Madrigal was one of the few contact hitters in the Sox lineup. Sox need more contact hitters as we have observed throughout this season.

Problem with the Kimbrel deal was that we did not really need him. We already had Hendricks plus Kopech,Bummer, crochet and had acquired Tepera. Second problem was that we grossly overpaid for CK when we could have used resources instead to obtain the RF that we sorely needed. The Kimbrel trade was the Quintana trade in reverse.

Agree with you150%. I could not have said it better. I grade it a D because of Tepera, otherwise I would have graded an F.

Great for Billy. Wish we do more running going forward. Steal a run here and there, move the runners over to scoring position, hit and run to avoid double plays and pressure the defense, open holes in the infield.

I can’t imagine playing Goodwin in the outfield in the playoffs. There is no margin for error in a 5 games series, to take a chance with a AAA type erratic outfielder like Goodwin that can cost us a game.

Starling Marte or Kris Bryant would have looked pretty fine acquisition at deadline, instead of having to depend on scrubs like Goodwin.

A good defensive outfielder with pop, everyday player, was our main need at trade deadline, not 2 more relievers, especially an expensive reliever like Kimbrel.
