  3. QUOTE(Winnin Ugly @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 06:28 PM) He doesnt think Pods should be in the all-star game f*** you Jimmy I don't think Pods should be going to the ASG.
  4. I posted my Current top 10 over there.... 1. Brian Anderson -- Not great, not terrible. Will be a solid OF for years to come. 2. Brandon McCarthy -- No reason to let his ML call up effect his status. He's got some work to do, but could be very good 3. Chris Young -- Tons and Tons of potential. He is the one prospect I would be most upset trading. 4. Gio Gonzalez -- Great numbers, good curveball. some durability issues. 5. Ryan Sweeney -- Power is not an issue with me... Yet. He's young for the Southern league, and I expect him to repeat at least a half-season there next year. 6. Ray Liotta -- He's done nothing but put up good numbers since entering the system 7. Tyler Lumsden -- great stuff, injury 8. Casey Rogowski -- Promotion to Charlotte might be in order. I'd be interested to see how the Bandbox at Charlotte effect his power numbers 9. Sean Tracey -- Sinkerballer. Good ERA at every stop, poor control. 10. Robert Valido -- Just turned 20 (hopefully that's accurate) hitting .313/.360/.429 in the Carolina league. 28/4 SB/CS ratio. 11. Nick Lemon.
  5. Most contracts are longer than 2 pages.

  8. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 11:22 PM) I am sure everyone will be thrilled to hear that harold reynolds said podsednik deserves to go to the all-star game. I always liked him. Good guy, that Harold.
  9. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 10:35 PM) Paul Konerko will re-sign as the Sox 1Bman. Frank Thomas will be back as the DH and Dye will play RF. Carl Everett may be gone, but then again maybe not. Rumor is that he might be on the trading block. Brian Anderson and/or Joe Borchard will be the 4th and/or 5th OF'er. Timo will be gone also so the question will be do we sign a reserve IF'er or have the 5th OF'er? Dye will not be playing at IB. I love Frank Thomas, but to say PK will not be there simply because Thomas hit the homer last night only goes to show that old saying, "what have you done for me lately." Lately in this case meaning last night. We shouldn't think so negatively or be so near sighted. I told you that guy was a quack. Sometimes I feel like I'm talking to myself.
  10. Talk to me in October, when Eh Steve! has taken the last month of the season off. He's going to hand the division title to the Braves, just wait.
  11. It worked. Small though. Nasty breaking ball. a little wild. -- So what we expected.
  12. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 03:48 PM) Let's hope so for next season. For those who didn't hear, JD will get the start at 1B tonight. And yes, I agree with DBAHO, he's auditioning for next season. I think he'll be our 1B with Konerko taking a big payday somewhere else (Baltimore?)
  13. I wonder if he has a 1B mitt?
  14. Schilling to the bullpen. The new BoSox closer?
  15. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 02:02 AM) If you think the Sox are for real, you have to the Nats the same credit. They are doing things exactly the same way the Sox are. Here's a big difference: Run Scored Runs Allowed White Sox 395 314 Nationals 340 340 The Nats have the stink of a .500 team on them. They're a .500 team with a good BP though, so they should win a lot of the close ones. I'd put money on the Braves to catch them.
  16. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 01:53 AM) Frank -- 12-3 Carl -- 26-12 Aaron -- 15-9 15-10 Frank -- 12-3 15-4 Carl -- 26-12 Aaron -- 15-9 15-10
  17. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 08:34 PM) Why do we struggle with this f***ing team!!! I blame the stadium.
  18. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 06:01 PM) Any questions on who should start Tuesday, should now be answered. AL Pitchers of the Month April: Garland May: Rogers June: Buehrle Conclusion: Halladay will start.
  19. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 04:54 PM) w00t, I finally figured out who it was Borderline HOF candidate right now. But he does have some serious post-season heroics that should push him over the edge.
  20. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 04:50 PM) The thing that's been bothering me about McCarthy is that it seems like he never throws his changeup. Never. He threw it on a couple of pitches early in the game yesterday, one of which struck out Lugo, and then got away from it to the point that 2 innings later Hawk and DJ were saying that the strikeout pitch was one of the only changeups that McCarthy threw. I'm starting to wonder a bit if AJ is a good catcher for McCarthy...AJ seems like he holds that pitch in reserve and wants him to throw the fastball and the curveball, when the only way BMac can have success is if he shows several hitters that changeup so that people can't just sit on the fastball. Has anyone else seen this? I'm almost certain that BMac has been basically not shaking off AJ at all and has been throwing whatever he calls for, but it seems like the changeup never gets used. I've thought the same thing. Part of it gets back to the confidence issue. He doesn't shake anything off. So it's not like he's pitching out there. Just throwing.
