  1. Good Job by Jon --- But it's time to get him out of there -- It's a 1 run game, and JG's ERA in innings 1-6 coming into today was 3.50, after the sixth its 11. something -- He's given up 3 HR's before the 7th, and 3 in the 7th and after
  2. I don't think JG gets credit for that one though -- as it wasn't of the GIDP variety
  3. The sox came into today tied for second in the AL in DP's turned -- The two today would move them into first.
  4. JOn Garland is now tied for second in the AL in DP's with 8
  5. Combined with DK's numbers here's all of Cabrera's Minor League stats Gulf Coast League » Orioles 06/20 to 08/26 2001 W L SV ERA G IP H R ER BB KO HR 2 3 0 5.53 12 40.2 31 29 25 39 36 1 Appalachian League » Bluefield Orioles 06/20 to 08/25 2002 W L SV ERA G IP H R ER BB KO HR 5 2 0 3.28 12 60.1 52 25 22 25 69 0 South Atlantic League » Delmarva Shorebirds 04/04 to 08/31 2003 W L SV ERA G IP H R ER BB KO HR 5 9 0 4.24 26 125.1 105 74 59 78 120 6
  6. I've got a Wi-fi set-up -- I can sit outside on my deck and surf the internet -- I also helped my friend split the cost of a cable connection by setting up a wi-fi between two apartments.
  7. I'm too busy schooling everyone in the weekly league I even pulled off a pre-season trade for Roger Clemens -- That's been a great deal for me
  8. FT's AB was only creditted as 17 pitches -- Hawk and DJ thought it was 18, they were wrong
  9. The last time I ran a mile, I ran a 4:41 -- Kap is just faster than me I guess -- Though mine was only 7 years ago --
  10. I've always liked Steve stone... However the few games I've seen this year, he just hasn't been himself --
  11. Olivo knows how to call a game too -- He was 2nd in the AL in Cathcers ERA last season.
  12. I think I picked him up a day or two after you dropped him -- I thought biddle would be the first guy in the majors to lose the closers job -- I don't think he's done that yet -- but there's plenty of season left -- I consider all trade offers.
  13. I can hear Chad Cordero's fantasy ranking creaping higher
  14. All was not lost guys -- I caught a BP ball from Tejada
  15. There was one incedent early in the game in 161 -- a guy got a beer dumped over his head and then started swinging (he was mouthing off about the cubs supposedly) Security was already there when the beer was poured on him and I think both parties were escorted out of the game -- Then there was a couple in Right field (low 100's) -- And a ton a verbal sparring in Right field bleachers
  16. I don't even know what that guy's deal was -- He never said a word -- He stood up, tore my sunglasses off my head, ripped them apart, then I tried to go after him(my brother held me back) he hit me a few times, Knocked me down, and then took of running
  17. Hangar over at WSI was sitting near me -- Apparently the guy who initially hit me/broke my glasses was a cubs fan. He fled after getting in a few good shots and nocking me over -- Hangar reported him to security -- I took off my regular glasses (and hid them under the bleachers while I was down) -- I got back up and began fighting with the rest of the crew ? I guess I can't really say what happened then -- I hit my head pretty good on the stairs when this one guy threw me down breaking the ruckus apart
  18. I'm crafting one tonight -- with the help of an english major -- I'm not a good writer -- tend to write in incomplete thought/sentances.
