next week against Indiana. If they overlook that game at all, and stick with their stupid base defense crap, they're going to end up on the wrong end of a bad upset.
  20. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 02:55 PM) On a ground ball and the fielder throws the ball, who catches it to get the out? That's great. It doesn't change that first base is the easiest of all positions to play defensively.
