  1. I was saying you can't pinch hit for him because of his salary and how much the team is "counting" on him this year and years to come. In terms of trading for him, yes, being big n somewhat fat is a concern or should be for GMs. Apparently he can't catch up to fastballs and is frozen on curves. Is the gut a concern? I am no expert. I dunno.
  2. I'm glad these 3 are all night games. I hate day games in the Cell.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 05:27 AM) Cubs announcer likes to be the public apologist for awful Cubs' hitters. Come on man, Sergio hung no fewer than 10 pitches that inning, he's just lucky Soriano and company are awful. well if Sergio sucks then team is really screwed because he's all we got out there as far as a closer candidate.
  4. Nice to win a game in which we left so many on base again. That's why you have to play a good defensive lineup. We can't hit, so no more Teahen at third.
  5. OM gosh, he was soo good. As Cubs announcer says he was "filthy." Sergio is good.
  6. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 05:21 AM) There was not a better fit on the market to fill the DH hole, nor will you find anyone else who was so incredibly consistent. Or is ALL his past production irrelevant? Is he or is he not too heavy?
  7. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 05:20 AM) Soto, Soriano, and Pena are all capable of tying this thing up by running into a pitch. Yup.
  8. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 05:18 AM) Kenny made the right move signing Dunn. That was the prevailing conventional wisdom too. No one knew he'd suddenly suck almost as bad as Juan Pierre. I disagree. Or at least they should have a weight clause where he didn't get paid if he was too fat.
  9. And get used to it. Dunn will be making those type of outs a long, long time.
  10. QUOTE (soxsider11 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 05:16 AM) Yes yes yes Please. You have to let Dunn bat there. You don't pinch hit for the 15 million dollar man.
  11. Sox can't get the insurance run cause they are the Sox. Hopefully the Cubs don't turn into the Oakland A's in the ninth. The Cubs suck, Sergio. End it!!!
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 05:15 AM) I thought letting Baker face a lefty and then bringing in a right to face Ramirez (who has been awful against lefties this year) was bad. But pinch running with Brent there when you know they'll walk Paulie, then bring in a lefty for Dunn is far worse. Does our manager watch the games?! What does it matter?? He wouldn't hit the rightie either!! You been watching Adam Dunn???
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 05:12 AM) Did y'all really think they'd keep in Lopez vs Dunn? If there's no PH'er here, any bets that he K's? Why wouldn't he leave him in? Dunn can't hit righties or lefties. And no, you still don't pinch hit for Adam Dunn. Not with the money he's making.
  14. Take one for the team, Adam. Let the ball hit you. Pretty please. HBP now!!
  15. This is where Adam Dunn has to earn some money. He has to get a hit. A rare home run would end the game.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 05:08 AM) He's a professional athlete. He could stop and let it roll, OR run past it, retrace his steps and follow it back to the base so Fukudome doesn't advance. It's not rocket science. I'd like to hear Stoney on that one. As a former third baseman on the college level, I charge the ball and upon charging that ball I have no choice but to field it.
  17. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 05:02 AM) f***ing Ozzie. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 05:02 AM) Brent Morel just f***ed him THIS inning by not letting that ball roll foul. Ozzie? What did he do now? Are you crazy? Any good third baseman charges the f***ing ball and upon charging that ball Morel had NO CHOICE but to field it. If he lays back on it, fine. He was charging it!! He had to field the f***ing ball.
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 05:00 AM) Because the defense behind him has decided to f*** him in the ass all season long which has raped his confidence. This is what I don't get. Everybody says not to worry about our team cause it's so early in the season, 90 games left, etc. Well, why the f*** can't Matty overcome some s*** that happened in APRIL?? Why should that kill the confidence of a f***ing multi-millionaire?
  19. Our relief corps is quite bad. Guys can't strike people out.
