  1. It's pronounced fung. Man, that was fun(g). My brain is in such Sox mode right now that I must have dreamt that Abreu hit another grand slam (I know he had an opportunity) so when I woke up I could have sworn it actually happened. Had to watch the highlights to confirm that he did not. Granted, I was also blasted drunk. Some dude kept playing the jukebox last night at the bar so we didn't have the sound on for the game which was annoying. The worst part is he had good taste in music so I'm sitting there bobbing my head but also pissed I can't hear the game. I just watched the Yermin home run replay to hear the crowd...legitimately brought a tear to my eye to hear the roar of the crowd again. Can't wait until the stadium is full. It's kind of sick how much I love baseball.
  2. HAHA! I text my buddy, I'm like yeah Madrigal has the yips. That's it. It wasn't the ball. Excuse me while I go F myself...
  3. Most Cub fans I talk baseball with love Benetti. So take that for what it's worth. Not to be all "hehheheh sCrubs sux" but in my experiences it's pretty difficult to talk baseball with Cub fans who actually like baseball. So the fact that they like Benetti is....telling.
  4. 9:10 comes pretty late these days. I was desperate.
  5. I was talking about TV. I should be drinking, stupid on call schedule.
  6. It does suck, but if you have to play them I guess get them out of the way. Looking forward to ducking out of work a little early to watch the game at the bar on Thursday for the home opener.
  7. Sorry if this was addressed, not going through all the posts to find out. No pre-game I assume? Looks like between Bulls post and Hawks there isn't room for pre-game?
  8. Eloy gone sucks, but remember this team doesn't have a complete black hole at DH and RF this year either. Well, DH remains to be seen, but I'm trying to not cry right now.
  9. Chalk this one up to "the other 42" Hawk always talks about.
  10. For being the 2nd best catcher in baseball, Grandal just doesn't pass the eye test for me. Maybe a full season will change my mind.
  11. KK.....and a third strikeout. Your boy isn't trying to get cancelled.
  12. I can't wait to listen to sports radio tomorrow if they lose tonight.
  13. What I'm really trying to say is trade everybody.
  14. Hey, we got a full season, fans in the stands, and a lot of fun players to watch. So there's that.
  15. Losing 30+ home runs in your lineup is never good. This we know. However I think this roster is in a much better position to attempt to make up for it than last year. Remember, last season the Sox had essentially no DH, no RF, a disappointing showing at 3B, and 2.5 starting pitchers if you count Cease. Oh, and a CF who was non-existent except for the glove the last, what, half of the season? Third? I'm too lazy to look it up. With the added pitching depth/improved performances (we hope), removing Lopez from the rotation, adding a serviceable RF, a constantly evolving Adam Engel, a revitalized Moncada, and still having a lights out bullpen, I'm still pretty optimistic. And this is coming from a guy who generally tries not to get too high or low when it comes to expectations, I try to stay in the middle. And I never even mentioned the runs saved from him not being in the field. Moving forward I'd like to see them package Vaughn for another pitcher. I'm not big on armchair GM speculation, but it would make sense if you can put Eloy as a full time DH.
  16. (First post, been around various boards since 2001, last place folded) Our company launched a program where employees can sign up to get the shots because many of us are "essential" due to being customer facing and in the field. Keep an eye out if anybody here is in a similar work environment. I'd imagine the size of the company means something as well. And I think it extends to purely office personnel as well. Maybe it's a "since we're here, might as well" kind of deal.
