  1. yeah it's finally catching up to last years post-season. It got off to a slow start though, the LDS games kinda sucked, well at least compared to last year they did.
  2. Tomorrow you've gotta throw Clemens for 6, Oswalt for at least 3, and Lidge until his arm falls off.
  3. '97 I missed game 7 of the World series. f***ing Calculus.
  4. I've watched almost every pitch -- Got home in the bottom of the first.. I missed the first run.
  5. Hunter on the block means they value SP more than fielding... They likely have the bats to replace hunter, but they don't have the arm to replace Radke. They have tons of OF options. Lew Ford could play center, Stewart in Left, and Kubel in right, and not really drop off offensively.
  6. Butter's right, the Raffy stuff is old news... Rock replacing him is new though... As for the Willie harris portion of this thread... HE'S A PLATOON PLAYER... .262/.343/.323 isn't great, but break it down into splits, and I can live with it. .279/.366/.335 vs. RHP is more respectable, and paired with a SS/2B that can hit LHP he would be just fine.... career .186/.234/.233 vs. LHP should never face a LHP EVER Polanco (who can play third if needed) is .322/.370/.503 vs. LHP. (lst three seasons) Vizquel (who's strictly a SS) is .262/.311/.371 vs. LHP (last three seasons) -- but would push Uribe to second. Eric Young (yep I'm gonna keep saying it) is .294/.383/.436 vs. LHP (last three seasons)
  7. according to him, the scores 4-4 and we're headed to extras.
  8. I didn't include anybody on the Cards or Braves... Those teams have great pitching coaches. We have Coop.
  9. I can't beleive so many white sox fans were able to score tickets to this game.
  10. I'm with you guys on the Kendall train... The Dodgers are really pushing hard for him.
  11. Bellhorn/Cabrera/Damon just gifted the Yanks an inning. 8 pitches. Losers...
  12. Hockey would be the most likely to happen in because there's fewer "points" per game than the others. Baseball would be next. Basketball last.
  13. I didn't mention it, but I had thought the same thing, Catcher has to be an offensive spot then. Pittsburgh is shopping Kendall again..
  14. 107 pitches for lieber, sawks really worked him deep in the count.. 70+ in 5+ innings for schilling... Yanks look like they'll be the first to the pen, and that's not a good thing when your staff has thrown well over 600 pitches in 3 days.
  15. I love what pauly brings to this team, but I see a viable cheaper replacement behind him, who plays a better defensive first base... There would be money saved in dealing Konerko, or at the very least quality players in return. The infield Defense of Crede-Uribe-Harris-Gload would be great, and would make Lowe that much better. That is not a potent offensive infield, but I would expect to have a dominant SP staff, and a great offensive outfield if Pauly was gone.
  16. He won't get > $5M from anyone... I think he'll get on a sliding scale based on legth of contract $4+M @2 years $4M @3 years $3+M @ 4 years
  17. Nope I'm not a slave to names... but I am a slave to produciton, and understand the fiscal constraints that surround this team... You may not like the sound of Grieve and Young, but consider the alternative of Perez and Harris :puke. EY only played 20 games at 2B because of soriano, who's a selfish bastard, and wouldn't switch to outfield... EY has always had good range at 2nd, and he wouldn't be brought in for his D anyway, it would strictly be to platoon with Willie-can't-hit-LHP-to-save-my-life-Harris... EY is younger than Vizquel(by a month) . yet he's very coveted around here... Grieve has only once in his career had an OPS+ less than 102, and has a career mark of 112. Timo Perez clocked in with an OPS+ of 58 this year. :puke and a career mark of 81 :puke. Edit: I should add, I'm not advocating either one of these guys to get a ton of AB's, but we saw what a piss poor bech can mean for this team. Platooning harris, will help eliminate this teams terrible record vs. LHP last season, and replacing Timo/Borchard/whoever with grieve gives us someone who actually gets on base, while not sacrificing power.
  18. Catalanotto saigned a new deal -- He wasn't very good this season anyways..
