  1. We don't really have anyone else. Just hope he figures his s%*# out. I'm way more comfortable going to him then a rookie.
  2. His start against Cincinnati isn't one that came out of nowhere. Let's see what can be done. He did look a bit better in the last two innings and I actually think he would have been ok going 5. We'll see. I think the key to Reds start was he relied almost solely on the fastball and change up while mixing in the sinker when needed. Also changed arm angles really effectively.
  3. With the Rangers loss, our playoff magic number is now:
  4. Had to be done
  5. I don't think he pitched badly against Boston or quite frankly even against the cubs. His defense really let him down against Boston and the home run he gave up was actually on a really good pitch. Don't think he was particularly good tonight but he battled his ass off and I think was finding something in those final two innings. Would rather see a start like this than Burke's last night because he kept the pitch count low.
  6. When I get home, will upload #25! We all know what it'll be!
  7. Torn on if we should bring Taylor out for the 8th. I think he could go an inning tomorrow if we pulled him now. But he's still got it.
  8. Better. I think we'll keep on scoring. Would take 6ip and 4 runs.
  9. Balls and strikes are actually getting worse the further we get into this. Teams are scared to lose challenges and umps are getting away with it.
  10. Benni bloop. Still furious that Romo didn't make a challenge to what could have been strike 3 in the first. Not a proponent of blowing challenges but it looked like it touched the zone.
  11. Yeah but the offense isn't great. Boston is the team that scares me. Yankees offense and their bullpen issues as well as their defensive lapses make them vulnerable. Those vulnerabilities were on display against us.
  12. Guardians pulling away from the pack with the wild card is probably a good thing for our overall playoff chances.
  13. I reiterate this but anybody who thought the cubs would catch the brewers this year were out of their minds. You cannot drop multiple games in a row and expect to catch a team like that this is so well drilled and basically working from muscle memory about what they have to do down the stretch.
  14. I do think it's interesting that the two MLB teams that resemble City in terms of their relentlessness and ability to go on insane runs to hunt teams down are Milwaukee and Cleveland, two small market teams. I do think the Brewers are a lot more relentless than this model of Cleveland. It basically requires a team to be perfect down the stretch to go toe to toe with them. Don't feel that way about this year's Cleveland.
  15. I will say that as an Arsenal supporter, I do feel like I have some immediate experience of what this is like. In other words, I have supported a team that has felt like it's being chased by the T-1000 from Terminator with Man City. There are some similarities with the Guardians and City but this also feels like how I felt about City last year, being a team with real vulnerabilities. Guardians pitching isn't as good as what it was in their pomp. They got away with it against the Angels. But there are teams they will be playing that won't let them get away with it. It does feel like a psychodrama though.
