  1. I don't wanna hear about the ALC being the easiest division in baseball -- Houston lost Kent and Beltran Cubbies lost Alou, Clement, and Sosa Cinci's big signing was Eric Milton. Eric f***ing Milton for crying out loud Brewers had a good offseason, but are still a year away, and have no BP. Pittsburgh is gonna have Josh fogg in the rotation again. Josh F'n Fogg. St. Loius went out and got Mark Mulder to the weakest part of their team, which won over 100 games last year feasting on the underbelly of cupcakes in this "toughest division in baseball"
  2. QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) Just wondering. Is there a thread here?
  3. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 05:06 PM) As an Iowa alum and up until this incident, Alford backer, I agree with you 100%. Alford stuck his neck out for the wrong guy, and he got s*** on. Steve should have known better. If Pierce was a benchwarmer, he would never have been allowed to return to the team in the first place. Its time Alford hit the road. Bowlsby should get someone who can recruit players who can win and stay out of jail. I'm 25, and I grew up weened on the coaching Icons of Haden Fry, Dr. Tom, and Dan Gable. Those three left in such a short time period, and Alford looked like the most capable replacement. A little over 5 years later, this is obviously not the case. Alford hitched his trailer to the wrong pony.
  4. Haha -- first email from a fan after the interview: "Was that Jeromy Burnitz or Jeff Spicoli"
  5. Burnitz is on ESPN1000 right now -- He's baked of his ass.
  6. bizzump because I put CWS posts in the right thread.
  7. Alford should be run out of town with him... I haven't supported the Iowa BBall program for 6 years-- for 6 years the program has been continually underachieving and in a constant state of flux.
  8. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 03:18 AM) http://rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/p...ort=MLB&id=7177 With the Dback series of moves, I would say that Wilson is prolly the one that actually ends up there.... I don't know the salaries off-hand, but I would say that he's the highest of the bunch. And that's what AZ seems to value above all else right now.
  9. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 01:09 AM) All i can say is 22-0. Any questions? Yeah, when did NC join the B10 and start wearing orange?
  10. I'm replying just so you don't feel ignored.... The minor league rotations are pretty fluid up until the time the Big squad breaks camp. There's a couple guys you could probably pencil in at each destination, but trying fill them out now is just a good way to make yourself look silly in a few months
  11. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 12:42 AM) If Rowand puts up .310 24 69 .905 or if Uribe puts up .283 23 74 .833 again, I would be more then a little surprised. I expect some falloff from both, so I guess some fall off from the Indians offense wouldn't surprise me either. Then again, can I really expect 4 or 5 guys from the Indians offense to just fall off? I don't know. Maybe a couple, but I am not sure if I can expect half of them. Also...FWIW...I don't like the Juan-Gone signing. Why didn't they just hang onto Escobar or get someone else young who could have a chance instead of going for a guy whose best years are in the rear view mirror? They couldn't hang on to escobar -- In a bizzare situation where they claimed Phelps, they had to move someone from the 40 man, and they couldn't hide escobar on the 60-day DL(thus removing him from the 40 man) because he was injured after being sent to AAA. On a side note, I actually like the Lawton move... He was nothing more than a league average OFer, and Cleveland is a team with an abundance of corner OFer types... Blake is likely headed there with Boone stepping in. Rhodes was a such a good reliever prior to last season, that Oakland decided to hand him the closers role -- something he won't be asked to do in Cleveland. Guys like Martinez and hafner are either gonna turn into superstars, or the slippers gonna fall an the clock is gonna strike midnight. If you look at that indians line-up from last year, it's just like our 2000 team. Hitting is contagious. Across the board that team had great years... It's not gonna happen again.
  12. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 08:30 PM) I thought it was ridiculous because 2000 was not Keith Foulke's best season. Put the tin foil away. what was?
  13. OMG check out how many prospects from the last 2 world champions.... WTG kenny. This topic is a joke...
  14. I'm not impressed with the indians line up -- There were too many guys who had career years over there... think our 2000 rotation. Obviously they're not going to suffer the ridiculous amount of injuries we had from that staff afterward, but a lot of those guys are due for a backslide.... Does anyone think Uribe and Rowand are gonna hit better than they did last year? I know I don't. -- I know I don't expect the indians offense to be any better either.
  15. QUOTE(silver and black @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 10:58 PM) he gawn doesnt know what a true team is... Just wait until Bracey Wright goes from a 2.0 star rating to 4.5 over night around B10 tourney time
  16. Very fun game so far .... Illiniois has played very well -- Too well -- They should be leading by more. The one thing they have going for them is they haven't really gotten anything inside yet.
  17. No one's getting banned --- Indians has done nothing to get banned -- there's nothing wrong with a fan of another team coming to post here. I've never understood why fans couldn't just get along...
  18. QUOTE(Mr. Zero @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 06:09 PM) Da chort has some 'splainin' to do!
  19. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 05:56 PM) The point was we gave up Dave Wickman, for steve Sax.. I guess you still can't figure that out. Dave Wickman!??!?!?
  20. I can't beleive how lopsided the voting is... I'd rather see him on the Cubs.... He's not gonna hurt us there. While I don't think the Tigers are anything this year, with or without maggs, picking him up makes them a serious threat in '06 and down the road. Especially when KW discovers that the fast guys who can't hit suck.
  21. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 04:44 PM) 18" diameter means 18 inches ACROSS not 36 unless you meant radius then it would be 36" across not 18 If your waist is 18 inches wide, you wear at least 36" wait pants... It's simple math, or clothing construction. You need a front and a back to the pants.
  22. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 03:29 PM) She's too thick to fit through a basketball hoop, think about it. The Hoop is an 18 inch diameter... I don't think she wears a 36" waistband, so in theory she could fit.
