The official Sox in 2004 thread
Just to add to Brado's post... Valentine has shown me that he should still be removed if against lefties, I don't think he can even approach his vaunted .150 career average against them. the Timo Perez AB was terrible... Actually I don't so much remember the AB -- It could have been a 25 pitch struggle(although I know it wasn't) -- He hit a Sharp? combacker to vasquez... He took a few steps down the first, trotting, with his batt in hand... Never made it to first, Never dropped the bat. It was his first action of the season and as far as I'm concerned it should be his last... If ozzie is going to do all he said he was goin to do, Timo should have been ripped a new asshole in between innings and Gload should have headed out to the field.

BREAK UP THE TIGERS!!!!
Last year we were complaining about our tough schedule after the break... This year, maybe all we have to do is hang around, and make a run late.

Yankees on Trial
Crimson, I saw maybe 5 minutes of Dersowitz' presentation, and all I have to say is there is no way that guy would be representing me at trial.... I only caught about 5 minutes it but his weak ass argument was what mad me flip the channel.

How about.... (vs RHP) Valentin (2003 OBP close to .350 against righties) Lee (hits them better than lefties for some reason) Maggs Hurt Konerko Crede Alomar (hit them better than lefties as well) Rowand Uribe (vs LHP) Rowand (hits lefties, can run a little) Olivo (ditto....should see more fastball mistakes in front of boppers) Maggs Thomas Lee.247, .700 OPS over last 3 years vs. LHP Valentin Konerko.325, .966 OPS over last 3 seasons vs. LHP Crede Uribe What kind of preotection does Lee give Frank, the most feared hitter in baseball vs. LHP, ?

I don't know why, but I found this quite funny
Anyone notice anything funny going on there.

I nominate Aaron Rowand for the #2 hole... Jose's stats -- Last three years.. Carlos' -- Last three years... Aaron's -- Last three years...

sure... willie gets on base by any means necessary (HBP could be his best option) he then causes vasquez to concentrate on his position instead of Jose at the plate, this could result in vasquez accidentaly hitting joses bat. If nothing else it takes three pitches to strike out, and willie could steal second, and maybe third before Joses walks back to the bench.... where he's ready to be driven in by maggs or frank...

I know it's only been three games, but there was a ton of questions marks surrounding the top of the order before the season, and over the first three games, none have been answered... -Willie Harris has been on base once in 2 games... .111OBP -Jose has looked down right stupid vs. lefties. -- 0-for-6, 6K's -In three games, Maggs has come to the plate with the bases empty in all three first innings. -The 1 and 2 spots have combined for a .080 avg and an OBP of .120 It looks to me that this is the weakest part of the sox game, not the bullpen, or starting rotation... Am I the only one who see's this lineup an extremely pressing problem??

OFFICIAL GAME THREAD FOR 4/8
I've got to agree with you here.... I had missed much of the last two games staring at a this damn computer screen the last two days... So I made sure I watched every pitch today... Here's my impression... -Shoe escaped today with a decent line -maggs and crede saved him today -He was getting hit hard everytime he got near the zone -He could be successful this season -- but he looked a ways off -The line doesn't show it with a swinging bunt, sac fly, and solo home run -- but if he pitches the way he did today, show will have an ERA above 6 -Jose has looked really stupid far more than he has looked comfortable at the plate this season -Frank's batting eye has been impecable this season -- He really got sqeezed by that bad call in the ninth -The team as a whole is in trouble with the top of the order the way that it is currently... Willie/Uribe haven't gotten on base, and jose has had trouble makeing contact behind them. -- This lineup is a recipe for disaster.

Official Game Thread 6-19 Montreal
This just in: Vlad is no longer with the Expos... Also the Yankees continue to use the Expos as thier farm system... They gained the rights to Nick Johson, Vidro, Armas Jr., and Livan Hernandez in exchange for Drew henson's used razor (he left it behind), a half stick of juicy fruit, Alfonso sorianos fake documents, and 1983 primer grey Yugo. The deal will not be complete until the Yugo can pass emissions tests, which should be before game time. Drew Henson's razor will fill an immediate hole in right field, the Juicy fruit should be an asset to the 'spos pen this year, but the others are prospects and probably a couple years off.

I can slow it down, but there's going to be no way I can get that text changed... That would require a few hours of tedious pixel-by-pixel manipulation.

White Sox - Yankees Preview
Thanks for the legwork willie... I was confident going into this series until I saw our limitted experience vs. the first three starters.... We all know how well we crush pitching that we haven't seen before....

Bulls getting embarrassed.......again
That score is made worse by the fact that NY got their azzes kicked yesterday by Indy. It's not like NY is a top team in the league.

I called the early start of this thread 4 hours ago... I just expected it a little sooner.

Twins' New Turf
I wold say that Konerko should retain most of his stolen Base threat. Even if it does slow him down a little, he's got speed to burn.

guess who pitched 6 scoreless innings
I just reread this thread, to see where it all fell apart. AND...Once again you've come off looking like a complete ass... Your first comment in this thread was "WHO THE f*** CARES!!!!! IT IS OVER AND DONE WITH! GET OVER IT!!!!!! ". You then proceeded to reply to something you don't care about and are obviously over, 21 more times... Through the arc of the thread you first claimed, that we shouldn't be discussing former sox here on soxtalk(funny I don't remember you chiming in on those threads where I posted the doctored images of Bartolo Colon), to contesting whether Kip would suceed in the AL, to arguing that PNC park was a pitchers park, (when I showed you the park factor for the past two years has it favoring hitters to neutral), to denying an incredibly simillar career path to Curt Schilling(which shows why you have to be patient with young pitchers). I have only glanced over the trade in one post, saying that I didn't want to send anyone away. I wanted to develope talent from within. You're the one who keeps bringing that back up. I'm over the trade, I was the day after it was made. That doesn't mean that I have to stop following Kip's career. He was an integral part of one of my favorite Sox memories, and a nice guy, so excuse me for wishing the kid well after this organization gave up on him. I like to follow guys on their progression from the minors to the majors and how thier careers develop. It just so happens that I'm a sox fan, and like to see guys who rose through the ranks of our system suceed at the major league level... I'm pulling for Aaron Miles this year in Colorado. Following these players is not dwelling in the past, it's celebrating the present. Thier success or failure is how you grade out a farm system, how much major league talent does it produce, and how good is the quality of talent that it produces.
