A's Deal Hudson
look for another prospect(lower level) to be included to complete the deal -- I think this may have been the hang up... maybe a PTBNL

Sox STILL interested in Chacon
Mike Hampton had an ERA+ above 100 in every year that he didn't pitch in Coors field. They have not had a single pitcher lead their team in ERA in two consecutive seasons There's no telling what that place does to pitchers...The place breeds inconsistency.

A's Deal Hudson
Hudson has learned to pitch to contact, and sacrifice strikeouts, He's not going to get as much benefit as some expect from pitching in Chavez Ravine. Year, BB/9, HR/9 00 - 3.64, 1.06 01 - 2.71, .77 02 - 2.34, .72 03 - 2.29, .56 04 - 2.10, .38 Also K/9 00 - 7.52 01 - 6.93 02 - 5.74 03 - 6.08 04 - 4.91 Hudson is an extreme groundball pitcher. Those few HR's that he did give up would most likely still be HR's at LA too.

New Rumor
I could -- As far as his defense goes -- The best measurement I know for defense is UZR, which unfortuantely anavailable for 2004 because it's "owned" by one major league team -- I do have his 2000-2003 numbers, when he saved about 17 runs per 162 games(good for sixth best in baseball among SS) On offense he's a .271/.334/.399shortstop -- while the average SS has been about .26something/.320/.395 over the same time span I would say that a player who's above average offensively and defensively at their position is a "good" player.

Bears Vs Jaguars
good thing we brought in TJ because he has "good hands" -- I'd hate to see what bad hands were.

Winter Meetings
I started reading a bunch of blogs at the beginning of last season.. Since then I've clicked lots of links from those blogs -- If there's anything that's remotely interesting to me, I subcribe to it via RSS, That way it gets delivered to me when they update, and I don't have to search it out, or even read it if I don't feel like it. -- Today I have over 100 entries from baseball blogs that I haven't read yet. (though that's from a few days) No real reason, I started changing my name every few days on Baseball Think Factory (that's the "cool" thing to do over there) -- This was one that I changed to, I liked it, so I decided to chage it here.

I was just surprised that it wasn't a bump of an old thread.- Free Agent Resource
Great -- Now what am I gonna do with this tin foil hat.?- Nero Says Johnson never turned down the Sox
I've gotta figure out how to merge topics -- I'm useless as a mod.- Free Agent Resource
Yeah, Unfortunately that's not going to happen. If you're a FA major league pitcher there's gonna be something on an MRI that's not perfect. It's just the way it is. There's probably enough on every single one of our starters to "fail" a physical. Yocum, who the White Sox use regularly, was quoted as saying Wrights shoulder "looked cleaner than Colon's and Kelvim Escobar's" -- This was simply a case of buyer's remorse coming out of the yankees camp.- Leinart Wins Heisman
Norm Chow is the Heisman factory -- 3rd player in his offense to win it.- Leadoff, Shortstop
He didn't play at second at all in the minors last season, but when he was brought up he was clearly getting a look from Ozzie/KW at 2B. He played there more than SS. Also -- Jeckle, we know you like WH, but calling him the "ideal #9 hitter"(AKA your team's worst hitter), is not a compliment, or grounds to make him a starter of any kind.- Leadoff, Shortstop
Right now? Valdez. -- or Uribe I guess, with Valdez as short, to keep our infield as solid defensively as possible. I honestly don't see them adding even Cario, who'll ask for a starting job, without making a move to free up payroll.- Leinart Wins Heisman
wow it wasn't even close- Leadoff, Shortstop
There is no ideal #9 hitter -- That's just a false notion. #9 is the spot you put your worst hitter because it comes up to bat the fewest times. Idealy you'd have a #9 hitter with an OPS over .900, but that's not going to happen.- American SUVS
Ford recalled a similar number of Escapes earlier this week.- Free Agent Resource
I hope they don't get cash back -- at this time of year, the only thing I can get my hand on is store credit or some kind of gift card. - Dye
