Great play. That was a great bunt.
-
It's not good to be playing the Cubs when Sammy is hot. Hope Mark B is on tonite.
-
Three up, three down. Wonder how many fans will stop watchin about 8:30 for fireworks. I know I will stop at that point.
-
Willie and Juan didn't do the job first time around. Bummer.
-
Watch us resign Maggs and Moronotti will call it a genius move by KW... I really wish he would walk to his car unsurrounded once and get noticed and plummeted. --Hope you are kidding. Nothing's worth hurting somebody and getting thrown in the slammer at the same time.
-
If we can't sign Maggs I hope he does go to the Flubs. It sickens me that we are a small market team in such a big city. If Reinsdork can't get creative in making money from tv, etc. in such a big city and he refuses to re-sign Maggs, I hope he does go to the Flubs. Maggs probably doesn't want to leave town, anyway. He'd be happy in Wrigley if he can't be at the Cell.

Good point about bunting. A guy with no power like Willie and a guy with his wheels sure could use some great bunting ability. Is he an acceptible bunter or horrid? He is so fast if he could plop bunts toward third he'd be in good shape. Those bunts lefties make toward second base usually suck.

Minnesota is like the pesky gnat flying around your neck. The Twinks never go away. They don't belong in the playoffs. We do.

Good post. At first I feared it was going to be "tonight is important for Buehrle to prove he's a good pitcher, blah blah." I agree with your 3 comments about why it's important for him. Glad to see it's not some dope comment about Mark B having to show he's a big game pitcher or some stupid stuff like that.
-
Sign Maggs, Forget Nomar. Keep Maggs til he's ready to retire.
-
Sammy and Alou might have blasted SS's pitches onto Waveland Ave. also. Schoney hasn't exactly been Randy Johnson of late.
-
I should have walked away but I replied,"not as much as you did in Boystown last night. --Great line, Dick Allen. Awesome! Glad he didn't connect and glad he got the boot.
-
Good post Rowand. Hopefully the media will write about the s*** effort by the Flubs crew.

Even though the rain f***ed up today's game totally, I had an awful feeling Zambo and Maddux would want revenge for last weekend and would pitch their asses off. We need to win tomorrow for pride sake and to get back on track, but don't bet the house on it.

Beastly, How old are you? I'm assuming about 14. If so, relax, chill. Somebody said beautifully: Everytime a pitcher has a bad outing or a fielder makes an error etc. I read 5 posts about how that guy should be traded or WE NEED TO MAKE A TRADE and other types of bulls***. I sure hope those type of posts disappear, or this board is doomed. Last year's posts were much more mature and thought provoking. I still love most posts, but these sophmoric rant posts after losses are tiresome.

For some reason I don't like Gload, but those are a lotta RBIs. What is our record with Gload in the lineup? It seems we lose most of the time, but that may just be my incorrect perception.
-
Any doubt as to why AROW needs to be in the lineup

I can't believe Zambrano backed up his words. He said something about how he couldn't wait to pitch again vs. the Sox after the loss at Cell. Hope we can come back in Game Two, but the Cubs may be on a mission this weekend. -
Great job on what Mariotti would say, Tizzle, great job! I love Oz. Telling it like it is. Good posts about Wrigley. I can't imagine if you had one of those seats where you can't even see the scoreboard you'd think the place was that great. I'm surprised we don't draw more fans considering the comfort of the Cell in comparision with Wrig.
-
--I say we win one or get swept. Hope our young pitcher proves me wrong, but I can't imagine him stopping the Flubs cold on Sat.
-
Good point by Baggs I feel. But I also liked Oz's remarks. That was neat the way he blasted him. That's a good way to make sure quotes aren't a distraction. Have the skipper show who's really boss and blast away. I love Oz. I'm glad the powers that be took a chance on him.

All of the above, but growing up on the South side is huge.

You've added more insight to this message board in 36 posts than some have in 2,000. I wouldn't go that far.

It is painfully obvious that Loaiza is nowhere near the level he was at last year. His arm strength isn't even close. With that in mind, KW should NOT sign Loaiza to a deal after the season. Because of his inflated win total this year, combined with last years stats, he's going to get a lot more money than he is worth. --It's painfully obvious Esteban is a good major league pitcher and we should keep him and sign him.
-
"That scenario would (anger) me quite highly," Schoeneweis said. "If that's the scenario then I will be looking to pitch elsewhere." I'm like Baggs. At least he was honest when approached right after it happened. He'll settle down and accept his role, I'd bet. If not, we'll have to dump him. But I like the fact he's a competitor, too.

Good point! Also I hope I reversed jinxed our Sox by recently wondering why we couldn't string several wins together like most teams. We have won (blank) in a row and counting. I won't say the number lest I jinx da SOX.
