  1. Redding and May combined to allow 9 ER in the first three innings so far for the Yankees.... Schmidt and Burnett's prices just went up.
  2. That Minnie Minoso statue is in CF too, but I haven't read any articles about it's ability to play three positions lately.
  3. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) Didn't he just accept arbitration this past offseason to stay with L.A.?? He signed one of those cookie cutter 3-year deals... 22-24M
  4. The Trib is making too much money. They would never sell
  5. If she's anything like the Emily I know, she'll change her mind at the last moment and snow on Florida.
  6. The price is about to go up folks.... http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/basebal...-sports-marlins
  7. It was the only level playing baseball yesterday. Why not play there?
  8. QUOTE(Winnin Ugly @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 11:30 PM) Gustavo is rumor to be going to Fla in the Burnett deal For a young, good pitcher. Contreras is neither.
  9. QUOTE(VAfan @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 11:22 PM) Jason Schmidt's night: 6 innings, 4 hits, 4 BBs, 7 Ks, 1 run, left for pinch hitter in 7th in 1-1 tie at Dodger Stadium. He's still the right move for the Sox. Now that Contreras has found his form in back to back games, I wouldn't give much more than Contreras-Uribe for Schmidt-Vizquel, but it's still the best deal that has been discussed over the last two weeks. One A list prospect like Anderson and a B list prospect should be enough. And I'm not in a hurry to make this deal. July 31 would be fine. Contreras hasn't rounded into form. He'll crap his pants as soon as you feel comfortable with him again. Probably next outing. I meant to double quote... From the last post on the previous page... Why would Toronto give up Chacin? and who is Shane?
  10. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 07:19 PM) AJ had like 8 pitches he could crush in that sequence, somehow he GIDP. He was waiting for his pitch
  11. Did you notice that Kanny played against Chipper Jones?
  12. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 02:35 PM) I LOVE DONG......hahaa screw you guys i'm going home
  13. That's cool. I've seen fox and coyote in my yard in the past month. Not surprisingly, I can't remember the last time I saw a rabbit, or even a opposum or racoon.
  14. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 11:29 PM) Someone's watching Jay Leno. Doesn't seem to be the brightest bulb though. . . Two different baseball forums... Wow Eve Mendez is hot.... She sure is stupid though. Who Cares. /I'm still watching baseball. :wub Connor Jackson.
  15. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 11:09 PM) Its a six player trade involving David Wells and Phil Nevin. That would have to be contingent on Boston getting another starter. I can't really see the Pads giving up on Nevin. Who do they have in the wings?
  16. Rogo hit a 3-run HR in the 7th. Reynoso pitched a perfect inning with a K Meaux gave up a run on 2 hits in 1 IP.
  17. This guy is having a good time this season, huh?
  18. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 10:15 PM) I don't think Baj is gonna get a save, just a hunch Yeah, he's playing in AAA now.
  19. Byrnes is the most overrated fielder in the game. Even more overrated than Jeter. He gets painfully bad jumps, often breaking the wrong direction, but makes up for it with a diving stop that will somehow be #1 on Web Gems. A good fielder would never have to dive for the balls that Byrnes makes spectacular plays on.
  20. QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 07:45 PM) Rogo strikes out against Jason Johnson who also did this in the 2nd D. Young Strikes out swinging C. Rogowski Strikes out swinging J. Guzman Strikes out swinging Those aren't exactly the best contact hitters though. I think Guzman only trails Fields by 1 for the SL lead in K's. Rogo's in the 70s and Young is in the 60's.
  21. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 03:08 PM) this is his fourth season in Triple A and now he's having ONE decent month. If he has any trade value, now is the time to move him. Anderson, Sweeney, Young, Owens, Collaro and others are much better prospects. Collaro has some impressive power numbers, but his near 100:15 K/BB ratio and resulting low OBP make him look Korey Patterson like, except he's 22 and in A-ball.
  22. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 03:03 PM) Didnt you expect to hear something about his pitching session in Florida this week? He pitched fairly well in charlotte, who knows what happened afterwards? It was SUNDAY. People were making a big deal about Buehrle throwing on 2 days rest. They insunuated that Garland on 3 days rest may have caused his lack of control. pitching TODAY would be 2 days rest for El Duque. But who knows what happened afterwards.... It's the freakin' all-star break. The minor leagues and their limited beat writers are all on break also. The Major League beat writers are all busy covering actual all-stars. What happened afterwards. Why are you surprised nothing was reported?
