Olerud is a lefty bat and maybe he's not finished yet. That's why I want him with his anemic stats from the first half. He could be finished, but we'll have to pick him up to find out.

I don't want to be a naysayer, but my opinion of our team is not as great as Kenny's. What are we, 6-7 over .500? I guess adding Randy and Beltran would make us great. Would those 2 guys make us automatic AL champs? Maybe. If not, we've mortgaged the future. I guess it might be worth the risk. Randy and Beltran are pretty good, but get ready for crowds of 9,000 all next year once we lose Beltran to free agency and Randy retires.

Olerud might be the obvious choice. We play Olerud at first and DH Paulie or vice versa.

I can't believe you'd want to give up 3 more good prospects for a guy in Beltran who would be here the rest of the season only. I mean f***, he's not helped Houston in the standings AT ALL. Why's he going to guarantee us a title? And he would take away 3 top prospects.

There is no chance of Beltran signing with us after this season. None. If we give up 3 more good prospects for Beltran, our future will be horrid. I want a World Series, too, but giving up 3-4 more GOOD prospects would be suicidal for our franchise. Maybe JR is selling after this season and doesn't care.

I must admit it is nice to have a strikeout pitcher like Freddie on the team. Hopefully he'll be a slump buster for us the next several seasons. Too bad we don't have Frank for the road trip. Personally I hope we don't see a lot of Gload. Seems we lose everytime he plays.

I don't know why you'd be surprised to see ELo as the second pitcher. He's highly thought of among his peers who seem to think more of him than some Sox fans.
