  1. Moral of this season's story: A lot of us said that it was a miracle, albeit a pleasant one, we were in the race at the all star break. I mentioned I was hoping we would treat it as a new season and MAKE SOME MOVES to improve the team. We did nothing but swap Jackson and Hudson and no matter what we are hoping, we are NOT IN THE RACE. Unless Minnie has a complete meltdown it's over. All because the management was fooled into standing pat. (I realize they had a deal for Lance which was turned down by Lance; that would have been the wrong guy anyway). Hopefully in the future the Sox will become a team that adds players during the season. Last year we added Rios and Peavy; one worked out.
  2. The Royals announcer LeFevre had an epic meltdown on West during that lights delay. It was hilarious. God he was pissed. Screaming, "Really Joe??" How did Hawk and Frank handle it? LeFevre was incensed saying tomorrow's game starts at 1 p.m.!!! Obviously he is hioping to get 4-5 hours sleep.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 02:43 AM) Ozzie's gut...go back and look at this thread. You're so right, no f***ing chance he should have let Garcia face Aviles. That decision cost us this game, IMO. I just got caught up on the thread. My goats: 1.) Sending the runner home in tie game. We win if we score there. 2.) tie Bobby and Santos. Both obviously failed. By the way, Lilly should be sent down. If a weak pissant like he can't lay a bunt down there, he is WORTHLESS!!
  4. Mr. Sergio Santos lost us that game. Bob Jenks just made it a formality.
  5. The Sox are patsies for Central Division opponents. We are equal opportunity: We beat none of 'em.
  6. I don't know, but Santos wet the bed against a piece of s*** named Yuni.
  7. How in the hell can a successful person like you with great intelligence blame the manager for that gopher ball?? Man. It was Santos' meltdown, baby.
  8. Bah Humber-bug. I'm hungry. Gotta go eat. 2-1. This game has a bad feel to it.
  9. Rios has one homer since July 19. We probably need to accept the fact he ain't gonna be hitting home runs the rest of the way?
  10. If Rios homers here, we win the game. We need a Twins' like clutch hit.
  11. Doesn't Juan lead the league in stolen bases? You a hater?
  12. Gotta love Juan for coming through there. Yuni looks like he don't wanna play tonight. I would expect he'll be benched in Game Two.
  13. Gordon, you got to hit the ball in the air there. How bout a RBI.
  14. I repeat, the Royals are playing like clowns. We need to score here.
  15. It's amazing how quiet is is at Royals Stadium in this and every season.
  16. These teams are acting like they don't want to play til 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
  17. How can a professional hitter like Butler not hit that over the fence? How can we not hit the hack the Royals are pitching? I guess that's baseball.
  18. This game looks like 2 bad teams playing each other right now. We'll see if it changes.
  19. How can a lefthanded hitter like Teahen take that pitch? My god.
  20. Royals are playing like dopes this inning; we need to make 'em pay!!!
  21. Fathom I do respect you for getting on Rios. He's kind of off limits on the board, cept for you. I like your willingness to blast the golden boy.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 21, 2010 -> 11:58 PM) But I thought you liked Ozzie cause he doesn't care about baseball's "code"? And BTW, I still think your reasoning is awful. It was the 5th inning for your platoon player. Not like it was the 1st inning for one of your everyday starters. I think he does go with the code most of the time. I was pointing out that in the playoffs/WS in '05 he let our starters finish games. That was against the norm, not the code. The code is not bunting in the seventh inning or later on a no hitter, etc.
