  1. Trade him to Washington for scraps. They probably like trading with us since MacDisaster sucked with the Sox but did well for them this year.
  2. Is anybody a little worried Torres is pitching this game? Cubs have a lot more to play for that we do. They are only what, five back in loss column for wildcard?
  3. That would be amazing but fellas we are 8 out in the loss column. If any other team was eight out in the loss column you'd say that team was dreaming to think it had 5 percent chance of the postseason. If we were five out, yes, there'd be a decent chance. We made our bed on the road trip.
  4. Road trip from hell Made Me Mad Brandon Allen hit HR yesterday; Pena no good
  5. Look at it this way if we go 10-0 and Detroit 5-5 we'd still be three back in the loss column. Get real.
  6. This will go down as KW's worst deal ever simply because Pena is so bad and Allen actually has an upside.
  7. Love the optimism, Kenny, but don't understand it. Nice win today, but we just went 2-8 after a 3-3 homestand against two pathetic teams. We truly need to win about 10 in a row starting now to have any chance and we're not going to do that.
  8. I got it all right too. One win in Boston, said Yankees would sweep us and one win in Minnie. Know your team.
  9. I can't believe Kenny is that dumb to trade an everyday player for a middle relief hack. What was he thinking?
  10. No, I like Beckham, but I would think their fans are thrilled with the move even though they gave up their top pick. Especially if they make the WS. s***, he probably likes St. Looie and may give them the hometown discount to keep him over the Yankees/Bosox/Mets. If Rios continues to suck, though, I'd have taken about anybody over him. He came with less than glowing recommendations (i.e. lazy tag) and if he is a bust I hope we can dump him and his salary to some stupid team, if the salary keeps the Sox from acquiring good players. If the salary doesn't matter, fine. We didn't give up anythign to get him except the money.
  11. Why does everybody think this? Just because of our rotation? It adds Peavy which is great but everything else is the same. We're under .500 with this rotation. So Peavy goes 17-3 and we're going to be 9-10 over .500? Hope so.
  12. Good article once again. Resting Thornton is a good idea. The stuff about Lexi and the six man rotation was good as well. The 2-8 road trip heading into Wrigley ended our season. Time to look ahead. If we could win 10 in a row, we'd be back in it, but we're not going to do that with our upcoming schedule. We'll be lucky, very lucky to split that Boston series after likely losing in Wrigley.
  13. I said I like Kenny but his acquisitions this year were horrible. I stand by that statement. I'd rather he picked up somebody who could have pitched say, this year, whose name was not Bartolo or Freddy. Oh wait he did. Pena. What a stiff Pena is. Rios has hit no better than BA for us. He has a lot to prove next year. He and Peavy better be good or we are f***ed cosidering their salaries.
  14. A rare win since the perfect game. Great win; horrid road trip has one game left. 2-8 was pukishly bad.
  15. He should of got us Holliday. Now that was an acquisition. Rios has sucked; Peavy? Are you serious? He hasn't done a thing. That's all about next year hopefully. And Castro has been average at best. Pena has been awful. Simply awful. Randy Williams? Was he a minor leaguer in our system or another horrid pickup? I like KW but his acquisitions have sucked this year.
  16. I'll keep watching too. But if we are in contention, are the Indians as well? They are only four behind us? We have to catch 2 teams and we can't even win a damn game at this point. We got to play Cubs in their stinkhole, Boston 4 more games, then after Oakland, the Angels? We ain't in contention.
  17. I agree. I don't understand why everybody thinks a clean slate 0-0 record will guarantee a good season next year. We have no bullpen. None, which in itself will pretty much guarantee .500 at best. Unless we dump Rios, who has sucked, how are the Sox going to upgrade? It's still the same cast of characters. I'd move Lexi to second, keep Gordon at third. Are there any OC type ss's available on the cheap for a year? At least can't hit Rios is good on defense so Lexi at second, a new defensive ss and Rios in center would give us much better D up the middle.
  18. You'd think the law of averages would give us one win in the dome. It's ridiculous that we are probably going down again today. The Twinks have charged past us in the standings. We're as far behind them now as we were Detroit when this road disaster started.
  19. What's our record since Wise went on the DL? Don't flame me. I'm not saying he's the reason for the flop or anything. Just giving my boy a plug.
  20. I'm sure Jimmy loved (loves) the great city of Chicago, but can you imagine how happy he is to get the hell out of Dodge? After this road trip in which his team simply laid down and got creamed? He has to be the happiest man alive arriving in the Dodger clubhouse. I still can't fathom however him wanting to pinch hit. He's still capable of whacking some big home runs and it's impossible they play him at first base. As sad as I am to see the big lug go ... I'm happy he doesn't have to endure September with this Sox club that hopefully will be rebuilt and ready to go in February.
  21. We have so many bad relief pitchers it is amazing. We simply have to release Pena and Liney and Williams and trade Dotel. Please don't bring them back. They all suck. It's just money, which we had no problem throwing Rios (Mr. Oh-fer) way.
  22. I don't know if we're doom and gloomers. If we were going to some easier cities on a 10-game trip, I don't think I'd have gone with 2-8. I mean we were bad going into the journey, but kind of .500 scratch your head bad. Now we are dregs of baseball bad, fighting for third place.
  23. I think I'd rather the Twinkies win it than the Tigers. Don't ask me why. I just sort of feel that way.
  24. Let's review all our predictions and make a comment on how you felt now and then, please. * I went with 2-8. Not so confident it'll come true. At the time I felt the O's and Royals series were KILLERS and we'd get bludgeoned by the Yankees and BoSox and of course can't beat the Twinks. I thought we'd get one in Boston and one in Minnie and get swept by the revenge minded Yankees. I was hoping we'd show some fight and our bats would awaken ... but NOOOOOOOOO. When are we gonna start winning again? We got a whole month remaining. We could really have a bad record by the time this season is over.
  25. 1-8 on the trip from hell. Good job, Sox. Either those of us who picked 2-8 will be correct, or those who went with 1-9. Can Cleveland catch us? That is the question. One month of baseball to go. You must be proud Kenny and Oz; very proud of your "lay over and die-ers."
