  1. Good post to see everybody's opinions. Mine: Frank--B plus. Paulie-A minus. Uribe-B. Jose V.-B plus. Crede - C-minus. Lee-A-minus. Rowand-B. Maggs- A. Willie - C. Timo - B. Gload - B minus. Mark B - A. Loaiza - B. Schoeny - C. Garland - A minus Freddie - A minus (nice start in a Sox jersey) Koch - F. Shingo - A Pollitte - C minus. Jackson - D. Olivo - B. Sandy - B minus. Burke - inc. Ozzie - A. Kenny W - B
  2. I'm glad the Sox fans gave him a standing ovation. That is class. Cubssucks said: "Interestingly enough, it has been Kenny who has kept things private, but Magglio ahs insisted on letting the media know what is going on. I wonder if Maggs knows that he is just telling us that what they are giving him is fair, but he just won't sign." That is a stupid comment Cubssuck. Maggs isn't running up to the media saying "come interview me about my contract." he's answering their f***ing questions. Why not enjoy the season like everybody is saying and give Maggs a break. He's going to do what 99.9 percent of all baseball players do: Take the most money and the most years wherever that will be. There is no such thing as loyalty, et. all. That went out the window a long time ago.
  3. He would have been if Ozzie hadn't had to pay homage to Koch's contract the first 50 or so games. --I hope by "had to pay" you meant KW made him use him. Cause that's where the blame has to be placed. KW, not Ozz. Oz had to use him for the contract you mentioned.
  4. They shouldn't do it either way, but its part of the game now. --Dick Allen, you are the man on this one. You got it right. Jose V. had a great great first half.
  5. All White Sox players should be beloved. They should be cheered mightily whether they hit a game winning home run or strike out with the bases loaded. They are above reproach, and should never be questioned. They should be put on a pedestal because you can't do what they do. If you do not act in this manner than you are not a fan. If you do, you are a ripper of players and a douche bag. If you bring up anything negative after a White Sox winner you are a b****er and moaner and you should STFU! --Where did that come from? I'm trying to figure out why ELo is taken for granted as is Maggs. Everybody wants to love the next big thing or the next new guy. E-Lo is an all star. He's one of the top 10 or so pitchers in the league, but he's taken for granted because he's been here a while. Guys that deserve to be ripped rite now: Harris, Uribe, Crede, Gload, KW, Jackson, Pollitte. Guys that deserve some love even after a bad game: Paulie, Frank, Maggs, CLee.
  6. You said: "while in both of Garcia's outings he was one bad pitch from being stellar." Seems like Jon got hated on pretty good that game he was one bad pitch from being stellar.
  7. I simply can't understand why a guy who has made the all star team and has won eight of 12 games is not beloved. So what if he's gotten good run support. He's an all star pitcher as deemed by baseball. I want E Lo on my team.
  8. Steff said: (The Sox) More like hampered him. On the Yankees or Boston Maggs is an All Star every year. Maggs sees the playoffs. Maggs gets endorcements. Maggs is treated like the superstar he will become. He has helped the Sox ten times over. --Way to go, Steff. True love for Maggs. I like it.
  9. Sure, sure, every start. ELo sucks. That's why he's an all-star. The baseball world must think he really sucks picking him for that team. Freddie gave up four earned runs. We lost. He's 1-1 with the Sox. But Freddie's a god ... for now, til people get used to him. E Lo is an all star over Freddie and all he gets from many is hate. Amazing.
  10. Good thing Willie didn't start the season 4 for 50 or he'd either no longer be a Sox or be a permanent fixture on the Sox AAA bench.
  11. I love the way some people rip on our current players. The guy is an all star and has been awesome for the Sox but many don't think he deserves money. If Garland would have given up the homer last night instead of Freddie, he'd have been crucified for pissing in his pants like "Judy" in a crucial at bat. He gave up four earned runs yet Freddie is Sandy Koufax and ELo is no good. I laugh at this mentality.
  12. If Shoey's healthy why don't we keep pitching Shoey?? Doesn't seem like he did anything to lose the job.
  13. I wonder what our record is with Gload in the lineup. It's not his fault completely but we seem to lose whenever he plays.
  14. It's a disgrace Thomas and Konerko aren' t on the team.
  15. Wow, this thread is all over the map. I'll end it by just saying ... I love Maggs. We've been treading water without Maggs. We need Maggs or our lineup is s***.
  16. The thing that bothers me is when people act like Maggs is being a dick. He's always been a class act. Completely.
  17. I can't believe Maggs is so underappreciated by some. Why does he not deserve big bucks? I pray the Cubs sign him. I wanna see him stick it up Reinsdork's butt.
  18. I'd rather have Maggs than Garcia, but I can see why people are more excited about Freddie. He's the new guy on the block while Maggs has been here excelling for years. It's the same reasoning the new guy brought in from a hotshot company at an "everyday normal" job gets all the money and the guy who has worked his ass off and been consistent for the same company 6 years gets s*** on. I want Maggs over FG, but that's just me.
  19. Brando I don't ignore your posts because I like to read what you have to say. I called you on what I thought was b.s. I think the fact Paulie lined a single to center shows he wasn't trying to whack it out of the park every time. And I believe firmly Rusch pitched a great game and is having a great season thus far.
  20. Brando said: "Glendon Rusch is the kind of a pitcher who will be crushed if your hitters are smart and unselfish. Teams that are in trouble against him are teams that look at his career ERA and think "batting practice time". Glendon Rusch pitched a good game and is having a good year, Brando, whether you believe it or not. Nobody was gonna hit him in that 8th inning. I don't care if they were greedy or whatever the f*** you are calling it, there was no hope in that 8th inn. You think C. Lee was trying to homer every time up? I say not. Was Paulie trying to homer when he lined that single up the middle? SOrry Brando, but I call a lot of your analysis bulls***.
  21. Brando said: "Rusch game was an abomination. He had nothing and Sox couldn't touch him. No runs in 8 innings! My god, how embarassing." This is utter b.s. Brando. I call you on this. I watched the game and you are incorrect. That is pure b.s. About Paulie You said: Longer stride, longer swing....he ended up being tardy and flew out to RF. Had he tried to just hit a liner hard somewhere, I wouldn't be surprised if a line-drive homer to CF resulted. Paulie went for too much and it had the opposite effect. Sometimes I think you analyze individual at bats too much. At times batters wait for pitches, react and swing. You act like there is an immortal plan on every pitch, every at bat. It sounds like you've played the game at some point, so I assume you've been at the plate and reacted to pitches. But there is not a MASTER PLAN on every at bat. I think Paulie hacked and what happened happened.
  22. Would they have taken Rowand? I have a feeling Reed and Joe B. are more important than AR, though I like him, as well.
  23. This is a legitimate concern, not Loaiza for gosh sake. I can't belive we have a thread on getting rid of Esteban when he's just been named an all star. If these two keep hitting like this, we got problems.
  24. Brando, I don't think RJ will come here. Yes we are going for it, but I'm telling you, we can't mortgage the future of having a moderately competitive team and give away all our prospects. Why? Because no matter what we do, we're still not going to beat out the Yanks. Look what happened to Minn. last year. If we win the division, in all likelihood, we're gonna have as quick an exit. I'm not saying for sure ... if our sticks got hot we'd have a chance to win a series maybe but the odds are we are not gonna beat the Yanks no matter how many moves we make. I don't want to become the O's do you?
  25. I respect yu brando, but i find this post laughable. He just got named to the All Star Game for gosh sakes.
