I don't know about the mental thing. We just sucked on that road trip. It is crazy to me how one 10 day stretch (plus the 3-3 vs. the Royals and O's) can virtually end a season. Road games I guess have always been mental as well as physical. Teams rarely excel on the road, but 3-8 was really bad.

A lot of teams' fans have been singing the "wait til next year" song for a long long time. Talent wins games. On paper we have a lot of talent next year just as we had on paper this year. We also have some holes.

I don't know about that. Many threads I've read just assume next year is our year. I guess it's because of Peavy.

I hope he doesn't come back just so somebody else can be the new whipping boy.

Why not games against the Cardinals more often than not?

What I don't get is why everybody thinks magically next season's lineup will be fine and score plenty of runs. Are people just assuming we're going to be a .600 team all of a sudden? Or are they assuming there will be changes?

The same ol does suck. Toronto will be good when we play 'em and Boston is impossible to beat on the road during the part of the season when things really matter. Hopefully we can start that 10 game road trip by beating Cleveland 2 of 3.
