  1. Am I the only one who giggles every time the see the screen name "Say it Anit so?"
  2. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) 26.2 innings of perfect ball last year for shingo, missed it by one stinkin out. No, Shingo retired 28 straight batters. Good for a hidden perfect game.... 26.2 INNINGs wouls be almost 3 straight perfect games.
  3. Checking through the game log, Neal Cotts hasn't given up a hit since May 29th. In his last 7 appearences, covering 9.2 IP, he has stuck out 10 while walking 4 and not allowing a hit.
  4. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) What the hell is with people calling uribe ''jose''? That site called him that 2-3 times from what i saw. ... and i am too slow. There was a Jose Uribe who played for the Giants back in teh day.
  5. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 02:13 PM) Last year the Red Sox traded with contenders. There was a difference.... The Cubs were not in their leauge. Montreal obiously was not a contender. Minnesota was also in that deal, but Minnesota got nothing but prospects. Boston wasn't actively helping Minnesota get any better. They may have been better passively be simply replacing Alhpabet with Morneau, but Boston wasn't sending them any key cogs. Also last year Boston was trying to win the WC. Minnesota had no shot at the wild card. They were gonna take the central. This year Boston has to be focused on the East first, and the WC second. The Sox and Twins are the most serieous Wild Card contenders to this point.
  6. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) Tell me about it. Who has a better glove at 3B right now in the entire MLB? Maybe Rolen, but that's about it. I think the list goes like this... Gold Glovers Rolen Chavez Silver Glovers -- Consistently great fielders who haven't gotten their due. Beltre Arod Bronze Glovers -- Consistently good fielders who don't get the credit they deserve... Crede Lowell Ask any Seattle fan, they'll tell you that Beltre's defense has been amazing. That is if their not so upset that he's producing like Joe Crede at the plate. The point is, they're not acquiring a defensive replacement at third base.
  7. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 01:13 PM) BUT- what happens to Crede? Can he possibly be dealt to the Mariners for Eddy Guardado? I know they have Beltre- but Beltre is capable of being a DH because Crede is a much better fielder. So many things to think about................... You've obviously never seen Beltre play the field.
  8. I refuse to see this movie or War of the Worlds.... You will not get my money you f***in media whores.
  9. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 12:28 AM) Dingo, Jizzcan, and Bajenaru are no where near the level that Urbina is at when it comes to trade value. Urbina has an ERA of 4.20 with 31 saves in 36 opportunities the last two years. Shingo has an ERA of 3.07 with 27 saves in 29 opportunities the last two years. Shingo has a salary about 1.5M lower too. I don't see why they don't have near equal trade value.
  10. Teddy Greenstein, what are you writing about this for... You're our media guy. You're supposed to be putting the Mariotti suspension in print. Get to work.
  11. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 12:17 AM) Perfectly fine with me. Let's talk. Marte makes sense. I'd imagine they'd have to get a third team in this trade, though -- I mean, they (the White Sox) wouldn't be able to keep Crede -- you can't keep him on the bench, he only plays one position, and doesn't even hit that well. So, we can start looking for a team that needs a thirdbaseman... If Marte were out the door, rest assured that KW would be on the phone with Seattle trying to get Everyday Eddie. I never get too involved in these talks because they never have much credence, but this one makes sense. That being said, BHAM said their were lots of Houston scouts at the BHam game yesterday. Morgan Ensberg anyone?
  12. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 12:11 AM) 2.5 million. The reasonable salary makes him more expensive on the trade market.... The Philly detroit deal was pretty much neutral in terms of $$$ exchanged. (d-troit save abuot $500K) I would expect a similar $$ neutral deal, if this were to happen. Marte makes 1.5M this year, 2.5M in 06, and has 3M options for each of 07&08
  13. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 11:56 PM) Mueller will cost more than a mediocre reliever like Dingo, Jizzcan, or Bajenaru. Polanco cost Urbina ..... They added Ramon Martinez too, but he is like TImo Perez. He has negative trade value. He actually hurt the package. I can't believe they found a team to take him. In other words, that's exactly what is would take to get Mueller is a mediocre reliever.
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 05:19 PM) So that was you on critics? Nice Yep, that was me. I ripped Jon Buch-O-Gras too (I'm not spelling his name right. I'm not even going to try) He said that $375K was 1/10th the salary of $37.5M on Sportscenter last night. Ouch. Math, not a strong point.
  15. LOL... at least I made Mac, Jurko, and Harry. First email too. They hate Mariotti too.
  16. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) Ask the 16 if they are against lynching, I bet they all say yes, they are against it. And if they don't, ask them what their neck size is. That'll change their mind real quick.
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 01:40 PM) Marcus Fizer Scottie Pippen They weren't redundant draft picks though, so at least they had something going for them.
  18. He's not listed among our draftees, but this article sure makes it sound like we signed this guy. Doesn't sound very good though.
  19. Anything with the "idx" at the end f*** up for me... I cant get back to the main page without retyping in Soxtalk.com
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) Do this, it should work. Yeah, my bookmark was messed.... I just typed Soxtalk.com in the address bar, and now we're cool.
  21. I just sent this to Kotex boy Chances of getting a reply?