  19. Posted this on another board -- They were speculating that all fights were caused by cubs fans last night -- I guess they weren't -- I just copied and pasted cuz I don't feel like retelling the story, but thought you'd all like to hear it I got my ass kicked at the stadium last night --- - I am not a cubs fan -- This was my 5th game at the Cell this year - I sat with two Baltimore fans to my right and three to my left in section 159 row 3 - When the game was thuroughly out of hand, the fans to my left, got up and never returned - A group of 3 drunken frat boys replaced the polite Orioles fans - The Frat boys had been removed, earlier in the game, from mulitple seats at the request of people around them/ the proper ticket holders - They had been ragging on Larry Bigbie all night long -- Not that they new his first name -- or that they could come up with anythin more original than "Bigbie Sucks" - While they proceeded to lay into bigbie in the 8th -- allong with the Orioles fans to my right -- I told them to "lay off Bigbie" - They were actually calling him "Bixby" -- I told them the Incredible hulk wasn't playing left field - I informed them that Larry Bigbie grew up in Northern Indaina as a Sox fan and wears the number of his favorite player growing up, Harold Baines - They were completely hammered. They had been removed from those seats after the 7th, and had trouble negotiating the stairs on thier way up to thier "proper" seats - After I convinced them to leave Bigbie alone -- I became the center for thier misplaced rage - I did little to provoke the attack -- I asked the usher to remove them, as they weren't sitting in thier proper seats, and had already been removed from those seats earlier in the game --- - The Usher shook his head at me, and shrugged his shoulders, as if to say there wasn't anything he could do about it - rather there wasnt anything he cared to do about it - at that point, seeing they weren't going to be removed by the usher, They became extremely aggressive towards me. - I was expecting the usher to see that they were causing yet another disturbance and finally remove them, but that did not happen - The one "frat boy" said "I'd rather get thrown out of here than have that 'N' move me from these seats" -- They had been looking for a fight all game, at this point I had no intention of giving them one - I thougt I had done the proper thing by telling the usher to remove them - There were two guys in Row 4 directly behind the "frat boys" -- I didn't notice them, or say anything to them -- They were quiet and not disturbing anyone, even if they weren't in thier actually seats - But that's where the troble came from -- One of the guys in Row 4 grabbed the sunglasses off of my head, and broke them into multiple pieces - At that point, I have to admit, I lost it -- They were $180 sunglasses - I can't give an accurate assesment of what happened from that point on -- It all went by very quickly. Also I spent most of the time on the ground, or stopping fists with my skull ------------------------------ I have serious issues with the security at the cell last night -- I was present for the Royals game last year too, and I thought last night was worse I was never checked on by any of the White Sox staff after I had been thuroughly beaten To my Knowledge, Security never even entered the aisle between 159 and 160, where the entire event occured How far does someone to go to get tossed out of the game -- By all means I should have been last night (Although, not the instigator, I did throw a few punches, which should warrant a quick trip out of the stadium anywhere) -- But this group had been kicked out of multiple seats, Instigated a couple other small altercations, and even said aloud that they wanted to be kicked out I don't know what happened to the group that attacked me, whether they were tossed out or not. I know I wasn't. I never left the section. And stayed until after the game -- I wanted to talk to security, to ask what was being done with those thugs, but my brother wisely advised me not to. He said that they were "looking for me, and threatened to take him to jail", although he did nothing, Including help me -- ------------------------------------------ I know I don't post on this board, but I felt it important to get my story told -- Some background informaton on me -- I'm 24, I post prominently on another site , I had one beer at the game in the first inning -- So alcohol was not a contributing factor -- I generally go to about 10+ Sox games a year -- I don't go around looking for fights, and was not looking for one last night either -- I have not been in a fight since the sixth grade, and thats about what it felt like last night -- I'm ashamed to be linked to this incident -- I hated listening to talk radio on the way home last night -- I took quite a few lumps last night. I had "a minor concussion". Today the left side of my head is a little sore, but otherwise no worse for wear.
  20. Willie's still young. He hasn't figured out the whole major league groupie thing. Here's a handy guide for you Willie Home - Wife Road - "Girlfriend"
  21. Sounds like Ponson went to the Billy Koch school of quotes after bad performances.
  22. I'm ashamed to say I was involved in one (probably the most major one) of the altercations in the outfield tonight -- Too many drunk frat boys is right -- I recieved a pretty thurough beatdown by a group of them -- 5 on 1 is not fair -- Whats sad though is how it could have all been prevented -- The guys who started it had been kicked out of at least 3 different set of seats, and when they sat next to me, I asked the usher to show them to thier proper seats, He had kicked them out of the same seats in the top of the 8th. The one guy had trouble negotiating the stairs on the way back to his "proper" seats due to his obvious intoxication -- That's about all I remember --- The main instigator of the fight was escorted out of the section in the 5th inning, so why he was allowed back there, or even to view the rest of the game is beyond me --- The White Sox will be recieving a lengthy letter from me
  23. I could give a pretty good acount -- seeing as I sat in row 3 of section 159 -- wearing my red softball jersey, not a cubs jersey --- but I have a headache now
