  1. I am pulling for Lopez to be good again. It would be awesome if he made it back and became a successful pitcher. I am doubtful, but maybe he can be a reliever. We also must remember that Lopez was a big part of the early rebuild moves. Hahn dealt Adam Eaton to Washington for Giolito, Lopez and Dunning. Dunning is gone, but he helped secure getting Lynn and Giolito hopefully will get his game back. Having Lopez be productive again, only makes that Eaton trade that much more powerful.
  2. Whether you were joking or not is irrelevant. The Sox after 33 games are not a B team. You cant lead MLB in so many categories as they do and have anything but an A. Where they will be at 60 games, 120 games or 162 is not the argument here...that's for a future debate. It's based on today only. Things do change but just like with standings, power rankings, it's week to week...and right now we are an A team.
  3. 29 teams spent more than Cleveland. That is there dumb fault they didn't spend more money to keep players from leaving or going after better FA's to build a better team. Plus Cleveland has no chance of winning the World Series, so who cares how little they spent. If you are implying Cleveland is a dangerous playoff team, then you should immediately put a bet down at Rivers for +3300 for the Indians to win the world series. LOL!
  4. I get your point. Is it ideal? No! However if we can score over 5 runs a game right now which is #1 in MLB, then imagine next year when Vaughn becomes the power hitter everyone expects and Eloy returns to the same power numbers, how explosive this lineup will be? Vaughn look very good in left so far and probably could handle right and Eloy although not that good could handle left. I agree ideally Eloy is DH period. But unless Yermin learns to be a quality catcher, we don't have many choices. Btw, Robert's injury had nothing to do with playing OF.
  5. We are the best team in the AL and maybe not right now, but by the end of the year, the Dodgers will be the best team in the NL. How great would that be to beat the Dodgers in the WS who spent almost twice as much as us to put a team together?
  6. Actually if Kopech moves full time into the rotation we are probably one of the few teams in MLB who could go with a 6 man rotation. I like the idea of a 6 man because then if you need to push the starters some innings on starts, they will be fine with the extra day pitching every 6th vs 5th day.
  7. I'm not convinced Mendick is better defensively. He sure the hell isn't a better hitter. If Madrigal bats 2nd, we don't need him for power. We need him for hits, making contact, moving runners along, OBP. I'm not saying Madrigal couldn't be traded. I'm just saying Hahn likely isn't going to trade him when he took him so high in the draft.
  8. I get you are trying to be facetious and making sarcasm of my comment. However my point wasn't about the obvious that Robert is athletic and fast. The point was for all the naysayers that think its risky or dumb to put Eloy and Vaughn together in the OF with Robert.
  9. Nobody here is expecting Vaughn and Robert to be super human, you are exaggerating things. We do expect them to be all stars.
  10. It doesn't matter what Marco Paddy said, Yoelqui was rated by MLB as the #1 international prospect in his class and a five tool future potential player. Whether he makes it or not in the majors is up to him and how our minor league coaches develop him.
  11. Vaughn hasn't made an error yet in left. That seems pretty competent to me. Plus you aren't going to wear Robert out covering more field. He enjoys it and he is a top level athlete who covers extra ground with ease and not some struggling effort. Again the juice is worth the squeeze with that OF combo to have that much hitting in the lineup.
  12. Exactly...Rumors and rumors are nonsense. If there were any trade talks with Madrigal, then it was from other teams desperately needing a 2B and offering to acquire him. That shit happens all the time in baseball. The Sox have what other GM's covet...lots of talent they wish they had. At this point though it would make no sense for Hahn after drafting these two players so high and then just giving them away so early in the game. Again the haters of Madrigal need to get off this soap box he doesn't hit for power crap. He is hitting .299, scoring runs and playing a solid 2b. Btw, if you trade Madrigal you have to replace him with someone at 2B. Who will that be? Leury Garcia and his .209 BA?
  13. He has an electric elite fastball and when his slider is on that's electric too. Plus last year as a rookie he was lights out. I do worry he struggled in a few outings, but I think he will be just fine. What we should be more worried about is Marshall. He has been hit so hard this season and not even close to the pitcher he was last year.
  14. I've been a Sox fan for a long time and I find this so refreshing and enjoyable that we have to debate and struggle over which Sox player will win ROY. In my time I've never witnessed this much young talent. It's discussions like this that make appreciate the job Rick Hahn has done in this rebuild. How lucky are we as Sox fans for the next several years.
  15. Totally agree with you! What many here don't seem to get is that Robert is an elite gold glove CF who probably covers the left center and right center portions of the field better than almost every other CF in baseball. All Eloy and Vaughn need to do is stay out of Robert's way and don't make any errors in their same section of the field LOL! 😉
  16. It's not about being offended. It just isn't going to happen. Rick Hahn isn't going to trade away this early, his two highly touted players that he drafted #3 overall for Vaughn and #4 overall for Madrigal in back to back years. They are both too young and have too much upside to trade away.
  17. Personally I don't give a shit where we are ranked in HR's, Xtra base hits and TB's if we are winning like this. I care about scoring runs which we are #1 and having good pitching, which we have. What I do know is we are getting a ton of timely hits which are producing a lot of runs and that my friend is so much fun to watch. The HR's will come. The #1 team in MLB for HR's is Atlanta with 51 to our 29 HR's. However even hitting 21 less HR's, we have scored more runs than Atl and we are in 1st place, 7 games over 500 and they Atl a game under 500 in 3rd place in their division.
  18. I know that. My point was its not as long as the MLB season and it would be nice if he could get a full minor season in like Madrigal and Robert did 2 years ago. He not only has to show he can hit at Birmingham, but also do it at Charlotte. The fact there is still some Visa issues makes you question if maybe this will take longer than we think. One thing the Sox have been good about over the last few years in this rebuild, is always letting the fans know how the progress of the top prospects in the minors. They did this with Robert, Madrigal and Kopech to name a few. It's puzzling to me the Sox are so quiet about this.
  19. Look who is showing rage. lol I told you I am done with you. Move on!
  20. But they didn't lose and spanked the Twins 9-3. It's pretty simple now, the Sox have the fewest losses in MLB and best winning % in the AL and 3rd best in MLB. Not to mention, but I will for you, they are #1 in MLB in runs per game at 5.24/game, #1 in AL in OBP and #2 OBP in MLB, #1 in ERA in AL and # 3 in MLB. Your comment that if they lost last night to the Twins they would go to a D, is just plain stupid. Through 33 games early in this season the team should get some type of an A grade. Again this is based on right now compared to their competition. This isn't about oh well, it's early and let's wait and see crap. It's right now and In a few months if that changes, then fine, we'll have that discussion then. For you to be so harsh on the Sox, makes me think you are either a Cubs fan and Sox hater and on this forum as a Troll, or the biggest wack job contrarian! LOL! 😀
  21. I guess we will have to agree to disagree. B is a good grade but when you are one the best teams you should be getting an A. It doesn't matter about let's wait until the rest of May to play out, as it's based on today though 32 games and through 32 games they have earned an A in my book. when June starts we can give them a new grade as well as Tony too.
  22. Not worked up just confused. How the Sox are only a B relative to the rest of the league is I guess a debate, based on you using a tough grading scale. However you lose your creditability when you give TLR a B when he clearly isn't even close to a B.
  23. If he is good enough by 2022 to be up here, isn't that a great problem to have. We would for sure have great assets to trade to another team for a need we are weak at.
