Hasn't he had two game winning sac flies? That one game he whacked it past the outfielders who were in shallow, and then he had a regular sac fly to win another game, didn't he? That in itself is nice. Him heating up is great. I guess we should just assume he's going to be good and pencil him in for the next 12 years at 3B, barring injury. Good job, Joe!

We need to keep winning series. We don't want to lose a series vs. Cleve. Our division is so weak, though, we just need to stay near .500.
  3. He's getting me to the point where I'm neutral about him and that's a major step.
  4. Pleased: Ozzie, Konerko, Maggs, Lee, Olivo, Esteban. Disappointed: Koch. Not thrilled about: Crede, Harris, Sandy.
  5. I don't know why you'd want LaRussa over Oz. LaRussa is the George Will of the dugout. Arrogant. So far I'd give Oz an A for everything, including his quotes. People have called it corpseball in the past. This is lively at least.
  6. Looks like that 3-for-4 came at the right time. Willie needs to keep that going or it sounds like he's finished.
  7. Brando, how can you not like Oz?? Stop and smell the roses. It could be 50 below wintertime in Chicago. Instead we're actually winning in come from behind fashion for the first time in 3 years. I love Oz and hopes he keeps running his mouth all season. I think his quotes are funny and he's da man.
  8. Comeback wins are a good sign. If we can keep winning most series, we'll be right there all year or might eventually pull away in our crap division, if we can handle Minn. this time around.
  9. I went to 5 p.m. Mass. As I exited the car at 4:35 my cell phone update thing had us with two runners on base and down by a run in the ninth with one out. I had a good feeling we'd win. When I returned to the car at 6:30 I saw we'd won, 6-5. It made me feel good cause it was a comeback win, which we haven't had many of the past two seasons. Nice win.

This is a tough crowd. We won the game. So what if Carlos got picked off. We win, we win. I think we'll miss his bat the day we trade Carlos.
  11. K, Thanks for explaining. Now I understand. Makes sense!
  12. You said: i became a sox fan just to spite my whole family which are cubs fans..... dad used to take us all out to the cubs game and i would wear my sox hat their.... but i really didnt watch them much back then... Now i do everyday i get a chance Are ya joking? Why didn't you like your family? I don't get the story.
  13. You said: I wanted a sweep in KC. I wanted a sweep in Tampa. I wanted a sweep of TB in Chicago. I wanty a sweep of the Tribe. What I want is a win of the series vs. KC a win of the series vs. Tampa I win of the series vs. Cleve AND A HEALTHY TEAM. p.s. He seems like a nice enough guy, but I don't think our new ss Kelly Graffaninoschlabotnik or whatever is neame is, appears to be a player. He reminds me of a pitcher hitting at the plate.
  14. We were flat. Couldn't hit that starter and like somebody said, Paulie's rushed throw killed us. Hope Maggs isn't hurt. We needed his bat and Jose's too. Or it was just one of those days. Piniella is a damn good manager.
  15. Hey Jim, Did you like Gary Peters? Did he ever sign anything for ya?
  16. Your mom is awesome. That's good stuff. Thanks for sharing.

If Gload keeps this up, KW deserves to 'gloat' for acquiring him.
  18. I agree. He looked damn good tonight again. Nice move by KW or whomever said he should be a starter this year. He looks nasty.
  19. I played for The White Sox in the Mt Greenwood Babe Ruth League during the preseason, then I got traded. I heard it was the first trade in league history. Some coach wanted his son on his team. I got traded to the Pirates in some 2-for-2 deal and we sucked. Our skipper stole the candy money and we ended up with a new coach, too.
  20. cwsox. That is so wild your Mom wouldn't refer to the Sox by name. You are right. For her to buy you the cup is a helluva gift. Best ever! Nice story.
  21. Evil Monkey, Cool post. That is so neat you are taking the niece to the Sox game. Maybe it'll work and she'll love the Sox.
  22. My story: Grew up on South side. My Dad and gramps on Dad's side loved Sox. Other gramps on mom's side loved the Cubs. I'd go to Cub games with the one gramps because I loved baseball any time all the time, but went to many more Sox games with dad who had season tickets for 10 years or so. Preferred Sox over Cubs but also didn't catch any pressure to pick one over the other. Moved to suburbia during formative h.s. years and took advantage of dad's season tickets by going to 20 Sox games a year with buddies. Became rabid fan. It stuck. Case closed.
  23. I take it back. Uribe and Harris deserve big-time credit for turning that game-ending DP. Good job fellas. Down go the Yanquees.
  24. Good prediction. Runs were certainly at a premium. I hate the Yankees.
  25. CWS guy said: "I miss Jose Valentin..." Me too. We are 0-2 w/out Jose. I hope Willie and Uribe are the answer.
