  1. Great stories. How stupid can that Cub fan be to write Frank Swallows outside of the Cell? Incredibly stupid moron. I wonder if he wanted the insurance to pay for the car. Was it an old wreck? He was just asking for a car bombing. We gots some tough fans on the South side.
  2. Some of these posts are hilarious. Dowry ... saying "I do" to the Sox. good stuff. I wonder why all the posts say Ozzie and Freddie are good friends. Oz is gonna be his father in law and they are good friends? This is weird, wild stuff. Somebody find and post a pix of Oz's daughter. She must be incredibly good looking for a big leaguer to give up the lifestyle and marry.

You said: "I would do that deal in a heartbeat. Maggs won't resign, why not get some one who will be with us for 3 years?" I don't understand the logic. We acquire Freddie G yesterday — a guy we don't know if we can sign. Yet we give away young guys who are signed up for a while for Freddie. This trade pleases many Sox fans. Now a day later, we are saying, if we can't sign Maggs, then trade him away for Jones who will be here three years. Why are we accepting the fact we CAN sign Freddie and can't sign Maggs? I profess to you we are not going to sign Freddie if the Yanks or Bosox decide they want him. And if he does squat for us, the Yanks will want him. And to tell you the truth I would rather sign Maggs than Freddie! Why the double standard in the thinking of many???
  4. Just don't understand how everyone begs for a trade, and not it occurs and they b****. Easy. Good GMs win all trades. We didn't win this one if FG leaves. We don't sign free agents. We need young guys. If we trade away all our decent young guys ... see ya in last place after the Yankees sweep us in the playoffs.
  5. Ben Davis is not a suitable replacement. He blows.
  6. How many million is FG willing to give up to play with his buddy? No million. He will go to the highest bidder. Baseball has no heart in it anymore. He will go to the Yanks if the Yanks want him.
  7. You said: KW IS THE MAN, a true GM, and a businessman that knows when the ONE SHOT comes U Must seize it. --I'm all for winning a World Series, but if you are willling to gamble our entire future, all our prospects, for the chance we can put together a team capable of beating NY in the playoffs, that is a bad bet. I want to win now, but I also don't want to be the Orioles and finish last the next 15 years after this season.
  8. Yes I have a lot of questions. One man (Garcia) is not an end all save all. He could be a big lift, but we are still a team with many holes.

Good, then he must play and let Sandy catch a couple times a week when he comes back.
  10. Hi gwerty, I figured you'd ask! It's Mark B of course.
  11. Brando said: hat's because some things go without saying. Everybody who is a true Sox fan loves Olivo, Willie, Valentin, Shingo, Buerhle and Uribe. --Nope. I beg to differ. MY list also includes Konerko and CLee and I'll take off Juan U. Look at the numbers Paulie has put up in terms of hrs and ribbies this season and compare them to some guys some of our fans would LOVE to have compared to Paulie. Paulie is a stud.

This begs the question: What do we get out of Davis. I know for a fact the guy can't hit and will never hit. But can he catch and throw. Anybody out there know? I respect all of your comments. Somebody must know if Ben can at least throw and catch. Cause he cannot hit.
  13. Timo did a lot to win me over today. That is cool he sprinted to the outfield and had his hand up. That is awesome. That home run was nice, too. Timo was great today in all regards.
  14. Props to Politte. We need him obviously. Hope he keeps blowing people away.
  15. It's all up to Freddie now. What he's done in the past doesn't mean squat. He's 0-0, 0.00 trying to be our No. 2 starter and lead us to the playoffs. If we don't make it, he's failed and KW has failed.
  16. Great line by Super Steve. I laughed out loud. Jeckle, I don't love the trade, but calm down. If Freddie pitches like a No. 1 starter he's gonna help us win the division and maybe even perk up Esteban who has been great but getting hit a bit. I think we gave up too much, and don't like the trade, but if this guy can dominate the rest of the season, he could give us some real hope. p.s. you've been a fan since 12; how old are you?
  17. Teahen was the A's best prospect.. Mark Wood was like 11 - 3 with a 2.87 ERA in AA... and John Buck was hitting like .338 with 19 HR's in the Astros AAA KC got everything they wanted, and they are all good prospects... Wait a minute. Buck was hitting .300 with 12 hrs. Yes, Teahan is good. Wood was 11-3 at sacramento like you said.
  18. Let's trade Freddie and Ben Davis now for Olivo, Reed and that ss. Seriously, if all of you were 100 percent sure we couldn't resign Freddie, would you reverse the trade right now? I would. p.s. I'm hoping Freddie pitches SO WELL, clemens-like, that we don't care what we ended up giving up down the line. Hopefully that will be the case if he is a complete stud.
  19. Tizzle's post is awesome! 100 percent agreement. Good point Jugger. Miguel wasn't catching every day. I'd catch whomever has the best arm right now even if the guy hits .150. If Davis has the best chance of throwing somebody out I would go with him every day the rest of the year even if he hits .099.
  20. I put don't like it cause I have no confidence we'll resign Fred. Donkey in my opinion said it all: "Reed was a prospect I understand, but I think Olivo was more than a prospect. We filled a big need on this team but created another one by dumping Miguel." If we resign Fred and he does well KW deserves GM of the year. If he walks after this season, we gave up way too much.
  21. What is means right now is we have no catcher. Agreed?
  22. I agree with Brando. Too much for a rental player. Joe Morgan just said it is "dangerous" game we're playing acquiring a guy that could walk. I mean we're probably not going to pay Maggs, what makes everybody think we're going to pay Garcia?
  23. You said: 1) if we resign Garcia, its a good deal 2) if we win a World Series, I don't care if Olivo is the second coming of Fisk. 3) what'd you expect Seattle to take? A few AA guys, a bag of Starbucks coffee, and some Chicago-style pizza? I would agree with 1 and 2. But I think 3.) should read, if we don't win the division, KW is fired. I think we could have gotten Garcia without giving up Olivo. I mean look at what the Royals got for Beltran??
  24. Jugger I agree we need another starter, but we're also in the s***tiest of s*** divisions and I don't think we needed to part with Olivo to get Garcia. Especially when we have no suitable catcher. Ben Davis is a joke. I have followed his career. I mean if we have a hole at catcher now and in the future what good is it filling the other hole on the mound? I just think we overpaid. I hope Freddie dominates but it seems stupid to overpay. That's my take.
  25. I loved reading every post. All the Sox fans are gonna miss Olivo. And deservedly so. We are going to regret giving up that gun of an arm, but everybody here already knows that. We didn't need to trade Olivo, folks. Seattle's GM has to be getting drunk now. He got Reed and Olivo. Amazing. We loved ya Miguel. And I think you will be an all-star.
