  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 08:01 PM) Its official, if the White Sox don't win the WS, its not the lack of Jim Thome, its not Peavy getting hurt, its not AJ not hitting or Quentin hitting .230, its not Kotsay, its not the pitching staff's April and May, it all because of Joe West. Hawk has Frank taking shots at him now. This telecast is beyond nausiating. If it's any consolation, the Royals announcer LeFebre has brutalized West all weekend as well. It's not just Hawk. If you want to try a good announcer, check out the Royals' Bob Davis today. He's good.
  2. Somebody was through this before. They could not do that for some reason, believe me.
  3. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 04:01 PM) He should play Any hope of increased playing time? As well as Castro's nice hitting....I believe Cowley said on the Score recently that AJP and the organization are looking to go their separate ways after the year. You can bank on one thing: He will sign in the Central and he will kick our ass for a couple seasons. It's the Sox way and the Sox jinx.
  4. FOX Sports restrictions. They were not happy bout it either.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 01:56 PM) So let me get this straight. They thought that by 10 PM the weather would clear up to play? Then why warm up Jackson at 6:30 and let him pitch to 2 batters? If for some insane reason, which actually did occur, the ump decides to start the game minutes before a major storm was about to hit then why warm up Jackson at all? Throw in a scrub for those 10 minutes of game time and when the weather MIGHT clear several hours later and it looks on the radar that they'll get in in then you could warm up Jackson. But I know....this is some sort of insane rationale. It's using the technological tools available to any Tom, Dick or Harry so lets just waste a pitcher for no reason. There's no magic involved Greg. Just readily available data that they've effectively used many times in the past. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 06:53 PM) One hour is probably about 3 innings, and you can stall. Remember, Ozzie is the guy who popped off during the 2005 WS that he was an inning away from putting a position player in to pitch during game 3. He probably was full of s***, but blaming the umpire is ridiculous. Even if he just went by the info he says he had, he was willing to lose Jackson after 2 or 3 innings, which isn't even an official game. I'm not arguing if it was wrong to start the game. Obviously it was. Blaming West and having Hawk say about 10 times, AFTER saying the Sox would win the Central, say West's call could be the deciding factor in the race, is ridiculous. Don't stoop down to West's level. The Sox had the same info he did. They are just as responsible for losing Jackson as anyone. If the game went 5, it was official. If that's what West had, I don't see why he would be at fault. For what it's worth, the media out here also is roasting West. They have a baseball team, too, you know, and they were upset by the loss of a starter and the DH and Sunday game all within 24 hours as well. And I did hear that the game would be able to go at 9 or 10. In fact it would have if not for the power outage. Fans were pissed at 9 when it stopped raining.
  6. I'll give credit to three guys and three only. JJ Putz ... Freddy Garcia ... Mr. Pena. And an honorable mention to Juan Pierre. Otherwise, sorry it's embarrassing to struggle so mightily in a pennant race against the KC s***heads. If we don't take 2 of 3, we don't deserve to win the division. There I said it. GO SOX!! Go Danksie!
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 01:27 AM) There is no code for handling someone hitting 0.000 against LHP. Swap him out as you see fit. Sqwert, then why play him at all if you are going to f***ing play lefty/lefty crap in the fifth inning? You don't understand. I agree DO NOT EVER PLAY KOTSAY. But if you do have to play him ,you are saying he is a major league starter, and major league starters in the AL don't get pinch hit for in the fifth inning. Sir, they don't. It's that simple.
  8. With all due respect, squert, you are losing your mind over your dislike of Ozzie. My god ... the game was scheduled. I just heard TODAY that the forecast was for the game to be OK starting at 10 f***ing p.m. Royals annoucners also were pissed and the whole pregame show was about this issue. They also lost a starter in the series. You go with your regular starting pitcher. How mad would you have been if the game had been f***ing played and we started Linebrink?? Think about what you are asking of Ozzie here. If you called Rongey's show on this he would laugh you off the air or hang up on you so quickly. It's nonsensical. Jackson was scheduled to pitch so he f***ing warmed up to pitch. The game started. There was supposed to be a game played that evening. It was a travesty orchestrated by West. It was a sad thing that happened and a shame it had to happen. But ... Ozzie should have magically known the game would be called so he should start Liney?? Are you insane?
  9. QUOTE (aprec32 @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 07:12 AM) Its just sad because honestly this team should be 3 to 4 games up. Not 4 down. Should be 3 games up? With this bullpen?? I love the Sox but get real. We were totally lucky to get one of these tonight.
  10. Do they still have neighborhood bars on the south side like when I was a kid on 70th and Kedzie?
  11. Farmer is awesome! I love his call this half inning so far.
  12. The bars close at 1:45 a.m. in Kansas, what bout Chicago?
  13. We are going to lose this game. Wow.
  14. I listened to the Royals announcers in the ninth thinking it was good luck. Sorry. Now I have the Sox announcers on.
  15. It's so bad that we lead the horses*** Royals of all teams by one run in the 10th and I fully expect to lose this game still. Wow.
  16. A squeeze now would have been great, but I'm not confident Juan would have done it right.
  17. It's official. These are 2 mighty bad baseball teams on the field tonight. Nice at bat you two with a runner on third. My god.
  18. That's how you lose baseball games on the road, folks. Nice at bat, Juan.
  19. I agree if we squeeze it will not work.
  20. So why not praise Oz for that development? It evens out, follks.
  21. The problem is not Oz calling for bunts; the problem is our hitters can't bunt. They should be fined every time they fail and maybe they'll learn how.
  22. I don't get defensive (I am on record as also wanting Kotsay gone). I get weary of the same thing said over and over. If I am guilty of that with Mark, then fair argument. Tell me and I'll stop. If I am at that stage of repetitiveness I'll have to stop.
  23. QUOTE (zenryan @ Aug 22, 2010 -> 05:19 AM) Right after you apologize for sticking up for Jenks this season. I'm asking you to apologize to a player. Mine would be not apologizing to Jenks because I did and still worship him in a non religious way of course.
  24. Our crap was penciled in as starting third baseman when the only place he can start is AAA.
