Welcome to the Majors, Luis! He actually had a higher xBA on his shot (.600) than Leury (.540). -

Agreed, beyond of what should be a day or two off per month (same with Tim and Abreu), they are the best options. Teams will get beat, it's baseball, but the team this streak has been lethargic and sloppy beyond a few efforts like Rodon and Lucas. When everyone returns, and Tony feels more comfortable giving the infield core a day or two off, without having to play banged up or ill like Yoan and Jose, hopefully communication will improve. Still need to drill the OFers to hit the cutoff. -

The pitcher is so slow, they really need a pitch clock. -

Nice Abreu could take there, didn't have to swing because of Yoan running. -

The sloppy play from the weekend, the rundown, Moncada's throws, and then the dropped ball Sunday, though that should have been called by Lamb. Moncada's drifting into others the entire season. -

The touted improvements in being “prepared to play”, the details such as fielding responsibilities and fundamentals that Tony and his coaching staff (increased from Ricky’s staff by at least two) were “supposed to improve” have not been in evidence. The Sox lead the league in errors, even regulars such have Tim and Yoan have been sloppy out there lately, with Jose, Vaughn and Billy Hamilton the three exceptions. Lots of airmailed balls from the OF, some by Eaton were absolutely brutal. The team also needs to improve focus at the plate. The past five games have been brutal in terms of the collective approach, swing at the first pitch, continued flailing away at pitches down and out by Jose, Andrew, Yermin. The team has looked like they are the final hour on the clock on a supermarket shift, and just want to get the fuck outta there. This is what needs to improve, regardless of who is playing. -
That's not even the most embarrassing video. All four videos are linked in this SCORE article. https://www.audacy.com/sports/mlb/max-scherzer-clearly-frustrated-after-third-substance-check I'm embedding the fourth tweet, where Max stares down Girardi while leaving the mound after the inning, and Joe Girardi leaves the dugout and challenges Max to an argument and or physical confrontation. Joe was immediately ejected, and I hope he gets suspended for his actions. If you see something and are near or at 100% certainty, call an appeal. If you are "taking a shot" with minimal / no evidence, you don't think the opposition is going to stare you down, possibly put a ball upside your hitter, for calling an appeal with no basis? Perhaps your team loses an inning at bat, or the manager gets a 10 game suspension if they falsely accuse a pitcher. This is even more wack. Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Freddy Peralta had his glove confiscated for having spider tack being too light in color, in the estimation of the umpire.

Philadelphia grows on one over time. A manager should have to point to something specific if they are calling for an additional inspection beyond the already scheduled inspections of each separate pitcher when they leave the field.

Aim higher, much higher. Frank's hitting is comparable to Mike Trout, at bat, though Mike has the advantage as a fielder and base runner. Keep in mind Frank's averages were weighed down because of his injuries, and playing until 40. Mike Trout is still at his peak, will likely regress hitting, will definitely regress in terms of averages if he plays until 40. HR/162 Mike Trout 39; Frank Thomas 36 OBP Frank Thomas and Mike Trout Tied at .419 OPS Mike Trout 1.002 Frank Thomas .974 MVPs Mike Trout 3 Frank Thomas 2

Believe JR's timeframe much smaller, in a few years it will be someone else's (likely his son's) problem. The only spending I've heard about since Hahn's "my team is on the floor" comments is the family actively buying out minority shareholders, paying pennies on the dollar because they have no other options to cash out.

It's solid, but the lack of movement this year and significant drop in spin, year over year has led to hitters being able to hit the once video game like pitches they were facing last year. 2021: 4 Seam 2340 Slider 2185 2020: 4 Seam 2503 Slider 2415

The Sox have played sloppy baseball all year, lead the league in errors. They gave the Pirates hitter a single on that play.

Hey, Tony made both correct calls. Collins got Lucas through his start, another good one, and Grandal swung the bat on a pitcher at the end of his start and homered. I have to do what it takes to keep my high Game Thread Winning Percentage.

And Yermin is third, what does that to do with the fact that Grandal and Yermin have done shit the past recently like the rest of the core starters. Tony started his ass 19 times in the top 5 spots and he has done dick, because he is challenged by pitchers and either strikes out looking or grounds meekly into the shift.

Tell me how Grandal walking in the six hole is going to make a difference, and Lucas gives up more runs. Collins had one of the best swings tonight. The top of the order has been absolute shit. Grandal has done shit the past few weeks, just like the other "MVPs".

Pirates remain patient, Lucas is now over 100 pitches. Tyler Anderson is at 66 pitches. The Sox lead the league in errors, continue to make horseshit decisions in the field, and are going through the motions at the plate with poor approaches. The manager needs to make sure his team have a better mindset and prepared to play baseball.
