Sox R Us at some point you have to pay a guy what he's worth on the market. If the Chicago (small market team in big market) White Sox can't keep Magglio Ordonez, then disband the team. Nuke the team. Baseball still wants to downsize anyway. We must keep Maggs.

We're still fine. All we have to do in this division is hang around .500 and we'll be in it all year. I personally think if all goes well, we finish 10 over .500. No more than that. We have too many holes to do better than that. 10 over .500 will win this division. If we had a decent closer or Marte takes over the role effectively and if Oz keeps platooning guys like Uribe, Aaron, Crede, Willie, who are not stars I think we'll finish 10 over .500 and win division. p.s. I'm not a big Sandy Alomar fan.

It seems like he's had a lot more than two blown saves. He never seems like he's got good stuff. At least the games I've seen on the telly. I just think we'd be better off without the guy. Except for the money we're paying him, is there any reason to keep Koch? He doesn't get people out.

I agree with all of you. This thread isn't an undeserved rant. He's simply not good enough, at least in a Sox uniform. Trade him to the Mets for one marginal prospect.

One thing about Ozzie is he is not stupid. I would be shocked if this isn't curtains for Koch. He just isn't a good closer anymore. At least not for the Sox. Ozzie started to platoon Rowand and Crede is getting a bit more time off not playing every single day. I firmly believe we're going to see Marte be our closer night in and out from now on. Koch is simply not good enough. Again, Oz is a very smart skipper and baseball guy. I think Koch is done. I think we'd be better off releasing him or dumping him to the NL for one marginal prospect. It's just not working out. It's like Clayton and Todd Ritchie. It's a failed experience. Please Sox, dump Koch. I don't even want him in our bullpen by committee. Make it Marte and Zero.

It's pretty obvious the Yankees will decide whether they want Maggs or Beltran and take whichever guy they want. The Yankees pay enough to get whomever they want (I know, obvious statement of decade)

I think we are better off with both of them gone. --No offense but that is about the most insane thing I've ever read anywhere. A perfect example of not appreciating what you have til it's gone. Maggs is a freaking star and Jose V. is an underappreciated (by some) stud. Check our past history for some horsebleep shortstops outside of Ozz and Aparicio. Jose V. has been a stud.

I've always liked Jose. check the numbers he puts up every year. The guy is a stud and I'm glad we've had him on the team the past several years. Didn't Oz say the other day he was the best player on the frickin team?? I love the guy.
