  11. The quote "I regret nothing" was during an interview about whether he regretted saying dispariging remarks about the cubs... Obviously the Cubs organization told him that they wouldn't allow such things to occur next season, and forced Stoney's hand.
  12. Here's the thing... there's 30 teams in baseball. If all championships were distibuted evenly, each team would win one every 30 years... 2 every 60. A team could go 58 years without winning and not even be at all outside the norm. (win 1 year, have every other team win twice, and win again in the 60th) 90 years is about as early as you can start complaining... We've got a few more left
  13. I've spent the last week volunteering after work everyday... I had to take today off, after I missed the game last night, and dozed off at the wheel on my way home last night. (thank god for rumble strips) I slept until 3:30pm today. I don't know if I'll voluteer again tomorrow, but I know I'm headed to Iowa for the weekend. My vote in Illinois doesn't make a difference, but I'm gonna make sure my voice is heard another way. /the electoral college is bulls***.
  14. Aaron's first 1059 AB's --- .290/.342/.475 41 HR's Carlos Lee's first 1064 AB's --- .297/.339/.478 40HR's Who would have wanted to get rid of carlos after 1000 AB's? It's just stupid.
  15. They had him sitting on the baseball tonight set, and he kept sliding of his seat he was so wet. /it was raining. you dirty-minded bastards.
  16. prior to '69 there was no ALCS/NLCS.... There was only World series.
  17. No, it means the Cubs will win next year. Next year, is their year.
  18. This just in, 45% of people are complete f***ing morons.
  19. I know many around here called that one back in February.
  20. Of the "big 3", Hudson is always the one I've wanted to have on my team.
  21. I'd love to see Nixon on the Southside. He'd be a great pick-up.
  22. That's a steal... But there's no way they do that. He only has $15M remainnig on the life of the contract.... Nobody's going to get a FREE pitcher.
  23. i knew he wasn't the first, but i thought he was the first to do it twice. so yeah, I guess you do learn something new everyday.
