Non Tender Pitchers
Did you see what the Cubs, practically an AL team, did to him last season?

Non Tender Pitchers
Washburn and Fogg are the only two who I can think of off the top of my head.

Also quit your chicken little posts with the :puke smiley, 4th place finish predictions, OMGWTFLOL Randy Johnson is OLD rants, JR is a cheap bastard laments, and anything Eric Milton(wait I think that was butter) I'm sorry, longer Jeckle is sick of the situation the more I look forward to doing this. All in good fun Jeckle- Rosenthal: 4th team in RJ Trade Now
He was traded to Cleveland from Toronto, forcing them to make a tough decision with Escobar. They DFA'd him earlier this week. The Drays are trying to work out a trade for him... So we could get two players out of that odd set of moves. He's nothing more than a platoon player at this point, but he's young and cheap, and has a .900OPS vs. LHP. I remember we were also in a bidding war for some AAA 1B -- My guess is that he's probably a righty with good platoon splits too.- Jose Valentin = Dodger
Yeah, I just said in terms of defensive dificulty, you're not going to move your slow ass catcher to CF, (though the move has been made before). In terms of offensive production it's almost always the opposite -- The recent run of great SS's are the exception to the rule, but it would probably look like this DH>1B>LF>RF>3B>CF>2B>SS>C- Rosenthal: 4th team in RJ Trade Now
Hows this for a hypothetical, Konerko goes to LA... Sox get Vazquez + cash -- Sox have even more money, and the rotation looks like this. Buehrle Garcia Vazquez Contreras Garland Gload/Phelps platoon at first. Phelps can play C in an emergency, that's the 3 catchers that ozzie likes. Now there's added money for a MIF bat Polanco or Cabrera are excelent possibilities with the money left over. Pierz could also probably be fit into this plan.- Yankees vs. AL All Stars
SS is Tejada --- Jeter sucks- Jose Valentin = Dodger
In terms of difficulty to play defensively C>SS>CF>2B>3B>RF>LF>1B In theory, Jose should be all right heading right on the little chart is much easier than moving left. I've seen 2B and 3B reversed in the past before, but they're essentially the same defensive difficulty, just different skill sets. Jose should be fine. The more reps he gets, the better he'll be.- *Official* Clement to Boston
HAha -- Levine complaining about Carlos Lee's bunting... That's like complaining about the color of a bathroom in a house you're going to buy.- *Official* Clement to Boston
He also mentioned Milton, and Millwood :rolly- Jose Valentin = Dodger
http://msn.foxsports.com/story/3257650 Just wanted to say I told you so -- I said Bos, NY, or LA -- I guess this is how they make up for the loss of Beltre.- *Official* Clement to Boston
I don't have tix, as I don't have the time to request it off(I blew two sick days this week), I may be off that weekend, but I doubt it. I might be able to make it out there for a night or something at best.- *Official* Clement to Boston
I should have known better than to venture anywhere near Woodfield, Friday at rush hour, a week before Christmas. It was insane.- *Official* Clement to Boston
Well I just had a beer with MJ&H -- -- Too many people, no new news though.- Sox claim Bobby Jenks off waivers from Anaheim
I didn't read the thread, but surely this is inappropriate.- Timo Perez Signs One Year Deal
Timo Signs 1-year deal .... with the Chicago White Sox. :puke Keeping Timo becuase of a few clutch hits is about as stupid as getting rid of Kieth Fouke because of a few blown games, you neglect all of their other performances, Keith's good, Timo's bad. You always remember clutch hits, so you value them above all else. Case: Joe Crede's walk-offs --- You all remember them. -- How many times did Crede go down with the tying/winning run in Scoring position in the 9th this season. That's not as easy to aswer is it.. You all remember Shingo's blown save, but who remembers his 7th save where he threw only 8 pitches.(alright the second part of that is kinda made up, but I don't remember them, and I'm to lazy to look 'em up)- Nightmare PR possibility
yeah i separated the second part cuz I wasn't referring to Garland there -- More towards your loathing for anyone in the sox system despite their limited experience at the bigs. Clearly we've seen enough of Garland to be able to judge him...- Randy Johnson Trade Rumors
You may have hit the nail on the head with that one -- remember this quote?- Could RJ Being Dealt be a good thing???
I agree, but it could be that we end up being the third team.- A Seattle Mariners Related question.
Yeah, I'm not god with sushi.- Could RJ Being Dealt be a good thing???
I don't think this deal is done by a longshot. This could turn into the ARod deal last year.- A Seattle Mariners Related question.
Um the Mariners have a ton of cash available... Hasegawa running out on them freed up money last year, that because of being pitiful, they forwarded to this years coffers. Freddy Garcia isn't on the books anymore... I stated at some point early last night, when I saw the specifics of the Sexson deal ($4M in '05) That they would making sure there was space available for Beltre on the payroll... They have between 24 and 30M available depending on who you believe. They are not a small payroll team by any stretch of the imagination.- Nightmare PR possibility
I don't uderstand the if garland is #5 then he will have a lower ERA... You're still pitching every 5th day in the same league. You're facing the same hitters, in the same situations.... Nobody cares what number is attatched to your rotation spot. ----------- pitchers often don't suceed when they first come up.. Randy Johnson was 10-13 with a 4.48 ERA in his first two seasons, back before R/G got out of control. 4.48 was well over league average for the time. Curt Schilling was 0-4 in his first two seasons, with an pitiful ERA of 9.25 You'd be hard pressed to be an accurate judge of a pitchers longevity in the Big leagues based on their first few innings in the bigs. - Rosenthal: 4th team in RJ Trade Now
