  1. Agree. Tony does not like to adjust. He is old school Earl Weaver type of waiting for the 3 run homer. No running game. Station to station baseball. Bad bullpen management. No sense of urgency. Need to change strategy.
  2. It was unfortunate that Grandal was the runner making a hit and run less likely. But the Abreu DP could have been avoidable by hit and running with Robert at first. TLR will not hit and run with Abreu or Eloy at bat, and we are stuck with one double play after another. We need a different manager next season.
  3. Another double play. A lot of our weaknesses have been exposed today: - Hitting many double plays. No running game. - no catcher defense. Pitchers not keeping runners close. Can’t throw anybody out on the bases. - Bad bullpen management. Keeping faltering starters in too long. - Bad pitch selections. Challenging tough hitters in game situations. - lack of in game adjustments. Very predictable station to station baseball. If we don’t have a multi homer game, we probably lose. Food for thought.
  4. AJ called for Crochet to walk Bregman to get to the lefty Alvarez particularly when the count got to 3-0. Bad pitching selection probably cost us 3 runs. You don’t throw a fastball strike to Bregman on 3-0. Then strikeout Alvarez to prove their strategy was wrong. We are getting beat with fastballs with pitchers with a nasty slider. You figure.
  5. TLR has no sense of urgency and no desperation.
  6. TLR left both Rodon and Kopech at least one batter too long.
  7. A fastball right down the middle to Maldonado with 2 strikes was not smart.
  8. A bad combination of our pitchers not keeping runners close and bad throwing by Grandal.
  9. They are running us out of the ball park as predicted. We can’t throw any runners out.
  10. What about a hit and run with Abreu and Robert at first. Abreu has led the majors in double plays hit the last three years. TLR should know better. He never adjusts.
  11. Agree with AJ. Bring in Kopech to blow away the righty Correa. We have no margin for error. Walks also killed us, but we had a better chance to get out of the inning with Kopech. TLR tends to leave starters in too long in game situations.
  12. Rodon will be on a short leash. Worth taking a chance. Lynn is not a good match up.
  13. Liam should be the face of NationalCursing Day.
  14. You are right. IMO Sox will probably need to hit some homers for us to win tomorrow.
  15. Formula is be patient, work the count and build up his pitch count, avoid swinging at sliders out of the zone and look for the fastball to hit. Easier said than done, but if we execute we are in business.
  16. I believe he threw 72 fastballs out of 76 pitches, although it’s fair to say that he has 3 different types of fastballs.
  17. Lynn not a good matchup against the Astros, the best fastball hitting team in MLB, with Lynn being a fastball pitcher.
  18. This looks like a prototypical fat cat. What is it’s net worth?
  19. Agree. Not going for HFA with the best home record in the AL and worst away record in the playoffs was a no brainer. We could have done it, we punted many games with Sunday lineups and Keuchel starts.
  20. Little guys can hit it a long way too. Look at Altuve.
  21. Problem is that Lynn is not a good match up versus the fastball hitting Astros.
  22. Gio should not have been pitching then. Walks did indeed kill us in that game.
  23. Great win for the Sox. Probably the best game of the year. All of TLR moves worked out tonight. He outmanaged Dusty.
  24. Particularly with the 3 batter rule.
