  1. Not to be a dick, but I thought many people thought Carl Everett would be the answer.
  2. Maybe, but I doubt one act of defiance would awaken our bats this evening.
  3. I don't think we'll be sending the Twinks any messages w/out Maggs and Frank. Maybe though. Baseball is a funny game.
  4. Glad to see not everybody is burying Garland cause we lost today. I figured there'd be a post decrying the passionless Garland, etc. He ain't a star but I think he's good to have on our team.
  5. Like everybody said, NO. He's the definition of clubhouse cancer. They were idiots for picking him up this year and contributing to a ridiculously bad season.
  6. Jeckle, That was kind of a nutso post by you. Uncharacteristic. That ain't gonna determine the outcome solely. Our team has lots of issues w/out Maggs and Hurt. Pitching and defense I think are gonna be the keys with our lineup moderately anemic cause of injuries.
  7. That's not as bad as I thought, also. Wonder what his record is the last 3 weeks when he starts. It sure seems they lose a lot when he plays, but the stats are proving otherwise I guess.
  8. It's funny DJ said that. "Game" I was watching it on TV and the second Crede swung my comment was, "We win." I love no doubters!!
  9. Glad to see the praise for Joe. Performances like that make you want the Sox to keep their young prospects through thick and thin. Like you said the nice hit to right with 2 strikes and that f***ing bomb were amazing! Musta been great to be at the park tonight. Fill us in on the reax to that homer. How loud was it??? "Joe f***ing Crede" does indeed say it all. That was a studly bomb. p.s. I liked Jose's homer that quietly made it 6-2. Meatball and he stroked it. p.s.s. Thanx Tigers for leaving that pitcher in too long.
  10. That colm wasn't one of his better efforts in my opinion. What if KW had expressed panic and told Jay that the Sox were quickly looking to make a deal, etc. He'd probably write the column that KW had no confidence in the current guys and was ready to make a panic trade. I think the way the team is going, with Freddie being great and Aaron doing well and some others kicking ass, this time he coulda wrote a more reasonable look at the team without Maggs/Frank. We're drawing big crowds and playing pretty well. It could have been a more reasonable column rather than throwing out all those possible trades. I'd have picked maybe one trade and integrated that into a less maniacal column. In my case, I'd like to get Walker if we don't have to give up too much. Or just pick up Olerud. I'd give Jay a C- on that column.
  11. He has some bad at bats, but I love the guy.
  12. What's it like in the upper deck now since the remodeling? Is it nice up there?
  13. Sounds awesome. What happened when shingo came in?
  14. Congrats Jeckle. This guy is a stud as you all say.
  15. How good is ARow becoming? Is this a fluke or is he an all-star? Are you all thrilled with Rowand's production? Describe ARow in 10 words or less, please
  16. You are right. That is a good way to work it. It was a somewhat "bizarre" article. Weird story.
  17. I don't understand the hate of Loaiza. Especially if he's pitching hurt. What gives? Did he refuse to sign for you or what??
  18. ARow is a neat story. Losing Reed is not gonna be a big deal at all if ARow keeps this up and we re-sign Maggs. He's an everyday player at this rate in the big leagues. Good job Aaron Rowand. Glad KW didn't give up on him. Hope he's here to stay. He's valuable.
  19. He's fine. This isn't like college sports where injuries are hidden. If he's hurt we'd know bout it.
  20. Great job bringing this back. I'm not against criticism, but some Sox have proven they can f***ing do the job and deserve support if they have a bad outing or two. Mark B is one of those Sox. Another IMO is Maggs. And another is JOSE V! I love Jose.
  21. Great post. And fooey on the Sox fan who wondered when Mark B would "step up and pitch like a No. 1." He is a stud. Kudos to Lee and Valentin also. p.s. How can we ward off the baseball hex that will guarantee we score about 1 run tomorrow? Seriously, we need to ward off the jinx. Win 14-0 and the next day it's a 3-1 loss.
  22. I don' t buy the "trying hard" argument. A hitter can try and still go 0-for-4. A pitcher can try and still get rocked. Put in the pre-game work and listen to the coaches and see what happens.
  23. Hokay, I believe you. I just thought Rauch was always talked about as the next best thing last offseason. Too bad he's another guy that surgery has wrecked. Thanks for pointing out the facts to me.
  24. Comparing Carl to Maggs is like comparing Ben Davis to Johnny Bench.
  25. Make this trade last winter and we'd have gotten a ton. Rauch was highly regarded. If we had the money of the Yanks I wouldn't mind over paying 'cause it'd be apparent we'd just sign free agents to fill our gaps. But all we do is trade away our "name" prospects, which is overpaying. Trade some scrubs nobody has heard of once in a while. I mean Everett for Rauch??? C'mon, last winter we'd have laughed at that deal. Rauch acts up one game at Cell Field in leaving early and everybody is glad to get rid of him. Everett has been hurt and hasn't done squat this year. Hope that changes for our sake.
