Thoughts? Can Hahn bring him up to solidify the bullpen in 2024?
The Sox have hipmotized their fans into dysfunctional thinking

Cronin and Shaw. And some people claim there can be no tank. Oh, there's a tank.

in the minors we have the next Randy Johnson. The next Corey Seager. The next Aaron Judge. The next Tony Pena. It’s going very very well, super high rated.- 1

Dude is 25. Time to play him every day this year and see what you got.
He can always move to first base or right field if he can't stick at catcher.
Ugh

This guy has cracked top 100 lists before. He's a catcher who can actually catch. Maybe he'll hit some day.
Well if you’re gonna be the organization that collects first baseman catchers and DHs, may as well try that approach

This trade is real good - like it a lot. Like a lot. These are live arms.

Tanking is definitely an option and probably a likely option now, not sure why it’s being dismissed. Doesn’t matter if you intended to rebuild it if you have to rebuild it
Yeah that was a confusing stipulation

I'll say this for the Rockies: They fired their GM.
Hence, the difference. Not that the Sox have a better chance of making good decisions after any firings. But you gotta crawl before you can walk.

Some, time, some where, some day, Moncada will be back on the team. Burger has 22 home runs and 44 rbis. Moncada probably won't hit 22 home runs the rest of his career. I'm really curious to see if they bench Burger and play Moncada full time. Its time to move on from Moncada. Even if they have to release him and eat his money. So be it.
Burger is it.

stick with Burger! BURGER FOREVER!
(Or at least until such time as there becomes a better plan)

Eloy will be gone but who will take Moncada off our hands.
Honestly I always say never trade low on a young ish guy. But I have lost faith he will ever have more than one season of health in him at a time. Which is against the odds as well. I say it’s worth doing to trade him now if there is some reasonable return out there.

Well from what In reading, the Cubs pick was more of a Happ type. At this point I prefer a more focused SS prospect. Although one can argue that a utility player is important in the Sox situational uncertainty condition.

A nice win, but the Sox hitters still swing at too many pitches outside the zone. They had 13 K's and zero walks.
An important detail as the final score, given the context of how the team has played the entire year

We’ll it’s not like he’s going to say “yup we suck, it’s over”
They don’t have to say it’s over. They also don’t have to indicate a self-delusion. Just talk about competing etc. Blah blah blah blah blah.

Damaso Marte was a trade...along with Cotts.
Well, Matt Thornton. Who wasn’t a disaster before he got here. Just that the Sox shined him up and he became a gem. They have tried to do this countless times, I don’t know if they thought they had the Midas touch. They don’t, and it hasn’t occurred to them they don’t.

I get why they did this of course but big picture what does it say about the organization that six years after the rebuild started in a so-called "window of contention' they are having to resort to picking up stiffs, has been's, flotsam and jetsam because they have no one else available or ready in their own minor league system.
🤡
The Sox once upon a time like 18 years ago signed a lefty reliever with a great arm, but couldn’t get anyone out. They transformed him into a good player, so ever since then they decided to become the patron saint of guys that can throw a brick through a battleship, but can’t hit the catcher’s mitt.

This kid seems like a pretty mediocre ceiling Sox type pick.
Maybe not a massive upside, the Alexei Ramirez feeling. Which is fine. Although this kid has a little more power potential depending on what you read.

Well, it was a good direction they took with the pick anyway. Lacks speed as an infielder. I still have recurring Wes Kath nightmares. But this kid won’t be him at third. He should take over when the Moncada mistake is passed.

The level of delusion of this man is straight up clinical
He wants unconditional love. And there are those people out there that fall in love with players and don’t care to look critically. But again, most fans love the laundry, the names come and go. Tim Anderson misunderstands sports fans.
