  1. I like you guys, but to blast him after that home run is shallow I believe. He's had some critical hits this year. I say keep him.
  2. I say we keep him. Way too much potential. Way to go, Joe. I ain't gonna criticize you tonight. Nice at bats, nice blast to rf for the homer after Jamie Burke failed miserably before you. Upgrade at catcher, KEEP JOE CREDE!
  3. I like Ben Davis, but like the story said, he hasn't done squat the past 20 games at the plate. His past says he can't hit.
  4. How about trading for Reed, Olivo and Foulke.
  5. Trading Reed was such a bad idea. KW should be fired just because of this start Reed has gotten off to.
  6. I don't think Oz was overrated. Oz was damn good.
  7. Good replies. I won't stress over Willie bein' Willie.
  8. In today's Daily Herald: Willie Harris might not be at the top of the list, but he unquestionably has been one of the White Sox' most disappointing players this season. Just ask him. "I didn't have a Willie Harris year,'' Harris said. "Defensively, I've been terrific. Outstanding year. Offensively, I've struggled a little here and there. I did well at some points, but then I'd hit a slump and didn't play well. That's my fault.'' --I like Willie's personality, I do. But ... Willie doesn't deserve to refer to his performance as not being "a Willie Harris year." What the heck is a Willie Harris year? .250 at best? Bad instincts on bases. Good fielding. Defensively, I've been terrific? Modesty Willie is the best policy. I like Willie's enthusiasm, but I think these quotes were dumb.
  9. I sure hope we get rid of this guy, King Carl. Do any of you really truly look forward to him starting for us next season? I don't see why we would consider bringing him back. If he's out of shape now and admits it, he's been stealing Dork's money. Why give him a chance to loaf some more again next year? Jose V. may be having a bad year, but at least he's not stealing money by being out of shape. LET CARL GO!
  10. I can't believe you'd bag on Jose V that way. George Bell is the perfect answer! Any clown who complains during the playoffs about playing time ... geez, maybe our organization is jinxed. The bastard complains about playing time during the fricking playoffs. No Sox fan should ever forgive him for that crap.
  11. Jose has always been one of my favorite players. He has had an awful year...but he always busts his ass, he rarely complains, he is a team leader, and he's a great person. I hope that once he retires, he is brought back as a coach. I honestly feel he would be a very gifted coach. --I fifth the notion. Classy post and I agree with you 100 percent.
  12. Great point about Koos and Lamp! And you did indeed pick two of the worst players in Sox history to mention Nyls Nyman and Kevin Bell. Boy did they stink.
  13. I really like Mags, but he made it a business by wanting so much, and now he screwed himself over. That's life. Its not like he didn't make $14 million this year. --I hear you but he didn't do anything that most all players do. All guys of Maggs' stature play the final year of a contract and wait for the big bucks of Yankeedom in the offseason. I feel sorry for Maggs also. Very sorry for this class act. But as far as the monetary aspects of this, I can't imagine any team giving him more than a one–year deal for way way way less money than he was expecting, considering the uncertainty.
  14. Hope you guys and girls are right about Juan Uribe. This is a serious question cause I haven't seen a lot of games on TV, unfortunately. Is he a great fielder? I know about his hitting. Does he have good range? Does he make the routine play? Does he have a strong arm? When the ball is hit to him at ss do you feel it's an automatic out or does he have Alan Bannister disease? Please fill me in. thanx.
  15. Wow, Ken Berry. That is a heckuva choice. He was a stud. And he definitely was underrated. Didn't Barry Jones have one incredible year as a set up man when we won the division? He might be underrated that one season if my memory isn't fading.
  16. A good manager knows what to do, to be very simple about it. Ozzie didn't. Because of that, he failed, and the team died. C'mon. That didn't kill us. Losing teams point to one simple thing that cost us a season. How come the Yanquis didn't let the 17-0 loss to Cleveland kill them or the 20-4 loss to the Royals or whatever it was. Every LOSING team has moments they could point to as keys to losing. I mean there is something wrong with a team BESIDES the Hunter collision situation when Crede can blast a walk off homer to win a big exciting game and we tank after that. I respectfully disagree that one play in one game cost us the season. If it did, we are a joke of an organization and don't deserve to win anyway.
  17. Seriously ... do we all agree Jose V. had a great career here, but Guzman would be a reasonable signing if we are serious about ever winning the fricking division??? Anybody against inking Guzman??
  18. We need to sign Guzman and bust up their team a bit.
  19. I like the choice of Rock Raines. He was a stud. When he was hot or reasonably hot, he was always on base. And he whacked a lot of leadoff triples and hrs. Seriously though, did I pick the winner in Chet? Chet was sooo underrated. We got rid of him and he still had a lot of ball left in him. He made the finest catch I've ever seen. I actually saw him when he was a Tiger and asked him about the catch and he remembered every bit about it. Somebody hit a line shot cannon in the gap in old Comiskey and it was the kind of shot you expect to one hop the wall. All of a sudden Lemon appeared in the TV screen diving and making an unreal catch.
  20. It's hard to not be a cynical prick this time of year. All we do is lose any game against a reasonable foe. I really can't believe this second half of the season. Just think if we keep playing like this to start next year. We could be out of it in early May.
  21. I hope we never say our schedule looks better than the Twinks the second half, etc., in the future. I mean until we start beating the teams in our own horses*** div., the strength of schedule means nothing.
  22. I went with Paulie. Oh what might have been had Maggs and Hurt stayed healthy to go with Lee and Paulie.
  23. Jerry Dybzinski. Just kidding. I still won't forgive him for that baserunning blunder that cost the Sox a win over Baltimore with Britt Burns pitching the game of his life. Most underrated ever?? --Ralph Garr setting the table that one magical season. --Pudge Fisk. --Chet Lemon. He was damn good. --Ken Kravec (again just kidding).
  24. I can't believe some people are so high on Uribe.
