Grifol is bad. We dodged a bullet. It could have been a 3 run homer , it hit the wall. No way thatt the lefty Banks be allowed to pitch to Duvall.

The philosophy looks to me is to swing away early in the counts , and swing for the fences as often as possible. Unfortunately,we don’t have many contact hitters or consistent sluggers. Need to change philosophy to more patience at the plate and some small ball leading to homers with men and not just solo homers. IMO.

You are right. Sox did not really need Grandal. Should have spent that money on a power hitting outfielder Instead. Another Hahn screw up, which he repeated trading for Kimbrel, when we did not need a closer but needed a 2B and a RF instead.

Except maybe leaving Lynn one batter too long with 105 pitches.

The White Sox have the worse defensive infield in the majors on the field now. And one of the worse catchers. It’s hard to win close games. A decent 2B would have made the play with 2 outs in the 9 th to win the game but TA did not get in front of the ball.

TA grounds out to SS with RISP. Another walk scores forBoston. Vaughn drops a popup. What else is new.

He is one of the slowest runners in MLB and one of the worst defensive 1B.

But we don’t love walks to be on base when we hit homers.

Was watching Cubs-Cardinals game from London. Nick Madrigal went 2-4 with one RBI. He is hitting .260 with only 14 strikeouts in 127 AB. Announcers were reminding me that Nick is a very good contact hitter, which we desperately need with all our free swingers. He would have been more useful than Kimbrel-Pollock. Another bad RH move , probably due to his bromances with relief pitchers.

I am afraid that a fire sale will be coming, with the main purpose being a salary dump and we will be left with an even worse team. Hahn will not cut favorable deals and will end up with even more relievers. IMO.

Only the Royals and Oakland have worse records than the Sox, and you know how bad those teams are.

Rick Hahn has not been an efficient GM. Has not gotten a good return on his payroll investments. He should be canned.

RH will probably trade our starting pitchers for more relievers.

Every White Sox pitcher tonight has pitched well. 17 Red Sox strikeouts, a season high for them. Our problem has been our terrible offense, lack of clutch hitting with RISP.

Sheets keeps making the same mistake. Swinging at balls over his head with the same bad result. No adjustment. He should be benched.

Lucas also hurt himself with the hanger to Denver’s for a 2 run homer. One pitch has been the difference so far. The errors also hurt.

OK but maybe that would work with better hitters than we have on a roster now. We have too many hitters that can’t hit a slider/ breaking pitches. The aggressive attack is not working so we should adjust.

Coaches have to start giving some take signs to those guys swinging at everything with no positive results. Show some patience, work the count and wait for a good pitch to hit. These guys will not take a pitch voluntarily otherwise. We need to change, what we are doing is not working.
