  1. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 12:51 AM) 1st and 3rd with no outs an NL 2.0 gives up an out on a squeeze. This is why crooked numbers are hard to come by with our team. We have to overcome our handicap. CQ lousy at bat, ground out to third. Only one run thanks to the bunt.
  2. I hate it when people still b**** when Juan does something great. Why b****? He excelled there???
  3. Pierre bunts first pitch, nice bunt run scores; Juan barely out. Safety squeeze. 2-0 Sox.
  4. Morel like a true pro, goes to right and slaps a single with 2 strike count. First and third no out.
  5. BTW those boos after Dunn's K were really loud. Nice 2B by Alex. Smooth swing. Nice stroke.
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 12:43 AM) He needs to give Pierre 3 months off to clear his mind, etc. Yeah, I don't think he's given Pierre 2 days off in a row yet. Just one day and not that often. Maybe Pierre got the 2 day treatment, I forget. Juan and Omar combo is sleep enducing.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 12:41 AM) I'm getting really sick of taking shelter from storms. How's the game? I have no power. Same as usual. Paulie makes Garza look like a bum. HR. Everybody else makes Garza look like Verlander. Mark doing well ... so far.
  8. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 12:41 AM) Or taking a long look at Omar as a starter. I don't think so. I hope not. Omar is way too old to play this much.
  9. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 12:40 AM) Umm......no. Why not? He'll still be paid 15 mill? He can't hit the ball. He needs an eye exam at the very least.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 12:36 AM) lol. greg i have to hand it to you, you are good at absolving ozzie from blame. when he puts the worst players on the field, it is the players fault Gordon's had 2-3 days off. It's obvious what Ozzie is doing. Giving him the dreaded 3 days to clear his mind, etc.
  11. Dunn really needs a stint in the minors. I wonder if he'd agree to it? Garza just blew it by him. Not even a challenge. Just throw it in the strike zone hard and Adam can't hit it. Lilly has as many bombs as Dunn. Adam has something like 38 hits in 210 at bats. That's hard to do.
  12. If Konerko doesn't make the all star game, all of Chicago should f***ing storm the commish's office!
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 12:27 AM) your favorite manager knows how to put these lineups together, doesnt he? Unfortunately I know what he's doing. Giving Beckham 3-4 days off to get his head clear like he has done with other guys in godawful slumps. In a way I blame Gordo for his suckiness cause that's why Ozzie's done this.
  14. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 12:23 AM) 9 innings of absolute horrid Cubs shutout baseball. This is so hard to watch thank goodness I did not pay to see this s*** live. I agree, but it's only one inning. Not so hard to watch ... yet. It seems like we've given the Cubs a break not playing Beckham. Omar is too old. He and Juan at the top of the order is ridiculously bad.
  15. Why do we hit so many pop ups? That was a cookie. CQ coulda crushed it in a gap. But nooooo. End of one 0-0.
  16. Cubs announcers don't like Ozzie kicking the mask last night. Say there should have been confrontation. Omar and Juan are worst 1-2 punch in baseball at a top of order.
  17. I don't know about Chicago but the weather here has been horrid the last 2 weeks. Thunder boomers moving in and out every day or every other day. It's really weird. Hail, tornadoes, crap.
  18. I just got a new HD TV. Does anybody know if my game on WGN will be in HD or does WGN have an HD station like ESPN, etc? Thank u As far as Sandberg, yeah it'd probably be an unpopular hire 'cause of his Cubbie background. I just kind of like his style.
  19. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 11:38 PM) Plenty of managers should or should have been fired by those standards. Those are Yankee fan standards. Anything short of a WS is an epic failure. Yes, but remember when manager salaries weren't quite as high where a start like the White Sox had (and are still having) would guarantee the skipper's axeing? Teams that have high expectations and suck eggs need scapegoats, i.e. the manager. Of course had we won the WS a year ago, the goodwill would still be there. But six years later, not so much. I think even Oz wouldn't have b****ed too much had he gotten the boot in May. Although he prolly woulda thrown KW and maybe some players under the bus.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 11:52 PM) Greg, since you are constantly predicting we'll lose games, why do you think Ozzie should keep his job? Do you really blame everything on KW and the players and not on the manager at all....after watching this same show for 2 1/2 years now? Not, Ozzie will be great in the NL, Ozzie will lead the NL is sacrifice bunts to move the tying or winning runs into scoring position in the first six innings, Ozzie will be missed and the White Sox will become irrelevant without his crazy antics, Ozzie loves the White Sox and is loyal to a fault to JR (ooops, not so much, going by his recent comments). What makes you believe he can turn around this mess? I agree it's time for Ozzie to move on. He shoulda been fired when we were sucking eggs at 10 under .500 or wherever the Sox were in late May. I just think he's a good manager. Just too bad the team is so dysfunctional. If we can him, I prefer Sandberg. I think he'll be tough, yet quiet.
  21. Look. This is all on KW and the scouting department. The NBA at least knows what it is getting in players in terms of character. Their scouts do ALOT of checking. Rios is a turd (regarding his laziness and loafing with the security of a big contract). You can polish a turd all you want, but a turd remains a turd. That's on the White Sox organization for taking the turd. Oz sat Rios consecutive nights after his little blow up, didn't he? At least one night.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 07:47 PM) That at-bat wasn't a home run, it was a line drive right back up the middle at Gavin's head. Castro has hit plenty of those all season. There are very few hitters in the Cubs lineup that can beat you, and Castro is probably the main one, I'd rather avoid him if possible, I don't care which inning it is. Make Blake f***ing DeWitt beat you. Sox just what the doctor ordered for Garza. Cubs 6-1. Memo to Adam Dunn. You could be THE difference in this game as you could have been yesterday. You may want to earn some of that money at some point.
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 05:47 PM) Christ, at some point you just go after some motherf***ers. That was Castro's whopping 2nd homerun of the year. Gavin throws that same pitch to anyone and it's a bomb (unless of course, it's the White Sox, who have an inability to hit hanging breaking balls). Exactly. Give me a break about pitching around guys. Our team sucks. Period. Maybe at some point the team will improve and get to .500. But pitch around him? That's stupid. Get him out like Humber would have.
