  1. Nice surprise. He closes the game successfully.
  2. Mike Wright is back for the 9 th.
  3. Glad Wright was not pitching at GRF today. That bomb would have been a 3 run homer.
  4. Why is Wright still on this team? He is terrible. I can’t see him being on the playoff roster.
  5. You are right.Leury should have tried to steal earlier.
  6. No doubt. Sheets bat is more valuable, and defensively he can’t be worse than Goodwin who is bad.
  7. With Robert not in the lineup even more.
  8. at least Sheets was in motion and we avoided the double play. Need to put more runners in motion. Sox have the third highest ground ball rate in the majors.
  9. He is their Goodwin defensively.
  10. Anderson needed to make contact and get the runner over to 3 rd. Two Ks in the inning did not help.
  11. No Robert or Eloy, but no Goodwin either. Still, looks a bit better than our usual Sunday lineup.
  12. I believe we should have counted down where we stood behind Houston for HFA on a daily basis, instead of Worrying so much about Cleveland. I think not getting much pressure from Cleveland made us take the foot off the pedal. Would not have been the case with Houston.
  13. Respect your opinion and hope you are right. However IMO Tony is no longer performing at a HOF manager level. We are in a different era now.
  14. We may pay a big prize for being so non chalant. about HFA, prioritizing rest/Sunday lineups over getting HFA. Sox have the best home record in the league. We may be over doing the resting thing, particularly if it results in the Sox not going beyond the first series because of not having HFA.
  15. TLR lacks the killer instinct to use all available weapons late to go all out fo r a win. How many times have we seen Mendick, Billy, Goodwin, Sevy hitting late in close games, with our “resting” guns sitting on the bench. Hardly ever putting runners in motion to avoid double plays or getting runners in scoring position....
  16. Goodwin has been horrible. His D is bad, and now he is hitting in the .220s. A good defensive outfielder with pop was our main need instead of another reliever. We needed to get Goodwin off the roster.
  17. When we are not hitting homers we are generally losing. We need to mix in some small ball, put runners in motion, pressure the defense.
  18. Small ball hurt us tonight. Rangers had 3 steals, bunted runner over. Things that we don’t do. Our station to station baseball doesn’t work well in close games unless we hit some homers.
  19. I wished they would have gotten more days. We need a break from both.
  20. I am for keeping Leury. He is a high energy guy who can play several positions and is a switch hitter.
  21. And Cubs fans will suffer for another decade.
  22. Robert is getting into “don’t let Robert beat us” territory within our opponents...
  23. Tony has locked away his small ball playbook.
  24. Particularly with no double play possibility.
