  2. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 04:38 PM) Thank You RS for that Draft pick.. HEHEHE Had to throw that in there Nice job marky, Keep up the good work. How'd that pick ahead of MB turn out? You know the one related to RS.
  3. You can't just write a guy off after 25 IP. They could come back and be a HOFer.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) well...KC's record was what after 81 games??? 43-38
  5. Just announced on ESPN 1000, no press release on mlb.com or chisox.com, but I'm sure it's true. Just take a look at these June numbers. W L IP H ER K BB ERA Buehrle 3 0 37.2 37 4 31 2 0.96
  6. I just did a little search, to see how bad Iguchi has been since His OPS topped out. Actually I just used may 5th, an arbitrary date that since then, he's failed to do anything spectacular. Anyway, while searching, I found that Neifichiro! of the Cubs has posted a magical .247/.267/.341 since that date. As if that wasn't bad enough, there's only 4 players in baseball who've had more ABs than him since that date. Oh and Iguchi is .240/.308/.406 since May 5th. That's two months of BLAH.
  7. and by a hair they mean an insurmountable margin... You guys gotta hope for some voter fraud in Florida, switching to the Electoral college, or Supreme Court intervention to get Pods to Detroit in a week.
  8. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) Waste of time thinking about it. Let's remember what he's earning this year. Clemens Signs With Astros for One Year, $18M http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/artic...-2005Jan21.html Do you think the Astros are going to eat salary and send him north? I don't think JR is worried about the books at all right now. Attendence is up. We're the best team in baseball. And we just might have a chance. If $9M and some prospects are what it's going to cost for the Sox to get to the promised land. He'll loosen the purse strings enough for KW to get his guy.
  9. QUOTE(MnSoxFan @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 09:59 AM) Well hell, he had 51 strikes in 68 pitches, and we are saying he was robbed of more??? Early in the game he had about 3 good breaking balls right on the outside corner to righthanders. He didn't get the call. He never really went back there. Was it a strike? not for McCarthy. Greg Maddux would have gotten that call all night though.
  10. QUOTE(quickman @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 09:05 AM) Rock, I not even sure he deserves a chance. i still contend that he is not talked about outside Soxtalk. His name just never comes up. I may be wrong, and he maybe a throw in somewhere, but he also will probably end up a career minor league pitcher. This is of course my opinion only. I have nothing against him but if he is as good as everyone on this board says he is why in the world wouldn't he be here right now? There is plenty of room for great pitchers. Ross Gload is in Charlotte. He will have another mysterious injury setback before Timo Perez is gone. Why wouldn't he be here right now? /Red Herring
  11. .243/.294/.354 -- He will be good once he's in a good line up.

    QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 01:21 AM) Ok so who didn't think it had something to do with Podsednik? I didn't but I was going to come in and make a Pods joke.
  13. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 12:32 AM) Well, interesting move but I'm really, really excited to see Bobby pitch. Anyone think Kenny has something against the futures game, we always have 1 or 0 guys there. I just hope Chris Young is still ours at that point.
  14. One other thought... Walker is useless, obviously. BMac is going to take somebody's roster spot in Charlotte. Why not release Walker, and call up Gload? Makes too much sense probably.
  15. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 11:51 PM) Aw, come on now. Viz-4.46 ERA Walker-10.80 ERA Tonight was the first time in almost two months that he entered the game with a lead of 3 or less and didn't surrender it. He did pitch 2 innings in a tied game in Detroit, but I would hardly call those clean innings. He allowed 4 hits and a walk. He's lucky that Detroit was sucking hardcore that series. He's been bad. Shingo starting to revert too, but he looks better doing it.
  16. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) Viz doesn't deserve to be lumped with Kevin Walker. Yeah, he's right handed.
  17. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) Ozzie said there was no need for the 5th starter, so why not add to the bullpen. Just make sure he sits next to Politte and Hermanson. Stay away from Vizcaino and Walker. You don't want to catch whatever it is they have.
  18. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) Conformation: in the postgame Ozzie: diz kid Jenks is gonna come up. I think they're sending McCarthy down though... Which really sucks, because it means Walker is still here.

  20. I'll say this. You're missing out if you're not relying on stats. Similarly, you're missing out if you're relying on them solely. You need to have a good mix of both personal observation that doesn't rely on results. (example: Tonight's game was actually the best I've seen of BMac since he's been up. The stats won't tell you that. 2 HR, 5 ER in 3IP is not a good line. But, he was keeping his fastball down, and spotting it pretty well (except for the one to Huff) He had a very nice breaking ball that he was dropping right on the outside corner low, but wasn't getting the call. In turn he elevated the breaking ball a little bit to get it called for strikes, and he hung a couple of those. He didn't throw enough change ups for my liking, and was two predictable with his pitch selection. i.e first pitch fastball. If he's throwing the change down in the zone first pitch he's going to have a lot of hitters off balance for the rest of the AB.)
  21. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 10:58 PM) i hate when they sing god bless america during the seventh inning, i like the fact that we are trying to remember our county but its just a waste of time It's cool with me on holidays, but I'm over the whole 9-11 contrived garbage.
  22. I heard Bajenaru was throwing left handed tonight in Pawtucket. It's the only way he's ever going to see the big leagues with the Sox.
  23. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 09:59 PM) Kevin Walker up in the pen for the Sox. SHOOT ME NOW!
