  1. Not offering Everett and Alomar arbitration, if anything else, gives the Sox financial flexibility to pay for Garcia, Guardado AND Beltran at the ASB and thusly become a legitimate WS contender. --With all due respect, acquiring these three guys would strip us of ALL our halfway decent prospects. I mean they aren't going to give these guys away. Bye bye Reed, Joe B, Rauch, etc. And there'd be no guarantee we'd win it all. No guarantee at all.
  2. I like Scott Schoenweis but he's not worth doing handstands over.
  3. This is blasphemy but if we can't "afford" Maggs, I hope he goes to the Cubs and sticks it up Reinsdork's ass every fricking game the next 10 years. The Sox are a small market team which is bulls***. EMAIL MARK CUBAN TO BUY THE TEAM NOW!!!!!
  4. Not a good game. Are we in trouble without Maggs?
  5. I'm sick of the topic, too. I want to keep him, but if we don't we don't. We should be trying to win it all this year. We've got a pretty good team that will not be a great one unless we find a closer, fifth starter and get a bit more production out of Crede and cf.
  6. As long as he doesn't use Koch. If that happens, I'll be sick to my gut.
  7. It's got to be closer by committee. If Oz or KW proclaims Shingo the closer, you just know he's gonna blow his first save opportunity. Use Marte and Shingo then throw Koch out there maybe once of every 10 save opps.
  8. I love Koch's quotes. Like you said he's not a bad guy, just a bad reliever. It's KW's and Oz's fault the rest of the way, not Koch's. He's incapable of getting saves. They are capable of keeping him out of save situations.
  9. Donkey, I might be seeing things, but I didn't think he had any velocity tonight. It looked like BP fastballs. His out out was a bullet to Jose V. I keep hearing he's got good velocity then I finally get to see a game on TV tonight and it's all meat.
  10. There's no reason to use him again. I mean ... is he gonna find lightning in a bottle?? We all watched the game. The guy was throwing a meatball fastball. Could it have been over 84? I say no way. His breaking ball was horrific. And like somebody said, he didn't hold runners. I like the guy personally and don't think people should boo him. Boo KW and I guess Oz if he's used again. They are at fault. Koch is trying; he is just no good.
  11. I don't care how much we're paying him. He has to be either put on DL, sent to AAA to get his s*** together (again) or be released or sent to a NL team for a very marginal prospect. He's going to ruin our season almost single handedly.
  12. Jim ... you said it all. I agree 100 percent.
  13. Are we gonna let one player ruin our season?? That is what's happening, folks. Put him on the DL like the Cubs did their horses*** closer. The man has NO STUFF. He singlehandedly ruined the game.
  14. No need to boo him. Release him. He's trying, he just doesn't have anything.
  15. Shingo threw 6 pitches in the 8th? He shoulda, coulda, closed tonite!
  16. Koch has nothing. He is indefensable. His fastball is meat. And his breaking ball fools noboldy cause his fastball is meat. Nobody can defend Koch being our closer. He had NOTHING\
  17. I'm thinking it's KW's call over Oz. Koch is so bad surely Oz realizes this.
  18. If Shingo had stayed in, the guys would be drinking beer in the clubhouse by now. He was NASTY! Koch .... I'm speechless.
  19. Koch is so bad it's hard to believe.
  20. Good point Brando. When did you become a kinder, gentler Brando? You are Mr. Calm Knowledge of late.
  21. Gotta bunt in that situation. Just need Willie to come thru.
  22. Nice bunt. Last year we woulda popped it up.
  23. Olivo is turning into Tony Oliva revisited.
  24. We should be happy we are fans of the "other team." It shows we're not punk bandwagon jumpers.
  25. Joe Crede ain't dead yet and I love Jose V. He oughta bunt like that every at bat. That was perfect.
