  1. Hemond also gave us Dick Allen. Hired Chuck Tanner a manager and yes,he hired and brought in a young and smarter manager in 1983 named Tony La Russa. We do not have that Tony, he is gone. JR also turned the team over to Hawk and he s destroyed the team for years, firing TLR who went on to win 3 World Series. Management MATTERS WE DON’T HAVE THAT
  2. Some of us Sox fans from the late 70’s early 80’s may remember this: The 1983 White Sox were a very good team. Built to win. There was a player on the team named Tony Bernazard, our 2nd baseman and considered “the heart and soul of the team “. Similar to Tim Anderson or Jose Abreu. They were floundering and were very mediocre. Roland Hemond, who I consider the all time best GM in White Sox history decided it was to to shake things up. He traded Tony right around this time for Juice Cruz. Cruz WAS NOT a better player than Tony. BUT Roland thought he needed to make a statement. Shake things up, Wake EVERYBODY UP. REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THE TRADE? Look it up They crushed it won the division going away easily NOW A KNOW RIGHT AWAY you going to think I’m advocating trading Anderson or Abreu, NO I AM NOT. something needs to be done to shake things up, FIRE TLR? MAKE A TRADE? Something has to be done to shake things up Again I’m not saying to trade the heart and soul But something has to be done don’t say we’ll we’re injured and when everyone comes back we’ll be fine that’s bullshit all teams face injuries and our bench is not that bad DO NOTHING AND WE WILL BE 81 and 81
  3. We’ll lose, but not get destroyed. We seem to do a little better sometimes against good pitchers then shitty high era pitchers that everyone thinks we should crush. We never do. I think Cueto will do ok BUT he will serve up a few. TLR will put up a shitty lineup like he always does when a day game follows a night game. Maybe Toronto plays their crap also.
  4. Now let’s talk pitching. LOL. Pitching in better shape then the defense and offense. Cease, Kopech, Gio, and Lynn are good. Need to extend Gio before the end of the season. Bullpen is ok for now.
  5. They are still shit. Abreu looks like he’s waking up, Burger becoming a force. Anderson, Burger, Vaughn and Robert ( if he can stay on field for more than 3 games in row) are the offensive future. Engel will be a good bench guy. Jimenez I think will be in and out of the lineup forever and can’t be counted on. Abreu has one more year, maybe, than Vaughn takes over full time at 1st and Abreu moves to full time DH. Don’t know about Sheets, he could become a Joey Gallo, 230 hitter and home run or bust. There names escape me but the 2 young Cubans could be great but they are not even on the 40 man roster so they are a few years away. If Moncada won’t play second we need to get one. Just venting.
  6. Let’s all face it. With TLR as Manager, our 1st and 3rd base coaches and our defense and injures, we’ll play .500 ball all year.
  7. Yes I agree Caulfield, but not working out. Tough to be superstar from a hospital bed.
  8. Robert is supposed to be the next Mike Trout. He is as far as days on the DL.
  9. Attendance is not the problem. management is the problem, injures are the problem. I went to about 14 or 15 games last year. This year zero so far. They won’t get a dime from me this year.
  10. Vaughn is the answer and Abreu’s eventual replacement. Sheets still needs time. He may become a Gordon Beckham, an ok player but not a star. Vaughn is for real. I think Burger, if he plays will fuck up from time to time but get better. Moncada can’t stay on the field, Burger is the answer at 3rd, eventually. Give him a year and 500 at bats. Vaughn is the example. Playing everyday and getting better everyday. Will Robert and Jimenez ever play 120 to 130 games?? Doubt it. Physically overdeveloped players pull muscles, groins, hamstrings etc. …
  11. If we made the playoffs (Fat Chance Now) and the opponent is Toronto, we’d be without the Selfish Cease and Graveman
  12. We will probably get swept. Kopech will pitch a great game tomorrow but the the defense will allow 2 or 3 runs and Sox lose 3-1.
  13. We suck !!!! Thanks Danny and Reese
  14. Danny and Reese and coaches cost us this game
  15. Could we have a miracle? NO
  16. Watch TLR Rest Vaughn after a 4 hit game
  17. Now we’ll face their closer in the top of ninth who’s having a great year. We are toast!! I jinxed Robertson on Sunday maybe I’ll jinxed this guy??
  18. He’s hitting way way below the Mendoza line. Showing my age with that reference
  19. Now we’ll see what YG is worth his huge contract
  20. Reese attempts a bunt?? Who the hell gave him that sign??
  21. Greenline, not sure if Ron Washington is the answer but I guess anything is better than TLR. He’s allowing The baseline coaches to take too many chances. He lets players dog it on the base pads. McGuire not running full speed and Mendick running will cost them this game. POOR CHOICES. POOR COACHING AND MANAGER AND MANAGEMENT FOR NOT STANDING UP TO JR WHEN HE WANTED TLR. As big an idiot that Hahn can be, he wouldn’t of hired TLR IF IT WAS HIS CHOICE WITH NO INTERFERENCE.
  22. I agree Pauline, almost the same lineup but not the same lineup if you know what I mean.
  23. No excuses Non juiced, juiced balls. You need to get better coaches, a manager and maybe a better trainer. All these groin pulls, hamstrings etc. is poor preparing in spring training. Isn’t the trainer supposed to have a plan to get these guys in shape? Also I have also blame the players for their off season conditioning. Regardless of the shortened spring training, come to camp in better shape. We need the baseball version of Phil Jackson and replace TLR.
  24. what I really don't want to see is desperate trade made. this division is still weak and Minnesota will fade. When the Sox are 100%, they will start steam rolling hopefully
  25. As I said in my previous posts: Burger 3B, Garcia SS (Switch Hitter) Moncada moves to 2B (Switch Hitter) Grandahl C/DH ( Switch Hitter) TLR would have 3 Switch hitters in the lineup to combat teams throwing all righties against the Sox and when Grandahl is the DH, McGuire catches and tht's another lefty bat. Grandahl should DH only against righties. McGuire should sit with a lefty on the mound
