Everyone Relax
You said: I wanted a sweep in KC. I wanted a sweep in Tampa. I wanted a sweep of TB in Chicago. I wanty a sweep of the Tribe. What I want is a win of the series vs. KC a win of the series vs. Tampa I win of the series vs. Cleve AND A HEALTHY TEAM. p.s. He seems like a nice enough guy, but I don't think our new ss Kelly Graffaninoschlabotnik or whatever is neame is, appears to be a player. He reminds me of a pitcher hitting at the plate.

Anemic offense
We were flat. Couldn't hit that starter and like somebody said, Paulie's rushed throw killed us. Hope Maggs isn't hurt. We needed his bat and Jose's too. Or it was just one of those days. Piniella is a damn good manager.

Why are you a Sox fan?
Hey Jim, Did you like Gary Peters? Did he ever sign anything for ya?

Why are you a Sox fan?
Your mom is awesome. That's good stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Gload
If Gload keeps this up, KW deserves to 'gloat' for acquiring him.
-
Scott Schoeneweis: You sir, are good:
I agree. He looked damn good tonight again. Nice move by KW or whomever said he should be a starter this year. He looks nasty.

My son's TeeBall team...the WHITE SOX!!
I played for The White Sox in the Mt Greenwood Babe Ruth League during the preseason, then I got traded. I heard it was the first trade in league history. Some coach wanted his son on his team. I got traded to the Pirates in some 2-for-2 deal and we sucked. Our skipper stole the candy money and we ended up with a new coach, too.

Why are you a Sox fan?
cwsox. That is so wild your Mom wouldn't refer to the Sox by name. You are right. For her to buy you the cup is a helluva gift. Best ever! Nice story.

Why are you a Sox fan?
Evil Monkey, Cool post. That is so neat you are taking the niece to the Sox game. Maybe it'll work and she'll love the Sox.

Why are you a Sox fan?
My story: Grew up on South side. My Dad and gramps on Dad's side loved Sox. Other gramps on mom's side loved the Cubs. I'd go to Cub games with the one gramps because I loved baseball any time all the time, but went to many more Sox games with dad who had season tickets for 10 years or so. Preferred Sox over Cubs but also didn't catch any pressure to pick one over the other. Moved to suburbia during formative h.s. years and took advantage of dad's season tickets by going to 20 Sox games a year with buddies. Became rabid fan. It stuck. Case closed.

U&H take a bow
I take it back. Uribe and Harris deserve big-time credit for turning that game-ending DP. Good job fellas. Down go the Yanquees.
-
Runs may be hard to come by.
Good prediction. Runs were certainly at a premium. I hate the Yankees.
-
Please Spare Me H&U
CWS guy said: "I miss Jose Valentin..." Me too. We are 0-2 w/out Jose. I hope Willie and Uribe are the answer.
-
Joe Crede
I like Joe, but at this rate he won't make a lot of dough (playing the game). His defense has still been stellar, right? I don't get to see many games here and was wondering. I still believe in Joe Crede.
-
Please Spare Me H&U
Please spare me Harris and Uribe batting 1-2 in our order. I fear these two guys at the top are going to kill the positivity we had in opening 8-4. They are not quality big leaguers. They are KW's boys and should not be batting 1-2 in our order!! Comments?
-
Are you satisfied?
I'm also ecstatic. 8-4 is great. I'll never complain if we win every series and split toughies like at New York. We even swept a series. Last year's team swept precious few series. Oz has been great.

Koch
Nice point by Yasny, and scary too. Koch is untradeable! Yikes!

Thomas opens his yap again.
Thanx Yasny! I've always respected your posts also.

Aaron Rowand
Fair enough Brando. I do respect your opinion. I like the fact you're giving aaron til mid May. I agree that's long enough. If he's not up to .270 and continuing to play good def. by mid May, bring up Reed. s*** if Reed is ready and hitting like he is, I aint against Reed. but for some reason I do like Aaron even though he has what, 1 ribbie?

I'm not trying to be a dick here, just to explain how the media works. I am a sportswriter, have been one forever. We ask guys like Big Hurt questions. They sometimes, usually answer. The Daily Southtown guy, who is a good writer, asked Hurt about his contract. Hurt didn't call him over. Hurt didn't say, "Joe let's chat contract." Hurt responded to Joe's questions! Belive me, it's true!! Hurt in my mind is not whining. He said he'd keep playing. He just said he thought he was getting screwed. I think that's fair. And in this day and age of greed and talking to the media about money, I think Hurt was fine, as Maggs has done fine. Remember, it's the f***ign MEDIA, OF WHICH I know better than anybody, I've been a writer 25 years, that is asking the questions. Hurt and Maggs are just answering and I believe answering fairly with due respect to the sox management and the great fans. Agree or disagree??
-
Moronotti Strikes Again
It would have been nice of Mariotti to save the contract column and merely write a nice one about the sweep. I agree with that. On the other hand, Reinsdork deserves to be ripped whenever the media gets a chance. I don't like Jerry R.
-
Aaron Rowand
Shouldn't Aaron be given a full year in center so we can see what he can do, ala Crede last year?

Thomas opens his yap again.
Frank said: "I've already discussed it with Arn and the club," Thomas said. "They both know how I feel. I've earned my way here, they're not giving me nothing. After the year I had last year, it's a little disappointing come the 1st and 15th this year (pay day), but I'm going to keep on ticking. It's not a challenge to me, because I'm used to proving myself." I don't think Frank was whining. If you read his statement it's not that bad, not in this day and age of greed. He said it's a little disappointing. I don't think that's too radical a statement. I love Frank (but not as much as Old Roman did)

Jim-Jim
"when Jimenez learns to act as if he cares, I'll learn to act as if I care that he's gone." Great line by winninugly. I agree 100 percent! I don't miss him.
