ALDS Game 1- White Sox/Astros, 3:07 GAME THREAD
Agree wholeheartedly. The shame was that we were so close to winning HFA, less than a Handful of games, far less than the number of games we punted. The proof is in the pudding, so will see after this series if TLR and his defenders were right or not.

HFA was a must. We overdid the resting, particularly if we don’t get by the Astros.

Would have started Giolito today andCease tomorrow. Lynn at GRF. Not having HFA hurts. Team is more listless that they would have been at GRF.

ALDS Game 1- White Sox/Astros, 3:07 GAME THREAD
We got the worst of all matchups today. Lynn a fastball pitcher against the best fastball hitting team in the majors, and McCollough one of the best breaking ball pitchers in the majors vs a Sox fastball hitting team.

About time. It was a no brainer to hit and run with Abreu at the plate in possible double play situations.

Sox are a fastball hitting team.

Glad they ran Moncada and we avoided another Abreu double play. Abreu has led the majors in double plays hit the last 3 years. We need to adjust accordingly.

Expected. TA doesn’t generally take walks.

Combined with dreaded lead off walk. 2nd lead off walk in game have both scor3d. Sox weakness at catching defense also exposed. Guess fastball pitcher Lynn vs best fastball hitting team in MLB was not a good match for the Sox to begin with.

Agree, but it should have been a hit and run.

It should have been a hit and run. Maldonado has a cannon and a straight steal is dicey at best.

Sheets D at first is much worse than Jose.

TA also needs more patience. He just swung at a slider 6 inches off the plate to Strikeout.

SOX ALDS ROSTER
I am glad Goodwin is off the roster. His defense does not belong in the playoffs, and he has not been hitting well lately. Also prevents TLR to use him.

White Sox-Astros Game 1 3:07 Start Time
Agree. We need to work the count and avoid swinging at sliders outside the zone. My second big concern are issues related to the running game or lack thereof on the Sox side. Need to have more runners in motion than in the regular season ,and avoid double plays. On the other side, we need to keep opposing runners well checked as we probably have the worst catchers defense in the playoffs. Opponents will try to run us out of the park. We will need to minimize walks and base runners thru excellent pitching. IMO.

It would be brutal in many other ways beyond Jose. Pitó is also Spanish slang for penis.

Hawks regained popularity after they started broadcasting games locally, after old man Wirtz passed away.

If that would be the case, I would prefer to go to a sports bar to watch the game instead.

Cubs have been sucking up all the Chicago air in the last few years, but tables are beginning to turn the Sox’s way.
