  1. We played so well last night. Now this mediocre pitcher is blanking us. Wow. Is anybody a little concerned about Beckham? Think he's hit the wall after a long season?
  2. The team is only a tease to us die hard fans. The pundits don't even consider us as being in the race. We've not gotten hot at all. We're doing what we've been doing all year. Hanging around .500. They tease us; nobody else.
  3. I'm really encouraged by Freddy this season. He should be a solid No. 5 next year if he doesn't get fat in the offseason. Hope Gavin's hip heals. If not, it's Torres time. Yuk.
  4. Wow. Hip problems. He definitely had nothing on the ball. Now we know why.
  5. Rios strokes a single. Will he steal with us down, 3-0?
  6. I agree the staff looks good, but I just sense a lot of people are assuming it's going to be amazing. Even Mark sucked for an extended period after the perfect game. Gavin's pitches are definitely screaming "hit me" tonight and he's only 11-10.
  7. Sac fly. That's how to move runners. 3-0 M's.
  8. CQ still has a lot to learn about hitting IMO. I am not just saying this cause Gavin is getting lit up. But he's 11-10. Why do we all assume our rotation is going to be unstoppable next year. Gavin is not Tom Seaver. Danks is not Sandy Koufax. They are good, but why are we assuming next year will be balls out excellence??
  9. CQ and Lexi both need to play winter ball. Hope they do it. I don't care if CQ gets hurt. He needs work.
  10. Two on, one out. CQ with the first pitch routine grounder to ss for the easy DP. I hope our clutch hitting improves next year. It's been spotty at best this season. Or at least it seems that way.
  11. Game off to a s***ty start; getting back to .500 is a chore for the Sox.
  12. Ouch. Gavin getting hit pretty good early. 1-0.
  13. Watch it, Ace, for goshsakes it's not like we are right on the Tigers' heels. We're still way back. Enjoy the game.
  14. Oops, leadoff double by the great one.
  15. Tigers did a nice job overcoming the Royals after spotting them 3-0 lead.
  16. The White Sox sure love their pop ups. Lousy first inning against Mr. Hyphen.
  17. Detroit's good enough. They are the best of our division.
  18. Are you serious? If so, give me a break. It's a pleasure to watch Morneau play baseball. My god.
  19. Do you guys think Minnesota is going to steal the division in the final year of the s***dome? Are the Twins the ones who will overcome the choking Tigers?
  20. I'm not pissed. I just don't want him to get hurt. If Detroit choked the division away and we won it, he'd be an important part of the playoff rotation. I guess until we're officially eliminated the Sox are treating the season like we have a chance. Hence Peavy.
  21. I forgot we play the Twins 3 more. Wow. Tough sledding, indeed. What's the Sox's record since Big Jimmy left town?
  22. Can Peavy go at least six, maybe seven innings or is this a five inning 80 pitch deal? If we are assuming we can still pull off a miracle over the choking Tigers and pesky Twins, this game will be as important as the rest and we don't need a middle reliever coming in the fifth inning. Go Peavy! Pitch six strong innings.
  23. Nobody's calling for KW's head. At the time, Rios seemed like a good move (despite the fact a few people I know told me Rios is a cancer and lazy and will suck) because KW gave up nothing but money to get him. He's been a terrible acquisition so far and Pods is still out in cf butchering that position a couple times a week. I hate giving up so many pitchers for Peavy, ones who could have pitched this year, but he's the savior so I'll go along with everybody and applaud that move. Second guessing is stupid; I hate when people blast Oz's every move with our s*** bullpen. I'm not saying KW didn't try or wasn't doing his job. Rios still has time this season to make a splash if he's saved all his big hits for the Detroit games. Rios can shut all of the naysayers up still this season if he is a Tiger killer. One or two guys can get hot and carry a team in six games.
  24. If we win the division it'd be arguably the biggest choke job by Detroit in modern baseball history. We still have shown no signs of sustaining anything. It's all on Detroit. Detroit would have to totally piss it away and completely choke by losing five of six against us or all six. We had our chances this season ... this ain't gonna happen.
  25. That's what I indeed meant. Tidbits: The Royals are hot again in September. The Tigers are limping into the postseason. We'd be potentially a better representative in the playoffs. KC will be a tough opponent this weekend; believe it.
